Giza, interesting. I took your advice and switched off Upnp in plugins.
Not entirely sure why it was there in the first place. Anyway, I
streamed a few things over the last few evenings, and it's holding up
well. I'll keep testing and report back, just in case it's coincidence,
but fingers crossed ...

Try turning logging for SDT to debug, the check the server log. You
should be able to find the URL for the wunderground.com query, including
your location and API key. Try copying that URL and paste into a regular

 that player

[edit]: and for the list of profiles, so I've created a entry in the
file profile name=''/profile and with that the first line of the
combobox is empty. (the list of profiles is a simple XML file named
profiles.xml located by default in the player's plugin directory. The
fetch option goes to whatever URL you indicate here and looks for a
file named profiles.xml and then replaces the local one by the new
one. The syntax of profiles.xml is very similar to the config.xml
 syntax.

Code:

   profile name='Marantz'
   stream_length-3/stream_length
   flac_header1/flac_header
   accept_nexturi1/accept_nexturi
   seek_after_pause0/seek_after_pause

   profile name='CR603'
   accept_nexturi0/accept_nexturi
   /profile
   /profile

You can nest as many layers as you want, the parameter at the lowest
layer takes precedence. When parsing the file, an entry is created in
the list for each end node - in that example, it creates 3 entries:
Marantz, Marantz - NR1603 and Marantz CR603. Although you do not need
to worry too much about these details as I intend to maintain at least
a reference source of such file, providing that happy users mail me
 or most their configuration file
On my system the list of profiles in the combobox always shows
foobar2000, not blank. If was always blank that would be OK. I don't
know what file profile name=''/profile is (or even what that text
means). I was suggesting that on the individual player pages it could
show the last profile used to set values for that player, but that's
probably over-the-top. Blank will do.

As for blue meaning 'important' that failed my 'obvious' test - it just
looked odd - sorry! However, I can't think of anything else that would
be clearer.

I think I have an idea of what's happening in your case - yet another
UPnP behavior, it seems. First, have you tried yes on the option
Player handles next track ?

[details]: some players have a gapless feature where there are capable
of memorizing 2 URI to play: the current and next. They automatically
move to the next one when the have finished playing the current, and
then current becomes next. It is up to the controler to keep feeding the
next URI when it detects the change. My app works like that:

- the app monitors the current URI of the player every 0.5 second and
when it detects the change, it sends next URI information, according to
what LMS has requested - and so on (hence no audio gap, normally)
- for players that are not capable of storing a next URI, the app waits
to detect that playback of current URI has stopped and then it sends a
nudge to the player, sending a new current URI (hence the audio gap)

Now, all these details appart, what happens with your player is that
there is (toward then end) a track change (with a strange URI) detected
although I've never sent any next URI information (you have disabled
it). As a result, the app is confused. I've done a patch to try this
hypothesis

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.8.0 on Synology DSM 5.*

2015-05-09 Thread pinkdot

Hello all,

Just created a repository for Logitech Media Server on Synology nas. I
repacked the latest official version of LMS provided by Synology. So
updated the package from 7.7.3 to 7.8.0. Most architectures are
supported. Just add the repo to your Package Center in DSM 5.0 or
higher.
MAKE SURE BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW PACKAGE TO REMOVE ANY VERSION OF LMS
ON YOUR NAS,

Name: LMS Repack
Location: http://lms-repack.pinkdot.nl/

This repo is to test if the procedure of repacking the spk will work. It
is already tested on several machines but more info is needd and very
welcome.

Thanks for testing!

setting? Edit: Possibly 44.1/48 x 100 percent of full speed but can't be
sure especially as streams are sampled at 48kHz and sq2upnp is set for
 that too.
Do you mean 'slowly', or at a different pitch?

I'm playing pcm transcoded from aac to pcm LMS, rather than aac
directly. I'll check the pitch again against FM, but I can't see how
'live' radio can be slow, can it?

A bit more information that may help.

Looking at the LMS webpage when the songs are playing as the first song
gets towards the last few seconds of playing the track(the actual timing
bar has already been at the end for quite some time) it changes to show
the next track and the bar moves along to about 5 seconds and then as
the first song finishes and then changes to the third track and starts
playing.

Hopefully the above makes some sense and may help :-)

2015-05-09 Thread ian_heys

Brilliant Philippe, Windows7/LMS 7.9.0 working perfectly.

Worked Out of the box with no problems whatsoever. I think this
approach will gain a much wider acceptance.

Will have to think about device configuration in my house now. No longer
a need to connect a micro PC to the back of my Revo.

A small note, it would probably help new users to get started if they
understood that generating a config file should be the first thing
they do as their device may work well without but much more likely to
need some tweaking to get it to perform properly.

Time limited for the next week or so but will give it a try on my
alternate systems when I get some time.

Well done and thanks for all the hard work.

I think it get's progressively further and further behind the live
stream - the pips sounded lower and longer than they should have been -
very strange.

I think it's a config problem at my end so don't worry about it. I'll
sort it out when I have more time.

Had to remember audio sampling theory from my telecoms background. You
can imagine how long it took to remember as I am older than you.

22.05kHz - Highest Frequency Sampled - provides a 2.05kHz guard band for
a high pass filter before sampling and representing all frequencies up
to 20kHz.
44.1kHz - Sampling Frequency determined by twice highest sampled
frequency. (Nyquist et al)
16 bits - number of bits per sample (determines hom many discrete levels
are sampled and how dynamic range is determined).
2 - number of discrete channels aka stereo

44100 x 16 x 2 = 1441200bps (PCM bit rate for CD quality)

Hesitant to commit this to the discussion as I would hate to find I have
been off course all these years.

Sorry Tim haven't been looking you up, I thought it came up in some of
our previous correspondence - around Christmas time.

I really appreciate all the help you've given me in this plug-in and the
BBC iPlayer instructions.

I'm a bit reluctant to start a new line of investigation as I know I
will be away very shortly and would probably have to leave it in
suspension. But I will be taking up your's and Philippe's suggestions as
soon as I get back.

It does thanks. If this is not too cold motivated for you, can you pull
one previous version, like the 0.2.0.0 and tell me if you have the same
problem ? Take the exec from github and then replace it in the
squeezebox plugin BIn directory (the exec name has changed in windows so

I set the buffer very large, rather than indefinite, although I'm on a
full-blown server. It can be set to be quite small if your space is
 limited.

Edit - your kbps looks very high. Are you upsampling in LMS?

There is a potential loophole when doing raw PCM. Normally a player
tells a list of its capability in a format of channel, samples size and
sample rate. and then I try to match with the stream info provided by
LMS when I receive a play request. This is only the case for PCM as the
format is not self-descriptive. But some players do not report the
sample_rate in the capabilities, so I cannot find an exact match. I
choose a while ago to try and see, but the result is that the player
does not know really the sample rate of the stream so it will play
anyway but potentially at the wrong rate, hence the pitch factor. You
can reproduce that with xbmc easily

The Duet Controller uses the same codebase as the Touch and Radio being
an ARM based system, and hence I speculate it can play AAC natively ie.
no transcoding required so it doesn't run faad.
