[SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat ratings lost after adding Music IP tags to tracks
Hi, I recently added Music IP tagging to a load of albums using Picard Tagger. I've now realised that quite a lot of these tracks have lost their ratings/play count. I had Picard rename the files according to the meta data - I'm guessing this is the source of the problem, and hence Trackstat thinks the tracks are new. Can I restore the info from a previous backstat somehow? If I edit the file names back to what they were before, will Trackstat realise this after a refresh and pull the data back (assuming it hasn't been purged somehow)? Can I edit the trackstat file directly - or is this risky? Thanks for your support Erland. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunes Update
The first track has accented characters so I'm not really surprised it wasn't found. But the 2nd looks pretty simple - what happens if you type The Beach Boys Made In U.S.A. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat ratings lost after adding Music IP tags to tracks
If you have a backup of TrackStat data, make sure to keep that xml file somewhere safe. I think the choices you have are: 1. Rename the files back to their old names, the TrackStat data should still be in the database it just doesn't match the new files. Perform a full rescan in SBS, this will make SBS and TrackStat pickup the musicbrainz id tags which have been added by Picard, after this you can rename the files to the new correct names if you like and perform a rescan (TrackStat will now be able to keep the ratings for any files with musicbrainz id tags even if they are renamed). OR 2. If you have a TrackStat backup xml file, you can edit its contents so it matches the new names and perform a Restore in TrackStat settings page. Just make sure to keep the original TrackStat backup file in case something goes wrong. Note that the TrackStat backup file encodes certain characters as %xx where xx is a number, so if you edit the file you need to enter the correct %xx encoding for these characters. Search for urlencode on Google and you will find a lot of pages which provides conversion routines to simplify the encoding. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland). As it displays the message, it sends a magic packet which wakes up my server and when the SBS server is running the message disappears. I can also reproduce the problem if I power off my Touch and manually hibernate my server. As you can imagine, this behaviour means that I cant hibernate my server. If I chose the option of going to the home page and power off my Touch after a server shutdown, the message does not reappear. Im not keen to use the option of switching to mysqueezebox on hibernate or shutdown which may fix the problem (I havent tested it yet), after the recent problems with different versions of the server software causing upgrade/downgrade issues when switching. I would like to get it back to working as it did before. Any suggestions, please? This is a well known Touch/SqueezePlay problem and doesn't have anything to do with SrvrPowerCtrl and it is precisely the problem that SrvrPowerCtrl's Suspend t mysb.com feature is designed to address. I've been seeing this problem ever since the 7.4x versions of SqueezePlay on the Touch and the Squeezebox Controller were released back in the Fall of 2009. Logitech apparently feels that there is nothing to be gained by encouraging users to sleep or suspend their servers when they aren't in use. Perhaps they feel that this will just increase support requests. But for whatever reason, Logitech's development effort to make the SqueezeBox line work and play well with aggressive energy saving servers pretty much dried up with the transition from SqueezeCenter to SqueezeboxServer. My suggestion is that you use the 'Suspend to www.mysqueezebox.com' feature in SrvrPowerCtrl rather than just 'suspend'. That will keep the Touch happy and keep it from prematurely WOLing your server. You can also adjust SrvrPowerCtrl's settings to automatically fetch the touch back from mysb.com on server wakeup. If you'd rather not connect the Touch to mysb.com, then I'd suggest buying a cheap SD card and installing it on your Touch. That will have the effect of enabling tinysc, the embedded Squeezeboxserver on the Touch. You can then configure SrvrPowerCtrl to send the Touch to itself. Again, the Touch will remain happy and won't WOL your sleeping server. And again, SrvrPowerCtrl on your SBS server can be configured to automatically fetch the Touch back from itself on wake up. The only downside to this arrangement is that it makes it more difficult to wake the SBS server from the Touch. If that is a problem, then what I would unhesitatingly recommend is this: go out and purchase the cheapest Apple iPod Touch from eBay or wherever that you can find. Then purchase iPeng. iPeng can be relied on to WOL your server whenever you pull it up on the iPod Touch. When the server wakes up, then SrvrPowerCtrl can be relied on to fetch the Touch back from mysb.com or from tinysc. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Never Played library
I'm not sure exactly when SBS scanner set's it to 1 and 6, if the artists you think is track artists is set to 1 it explains what you are seeing. Track Artist roles are only given to songs that are on albums/songs that also have an Album Artist. An album that doesn't have an album artist (i.e. assigned Various Artists automatically, because there is at least one different artist on songs), will have songs with an Artist role, not Track Artist. It's always seemed a bit peculiar. Could it be that all those track artists are on compilation albums, so when you activate Various Artists setting they are removed because it then only shows artists on normal albums in the main list ? There are two cases where artists are included/excluded from the list: 1) If the artist only ever appears as a track artist (meaning they only appear as a guest on albums that have an album artist tag). 2) If the artist doesn't have any albums owned by them. A prime example is where I have ripped some songs from CD singles, and removed the album tag (because I don't want to clutter my album list with lots of CD Single entries containing a small number of tracks). As a result, they are associated with album=No Album and have an Artist role, not Track Artist. eg. I have a single song Starman by Artist=10,000 Maniacs on No Album. I include Artist and Album Artist roles in the list. If I exclude the Various Artists section, I see the 10,000 Maniacs artist in the Unplayed Artists list. If I include the Various Artists section, I don't see the artist 10,000 Maniacs in the Unplayed Artists list. I thought I'd actually be able to find these within Various Artists No Album, but strangely, I only see a handfull of songs there (a lot less than I have exploded out into the artists list if I exclude Various Artists. It doesn't seem to work correctly, but I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I guess the problem is more associated with (2) above - that the SBS Artist menu finds artists that are associated with albums, but excludes No Album albums? Perhaps I should capture the SQL being generated to get the list in both cases. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

GS_Schimpf;627764 Wrote: Is there a way to get this running on MacOS X 10.6.7. The tutorial integrated with the latest stable doesn't work for it. Especially some pathes are not correct and therefore the scripts do not work ou of the box. I'm thankful for any hint... Thx in advance! Can you describe what isn't correct? You are using the latest beta of SrvrPowerCtrl, right? I just did a clean install of the latest beta of SrvrPowerCtrl on my 10.6.6 mac-mini and the setup script and the plugin worked perfectly. I'll try to software update my system to 10.6.7 and see if anything changes. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] customscan amarok syncing stops working after restarts
Is Amarok and SBS running on the same computer ? If not, could it be that the Amarok computer has gone into sleep mode ? I assume Amarok hasn't been restarted during the synching ? Can you look at the CPU usage of the computer running Amarok to see if MySQL starts using 100% CPU or something similar when the problem occurs ? -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland).
