Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Android phones/tablets .. Squidget and Squeeze Player

2012-01-08 Thread Mick Seymour

Thanks for the reply.

I looked at AndroidPit. It looks like it gives me a code I can then use
on the Android Market but the Android Market won't let me download as it
doesn't recognise the device (although it lists it as supported!).

I do have a SlideMe account which is where I got SqueezeCommander from.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse Menus - different behaviours

2012-01-08 Thread erland

The "Names to show" configuration is only used in the "Dynamic Tags"
browse menu template, so if you don't use "Dynamic Tags" template or
"Tags" menu it doesn't matter what you put in this field.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse Menus - different behaviours

2012-01-08 Thread erland

Looks like you do have COMPOSER in the Mixed Tag configuration, what I
meant with the previous comment was that if you have COMPOSER both in:
- Custom tag/(one of the fields)
- Mixed tag/Composer tags

Then you probably get duplicate composer entries in the menus and this
could maybe confuse the letter navigation.

The principle with Mixed tag configuration is that for each parameter
line in Mixed tag configuration the contributor roles scanned by
standard SBS scanner will be stored as the tags listed in Custom Scan
database.

So if you have:
- Artist tags: ARTIST
- Conductor tags: CONDUCTOR,ARTIST
- Composer tags: COMPOSER

It basically means that all ARTIST tags scanned by standard SBS scanner
will end up as an ARTIST tag in the Custom Scan database plus that any
CONDUCTOR tags scanned by standard SBS scanner will also end up as an
ARTIST tag in the Custom Scan database, but any COMPOSER tags will not
end up as ARTIST tags in Custom Scan database.

On top of this it also means that the CONDUCTOR tags scanned by
standard SBS scanner will except for ending up as ARTIST tag in Custom
Scan database also be stored as CONDUCTOR tag in Custom Scan database.

Finally it also means that any COMPOSER tags scanned by standard SBS
scanner will only end up as COMPOSER tag in Custom Scan database and
will not be stored as ARTIST.

This configuration for "Composer tags" looks a bit strange, usually you
want ARTIST to be part of "Composer tags" too.

My standard comment is that it's better to have COMPOSER listed under
"Composer tags" in Mixed Tag configuration and not mention it at all in
Custom Tag configuration. If you have it in both Custom Tag and Mixed
Tag you will end up with multiple entries of COMPOSER in Custom Scan
database which probably is not what you like.

I think there was some reason why some people wanted to have it in
Custom Tag configuration, but in this case I would suggest to not
mention COMPOSER in the Mixed Tag configuration, because else you will
end up with duplicate COMPOSER entries in the Custom Scan database.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze and MOG playback issues

2012-01-08 Thread bpa

I don't know what MOG is.

Softsqueeze uses Javasound library to stream http mp3 streams directly
from source - they do not get processed by LMS. In this case it looks
like the Javasound library doesn't recognise as valid the MP3 stream
that comres from MOG - at a guess there is a non standard header
attached and by skipping forward over this header, Javasound finds the
mp3 audio frames and so can play the stream.

I was just thinking playcount and rating for a library, like for albums

Install the playlist manager plugin in your server.

In all remote controlling Apps new context menu items (i.e. add to one

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze and MOG playback issues

2012-01-08 Thread va1ar

Hi. I'm fairly new to Squeezebox and installed Softsqueeze. It has
worked really well. I've been able to play music from my library along
with other plugins like Pandora and Slacker. For some strange reason,
though, I can't seem to get MOG to work. It looks like it is playing
on the display but no audio can be heard. I keep getting the following
message in the debug log each time a song is played:

0 [SlimTCP-1] ERROR javasound - Unsupported Audio Stream

at

The odd thing is if I scrub forward a few seconds, it will then play
correctly. Up to the end of the song, then the next song won't work
again. Does anyone else that uses MOG and Softsqueeze see this issue
or is this a problem with my set-up? I thought at first that maybe MOG
just has restrictions like Rhapsody that restrict you from using the
plugin on a software player. But I installed Squeezeslave just to test
it and it seems to work fine. I'd just go ahead and use Squeezeslave
instead but Softqueeze works with my HTPC software (Sage) so as long as
I want squeezebox integrated, then I think I need to continue using
Softsqueeze.

Thank you for any help you can give!

That's fine.

I started to look at my custom/mixed configuration again.

