More than likely your blank screen problem is caused by a corrupted SDT
preferences file. I had the same issue maybe a year ago. On a standard
WinXP installation the prefs file will be located in the following
folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Squeezebox\prefs\plugin

Stop squeezebox server, look for the file named "superdatetime.prefs"
in the folder previously mentioned and delete it. Restart squeezebox
server, let SDT start up and start displaying before changing any SDT
settings. This will cause the superdatetime.prefs file to be recreated
with default values. Once you get SDT running again you can go back and
change all your settings to the way you like them.

Hope this helps,
Don

Yes. Actually the easiest way would be to re-download it from the App
Store. Unless you change your iTunes account in between you will not
have to pay for it again, even if the App Store says something
different at first.

The Artists vanished a couple of days ago. Nothing on my sysem has
changed. It was working fine then suddenly all Artists gone. I have
not ripped any CDs and have made no changes to my music database.

i use Norton Anti Virus and have done for a few years without any
problems.

I have Flushed Cache after the Clear database and rescan has finished
running.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Question about IRblaster

Yes, this is exactly how it works. The only thing that can get confusing
is that the volume scale on the transporter does not reflect the true
volume changes of the equipment - you'll usually see that in the
reciever's display.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2010-10-06 Thread norderney

When I press the artists button (bottom left corner on iPeng) the screen
is blank. No artists are shown.

If I press Albums, it then lists all my Albums.

If I press Gendre, it lists all my gendres.

If I press Year it lists all years.

It is only Artists that are missing.

I have selected the option on SB Server to Clear Databse and do a full
rescan.

The Arists are appearing on SB server on my PC, when I click on the
Artist tab, so the problem only affects iPeng.

I have also done Flush Cache on iPeng without success.

Everything else on iPeng is working fine. It is just the Artists that
are missing from the Artist screen.

Any ideas please?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Question about IRblaster

2010-10-06 Thread jp73

Hi
just bought a transporter. I'm going to buy a new amplifier and want to
use IRblaster to adjust the volume of the amplifier via the use of an
IR-emittercable.

I read that it's best to keep the volume output of the transporter
fixed at 100% (by selecting this option in squeezeserver software) and
use the amplifier to control the volume.

Wil this still be possible with the volume from the transporter fixed
at 100% by using IR-blaster plugin ?

thanks for any clarification

If you put your laptop to sleep via closing the lid, SrvrPowerCtrl
never "gets the memo" that the system is going to sleep. If your OS on
the laptop is windows, there may be something we can do about that in
the future. But for now, use SrvrPowerCtrl's web menu to sleep the
laptop. If you do that, the wake for alarm feature should work.

If it still won't wake for alarms, and if the OS on the laptop is
Windows 7, then there is a system setting you need to change. With
administrative credentials, go to the Windows 7 Control Panel->Power
Options->Edit Plan Settings->Change advanced power settings->Change
settings that are currently unavailable->Sleep->Allow wake
timers->Plugged in->Enable & On battery->Enable.

Making those changes allows SCPowerTool.exe to wake up the laptop. As
far as I know, defaulting defaulting disabled wake timers when plugged
in is new with Windows 7.

Now, if your OS is something other then Windows 7, then we've got a
little more spelunking to do.

But please wait a few days before we continue this. I'm just about to
fly back from Europe and I always have really wicked jet lag since it's
about 24 hours of travel time to get back to my home in the sticks.
