In a nutshell you did exactly the same as me.
It's probably the still running process what disturbs the correct

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Just Covers plugin

2011-10-19 Thread warpian

Hi there,

There is a new plugin available named Just Covers.

Just Covers was created to improve the user experience when browsing
music by covers. It wont change your life, but you might like it.

You can read more about it here:
http://www.warpgear.nl/sb/justcovers/

Or install it by using this repository URL:
http://www.warpgear.nl/sb/latest.xml

I worked my socks off the last couple of days to finish it. Feedback is
always welcome of course.

Enjoy!

regards,
Tom

Part 1: I do have a fix means: I believe I have identified the
problem and have solved it. The next update will bring you this fix.

Part 2: There is a workaround right now: Disable the code lock.

Well, it's called code lock in English, don't know about Apple's
terminology in other languages.
It when you have to enter a code to disable the screen saver.

If you disable that feature (the you will only have to swipe to disable
the screen saver), at least for me it solved the issue in 90% of the
cases (I was able to reproduce the issue twice without the code lock
but never again).

certainly available, at least in UK, in HD. Also suggests that the

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2011-10-19 Thread Jens_dk

Now reinstalled v2.1.0, and the helper app is reported running.
But I cant log in.

Tried several times to remove/reinstall the plugin, restarting the
Squeezebox server. And now I restarted the NAS.

But still no success with logging in, probably because (as indicated in
the log file) the application cannot reach spotify.

I would really like the Spotify plugin to work - any suggestions what I
could do, any other information I can give?

Thanks
Jens

The problem can be that the helper app keeps running. If you are happy

server. Rebooting the server is the sure fire way to kill it for users
who are less comfortable doing this. If the server closes normally then
it will kill the helper app itself, so it _should_ not occur...

I know this is very late reply, but how do you setup the server to
transcode for squeezeplay?
I find the ultra-slow speed playback for 24/96 files - amusing - at
least for a sort time. But would far rather that the system just played
the music rather than either failed to play it or caused my DAC to loose
lock. :)

Better yet of course, would be support for higher sample rates, and
autoswitching. Heck, I could be convinced to donate a few bucks to that
cause.

Yes the date setting will matter as the plugin needs to select from a
list of potentially available entries in the BBC feed to get the ones
which are actually available at the time you look at the menu (so you
don't get annoyed about menu entries which don't work)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Solution: TrackStat data to iTunes export on Mac OS

2011-10-19 Thread prabbit

I figured out a workaround to my problem, but I think it's an issue with
how TrackStat_iTunes_Complete.txt (and TrackStat_iTunes_Hist.txt) is
written.

I did change my Date Time back to Germany, then I looked more closely
at the text files written by TrackStat.

When I was opening the files on my Windows system (using TextPad), I
was getting an error saying that there was an unreadable character used
and not compatible with Character Set 1251 (I think that was the
character referenced). TextPad converted the character by removing it,
so nothing looked amiss to me. However, when I opened the same file on
my Mac, the Mac didn't complain about the character set, but there
definitely was a strange character used throughout it.

You'll notice that my file names contain a rather unique character: ¬.
This is by design (and something I picked up from this forum years
ago).

2008 ¬ 1-1 ¬ Offshore.mp3

When I open the TrackStat text files on my Mac, my files look one of
two ways (I've seen both, and think it could be related to which system
I use to view the files):

2008 Ŭ 1-1 Ŭ Offshore.mp3
(Å before the ¬)

or

2008 ¨¬ 1-1 ¨¬ Offshore.mp3
(umlaut before the ¬)

By searching for and replacing these characters (which is safe for me
because I don't have any instance of Å and the umlauts I do have in my
file names are always above another character and never alone), I was
able to save the file and run it successfully to update my iTunes
library.

Erland, if you read this, do you have any thoughts on the issue, since
it is TrackStat that is writing the file in the first place?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

Anyone else getting this issue? I am running on a vortex box system so
it might be related to a different issue?

I did get that message after every recent Vortexbox upgrade, but was
able to resolve it thru a manual re-install of SDT, via SSH.

However, neither that nor reinstallation via the plugins repository are
working for me now and I've had to disable SDT for the time being. If
and when a new version is rleased, I will give it another go as I sure
do miss it.

Strange - that looks like it playing to me!

Did your wireshark look at the tcp session between server and player
when playing a track - what's the content of those packets? Is it
random or all repeating values you said before?

What cpu is this? What does cat /proc/cpuinfo say? It could be that
its another problem with the latest spotify library, in which case you
could try manually installing the old version? (see other discussion
re people with old linux servers on the main thread)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Squeeze Remote for Windows Phone 7

2011-10-19 Thread JIJ3

This app looks very promising. I am currently using SlimControl on
Windows 6 platform (very pleased), but planning to upgrade my phone. If
it would be possible to view pdf files residing in the same folder as
the music now playing, this would put this mobile app way beyond the
rest. This is the one functionality I miss most in the entire
Squeezebox universe.
Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2011-10-19 Thread vdeknock

Hi Doug,

Got it working again last time I checked - a complete reboot of the
vortexbox fixed the issue with SDT and Music Information Screen (or
something like that). I have not looked since but have made zero
changes to the box since I got all working. Might leave my machine
alone for a few weeks, as not having SDT is worst as it is used on
three machines and tells me the weather each morning on my radio.
