I think I shall be feeling the full wrath of my missus when she gets home :( The alpha plugin does seem a bit flaky to me - what are you running LMS on? I'm running LMS on a QNAP-119 ARM-based 1.2GHz processor, and see that the cpu load is briefly very high (90%) when I first start playing a live HLS stream using Triode's new plugin; it then drops to around 5% and cycles between 5-60%. For a live HLS stream using the PlayHLS plugin and ffmpeg, the cpu load behaviour is similar. So it's not so much that the new plugin is flaky, but the processing demands for the HLS streams (by whichever route) are putting strain on the hardware. But one or other of HLS.pm or ffmpeg might work better depending on the system, so maybe Triode could enable an option whereby users choose? Also, given that the RTMP listen again streams are still available, an option to choose between them and HLS? majones's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13029 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin
I still have the Playing: Nothing syndrom when pressing Play instead of the right key. I think both this mis-behaviour on Play button as well as the screen going blank on some actions actually are limitations (aka. bugs) in the underlying code for the classic UI. That code has been neglected a bit since the arrival of Touch/Radio. Some of the features available for the latter never fully made it to the older players. I have added some workarounds to the two plugins. Please let me know whether this improves the situation. There still are some oddities, but I can't fix them in the plugin. I'd have to work on the LMS code. Eg. you would get different feedback when changing a SmartMix parameter depending on whether you selected the item using play or right. The executed code remains the same, though. They should both work. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

For the uPnP part, sq2 scans ports 49152+N until it finds an available port (N starts with 0). On that port, it installs a webserver that listens to incoming connections from uPnP players to request audio data, once they've been required to do so. Obviously, I don't need all these apps/plugins. Do some of them interfere with others? PlayHLS doesn't appear in the radio menu - is it a background to support iPlayer Extra? Basically, I can play live BBC but I can't use Listen Again whether via iPlayer or anything else, which is the main radio use of the Squeezebox. He then fixed that and since then everything worked fine. Im assuming some changes must have been made again in these past few days (maybe by Sirius) that affect listening with the Squeezebox app in Europe without a problem. I hope this gets fixed otherwise I can only listen on the Sirius iphone app or on my laptop. FWIW: the only change in our Sirius implementation which happened in the past 3.5 years was a change to the SSL configuration. That was no functional change. Streams from music services usually go to the player directly, without mysb.com being involved. If you were using LMS you could try to enable its proxied streaming option which would send the audio stream through LMS. This often improves streaming when there are minor networking issues between your player and the streaming server. Please keep in mind that SiriusXM is a US only service. It's very possible that they don't have optimized _global_ infrastructure. The fact that it might be working ok on your smartphone might be thanks to its bigger memory (and thus bigger buffers). -- Michael The buffering problem suddenly stopped today so I believe it must have been a problem on Sirius end...Thank you ! schmollywood's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6690 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103340 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
Just wanted to add something here for those who are still struggling. I only just checked in to see what progress is being made and tried to install Triode's latest alpha plugin. However, I couldn't get the LA feeds to work until I had first uninstalled PlayHLS, restarted, uninstalled Triode's alpha plugin, restarted, re-installed Triodes's alpha plugin. Now all seems well for the few stations I've tried in both Listen Live and Listen Again. - In SmartMix, using the right arrow works fine. Using the Play button possibly works also all the time, although I can get a Playlist empty message instead of Thanks ... as feedback. I don't know if the mix Yes, that's the inconsistency I mentioned. Checking the log with plugin.smartmix set to debug would show you that the commands sent to the TEN backend are the same. I did fine one menu where using Play could be a problem: pressing Play on the Save recipe menu item will immediately save a recipe with a blank name. It is possible to remove it from the server admin interface. Ok, another one to track down. Thanks! I am a bit disappointed to discover there are not that many SB3 users in your clientele, Michael :) There probably are. I myself use a Transporter most of the time, too. But I rarely use it's UI to control it. sweetda1 wrote: I think the answer to the question below is somewhere but I have not been able to trace it: I cannot Listen Again - I get the title screen and cover art but either the famous 'File not supported' or just a 'connecting' message. I have followed bpa's very clear instructions at the start of the thread and PlayHLS (v1.1) seems to be among the apps installed but I'm not sure which of the, now numerous, radio plugins it works with - or should I be able to access it directly? Currently I have (this may not be exhaustive) BBC Radio (silence) BBC iPlayer (v1.2.14) by Triode - This Soutcast stream is unavailable - BBC iPlayer Extra (v1.7) by bpa (Problem: can't open file except - bizarrely - Alun Cochran's Fun House), Local (works via National Networks - BBC - Local Stations but only live), TuneIn Radio (works for live stations), and Radiofeeds UK and Ireland. Thanks again for clear instructions: it all seemed to work well but I haven't yet got it right. My 'system' is Squeezebox Radio running LMS 7.7.5 from a MyBook Live. I use both PC and Mac to access the ssh when needed. Again, if the solution is already posted, I would be very grateful to be directed to it. Thanks to all of you. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
Well I haven't posted here for a few years, so I ended up having to re-register. Firstly I'd like to thank Bpa and Triode for working on this problem. I tried Triode's new alpha version for IPlayer last night, and it looks promising. I found it not really usable, but it does sort of work, and it's only an alpha, so hopefully a better debugged version will appear before long. I might as well give a list of problems I had with it, in case it's of any help. Selecting a stream, live or listen again, doesn't seem to work 1st time. I seem to have to go into NowPlaying, and it says stopped. So I press play once or twice, and it usually starts. However often with a pause at first for some more buffering. Listen again does not seem to work for The World Service. It just seemed to stay at the Stopped stage and wouldn't play. I also found that after listening to a live stream for a few minutes, to audio seemed to slow down. Then after a while it either re buffered and started again normally, or it just failed. My setup is: 3 Squeezebox Classics, and 1 Squeezebox Boom, all synchronised together. Logitec Media Server version 7.8.1, and Ubuntu version 14.04. Running on a Tranquil PC. I think it's a dual core 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom processor. 2Gb Ram, 2Tb Hard drive. I have aac set to decode to WAV on the server, using faad (I Think), as my Squeezebox Classics do not support aac. richard evans's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64232 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