Is there a clear explanation of the initial mixed tag set-up screen?
Looking at it again I am a bit confused. In one of your (old) examples
(for classical music) you suggested tags:

Album tags: ALBUM
Artist tags: ARTIST
Composer tags: COMPOSER
Conductor tags: CONDUCTOR,ARTIST
Band tags: BAND,ARTIST
Genre tags: GENRE

I don't quite follow the logic. Could you point me to somewhere where
it is explained in detail? What does it really mean for CONDUCTOR and
ARTIST to be mapped in this way? For instance, what difference would I
perceive in behaviour if CONDUCTOR was on its own?

I looked at the wiki but am none the wiser.

I currently have, in screen order:

ARTIST
ARTIST,ALBUMARTIST
TRACKARTIST,ARTIST
CONDUCTOR
COMPOSER
BAND
ALBUM
GENRE
YEAR
Include custom tags - yes

Names to show -
ALBUM(Album:Albums),ARTIST(Artist:Artists),GENRE(Genre:Genres),YEAR(Year:Years),CONDUCTOR(Conductor:Conductors),COMPOSER(Composer:Composers),
BAND(Band:Bands),TRACKARTIST(Track Artist:Track
Artists),ALBUMARTIST(Album Artist:Album
Artists),WORK(Work:Works),MOVEMENT(Movement:Movements),
WORKARTIST(Work Artist:Work Artists),SETID(Set Id:Set
Ids),TITLE(Title:Titles)

(the extra spaces that show within the list above aren't there in the
system - they are artifacts of this post).

(actually, go ahead and install 7.7.1 as that is the newest official
version). Reboot computer running LMS or at least clear cache on your
browser.

LMS 7.7.1 is fine. You don't "download" the plugin. Open LMS 7.7.1
webGUI in your web browser. If on same computer where LMS running, just
enter this in web browser:
http://localhost:9000/

Then click on SETTINGS (lower right side of page)
Then click on PLUGINS tab
Then scroll down toward bottom of page and put a check on the box next
to "show all 3rd party plugins". Hit Apply.

Then you can find the plugin. It is not called "Spotify" intially
(don't look in the "S's", it is called Triode's 3rd Party Spotify
Plugin" or something like that. Put a check in the box next to it, hit
APPLY at bottom of page, choose to restart LMS, then it will be there.
You'll need to go back to the plugins page, click on settings next to
the Triode plugin, and enter your spotify credentials, etc.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2012-01-08 Thread Phools

Am I just stupid or why can't I find any place to donwload this plugin?
I'm using Logitech media server 7.7.1 (only one that was on their site)
and Squeezebox Duet.

Can someone help me to get spotify working? I see that the first post
says: "1) Make sure you are running 7.5.x or 7.6.x Squeezebox server,
or 7.7.x LMS"

So is that my problem or what? I was not able to find prevosius
versions of squeezebox server. I really need to get spotify working on
Duet, because Spotify is my only music source.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] 3rd party plugins dissapeared?

2012-01-08 Thread atchi123

Hi
I've upgraded to the new LMS 7.70 and have just noticed that when I go
to the plugins menu in the web settings that it is only showing what
seem like the official plugins. There is no tick-box as in the previous
versions to show the 3rd party plugins?? I really want to reinstall the
3rd party Spotify plugin for my Duet but its not visible.
Any help appreciated.
Tks

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse Menus - different behaviours

2012-01-08 Thread PasTim

The problem is, indeed, that the Composers in the WorksbyComposer menu
cannot be accessed using letter navigation. I don't often use the
Touch directly, so I may be mistaken, but I think it used to work. A
lot of water has flowed under the bridge over the last year, with
different SB/LLMS versions and some minor menu edits, so I can't say
this with any certainty.

There is no mention of COMPOSER in my Mixed Tag configuration. It is
in my Custom Tag configuration.

If there's nothing obvious wrong with my menus or other standard
setting, then please leave it. I can live with it.

The time taken for menus to work on 1st run after LMS startup is a much
greater issue for daily use, but I guess it's a fairly intractable
problem. You have a copy of my dbs. I wonder if you can see the same
delays on any of your systems?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Playlist Manager version 6.0 released

2012-01-08 Thread Phil Meyer
>I guess the main problem is
>that I don't get "Add to.." in the context menu for Rhapsody tracks.
Oh. Then it might be harder :-( I don't know if it is possible to register
custom menu stuff in the rhapsody menu.

I notice that with CustomBrowse's "Override standard track details" enabled, it
isn't possible to get into the "standard song info" for a rhapsody track, so I
guess no other plugin has managed to integrate with custom protocol handlers.

I think the problem is integrating with the context menu actions, and if you
could get to the Add To actions, they would work.

I had a play using SoftSqueeze, and it appears possible to add a Rhapsody track
from the current playlist to another playlist using the IR Remote, but it
didn't pick up the track title for the playlist entry (entries appear blank).
