Yes absolute radio changed a little while ago to be UK only and had a post about the decision on their website. I'll see if I can find it. jimbobvfr400's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56857 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

For albums? Tap the play mode icon in the top right. See "Help->Quick Tutorials->Playlists and Albums". If that only switches between "Add" and "Play next" you have enabled the party mode (Settings->iPeng Settings) which does precisely this: it disables the play-mode. --- learn more about iPeng, the iPhone and iPad remote for the Squeezebox and Logitech UE Smart Radio as well as iPeng Party, the free Party-App, at penguinlovesmusic.com *New: iPeng 7, the Universal App for iOS 7* pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'd like to listen to Symphonycast.com. Is there a way via the Web Browser function? Other stations would be Absolute80.com? I am not sure how to get into play mode with iPhone ipeng. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Google Music Plugin
@Hechtus I'd love to help, but don't have the skills. I could test the 0.4 version. Where do I find it? Do I compile myself or is there a binary? Do you have a test-repo for LMS? Thanks. But my time is limited as it is only a spare time project. If you want to help you may try and test the v0.4 branch and report problems. It contains a lot of new things but it's not perfect. I'm also quite limited due to the limitations of the gmusicapi. You may also further develop this project. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

The point about HLS, HDS is that the stream is broken into short about 10 sec "files". Each "file" is streamed separately and there is feedback to server on quality of link to player. If the link is good quality/high speed them the "files" are sent with a high bit rate, if the link is poor quality then low bit rate files are sent so that there are no delays. Furthermore the link quality is monitored throughout the streaming so the bit rate of the "files" will vary fi the quality if the link varies (ie.g. more users start/stop using broadband in a home environment). This varying quality is important for live links as otherwise, the streamed service could get behind the actual live broadcast if link is poor . I think for streaming a Listen Again program - there will be no difference to current setup - in fact it could be better. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So, that's what is being implemented. Streaming is the key. Alas that streaming is the key, it requires reliable and high speed broadband and mine is unreliable and slow. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
hi there, Recently went for a Spotify premium account; installed the plugin and all is well - more or less! I can play spotify "locally controlled" via the Touch players. I can play it on the SB3 players - if controlled from the ipad/squeezepad; but if I go into the SB3's own menu I can't find the plugin menu at all. I'm assuming this is something really obvious that I'm not doing correctly, but would be grateful for any pointers. Many thanks. Also - in the same vein "in case I'm doing something stupid" - when I go to the spotify app on my ipad there are all sorts of 'mood' playlists. These aren't ( or don't seem to be ) available on SB via the plugin, but I do like to select something like that sometimes and find it more homogenuous than the "radio: folk" option. In this instance I'm assuming that Spotify Core, which the plugin is based on, doesn't have access to all these things? If so, that's fine, no complaints here, but if it's just that I'm missing something, again I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. If I'm in one room, with a 'Boom' player, there's a workaround by plugin the ipad into the 'line in' socket - that works just fine, but obviously it's only that one player and not multi-room synched. Overall though, I've come late to the party with spotify and this plugin, but I can see it being realy good. Thanks Triode. Cheers D SB "user" since 2000... 3 x Touch; 2 x Boom ; 3 x Classic; 1 x Controller Spares - 1xClassic; 2xSB1 Controlled by iPad using 'Squeezepad' Vortexbox appliance running LMS version 7.8 donmacn's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36036 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But why change everything else too when it is working well? I've done a bit of homework, and the issue seems to be that the BBC want us to stream (view-listen without downloading to a file) rather than download media content (podcasts), and this required the use of proprietary protocols such as Adobe's RPMT that in turn required the use of proprietary servers such as Adobe's Flash Media Server (FMS). It is now possible to stream using HTTP (free) so avoiding the cost of proprietary servers, but this still requires proprietary but new protocols such as HDS (that Adobe Flash Player or Air comprehends on desktops) and HLS (that iOS, Android and some smart TV's comprehend natively). So, that's what is being implemented.
