Loaded LMS on windows 8.1 machine and plugin works fine. I can log in ok
on MacBook but streaming is not working. My Mac says firewall is off but
something is preventing a proper linkup.

I rung a number and someone took over remote control of pc,I have
windows 7 installed on this pc that was not on my previous one when the
HLS streams launched,I am already protected with Microsoft security
essentials so a conflict was being caused, although why not with an mp3
stream or aac stream caused the concern.

Im pleased hls stream has not gone lol

Now then if only it were possible to hear BBC listen again 320 stream in
vlc player or itunes

Sorry to insist but it is precisely what happens with a firewall
problem. Squeeze2upnp has a webserver opened on port 49156 where the
'file to play' is available to be retrieved with HTTP request. But I
never see a request and the Onkyop complains that he never finds the URI

NB: BTW, normally default port is 49152, and if 49156 has been chose, it
means that 49152...49155 are taken, which is very strange - have you try
rebooting the machine runninf squeeze2upnp ? with the different issues
you had, I think that would be a 'sane 'start

Stop the bridge, erase any config file, maybe even stop LMS. Then start
LMS, start the bridge, wait 30-45 seconds, refresh the 'UPnP/DLNA

There is no cache of any sort, the only thing you should not do is to
keep the 'UPNP/DLNA Bridge' settings page open and then later click on
'apply'. That would overwrite your modification with whatever is set on
the UI page. Other than that, no special precaution needed

Thanks for the tip. It's strange because I wasn't moving from one player
to the other. The exact sequence of events was:
- Stop bridge (from the UI) and click Apply
- Edit the XML on the server (and save the file)
- Start bridge (from the UI) and click Apply

The edits that I applied in step 2 has been rolled back after step 3.

I guess I'm now running out of things to try. Is there any way of
finding out why the port isn't accessible? It's still possible for me to
select and play music on LMS from the Onkyo receiver (i.e. using the
Onkyo remote to select the music), so the comms link to the server seems
OK.

Ok I orderd a spowersupply that has for shure power: 5Amps @ 5V

http://www.meanwell.com/search/rs-25/RS-25-spec.pdf

Nothing better. Then I switched to LAN Cable and turn off the WiFi
stick

Still nothing better.

Then I shut down the Squeezebox server and turned ON my old Vortexbox
with the Sueezeboxserver

--> Works perfectly!!

So I'm sure that the problem comes from the Squeezeboxserver.

Any idea what to try next??

OK I've disabled the Windows firewall, but it made no difference (I
tried stream_length -1, -2, -3 and -4). So I then ran squeeze2upnp-win
(with the firewall still disabled) and got the output below:

All of the tracks that I've tried have been true mp3. I can select an
play them from the (clunky) Onkyo interface.

I've just tried a stream_length of 100,000,000 and but unfortunately
that didn't change anything. Does anyone here have an Onkyo setup that's
been successful?

Looking at the user guide, are the tracks true mp3s, or transcoded?
sq2u doesn't transcode itself, so there needs to be a match between the
onkyo expectation of mp3s and those delivered.

Have you tried a very large stream_length like 100,000,000?

I hardly ever use mp3 except for very occasional tests, and have not had

I'm also a bit out of my depth here. It's not impossible that the LMS
cache itself contains the config file, but I don't know for sure. I
think I stopped LMS before modifying the config file.

I had stream_length set to -2. I've tried -1, -3 and -4 but no luck.
Setting it to -1 and -3 caused a change in behaviour - when I hit the
playback button in the GUI the volume level of the receiver suddenly
increased (but it didn't play the mp3 - it just continued playing the
internet radio station that it was playing before). I've removed all
codecs except mp3, but still no luck. Also, when stream_length is set to
-3 the play/pause button in the GUI stopped/started the radio playback
(but again would not play back the selected mp3).

I'm having problems getting my changes to the xml file to "stick". I
stop the Bridge, edit and save the file, then restart the bridge and
find that my edits have been "forgotten". I guess the previous settings
are being restored from a cache somewhere, but is there a way around
this?

I am trying to use Custom Tags in Custom Clock. The tags
CUSTOMSCAN_MIXEDTAGS_OPUS AND CUSTOMSCAN_MIXEDTAGS_MOVEMENT are defined
as Title Formats in the Custom Scan various settings. I can see that
these are working OK by selecting and viewing them in the Web Interface.
In Custom Clock Helper, I have tried to set them as Title Formats in
"various settings". When I click "apply" it says that the settings are
saved, but does not display the Title Format in the list. Attempting to
use the Title Format in a tracktext item just results in the words
CUSTOMSCAN_MIXEDTAGS_OPUS etc being displayed. Any ideas what is going
wrong here?

I'm not aware of android-related issues. I occasionally use
SquezeCommander with a Touch, as well as UPnP devices, without
difficulty.

As to your Onkyo issue, when things don't work 1st time there are a
number of variables that can be tried. See
https://github.com/philippe44/LMS-to-uPnP/blob/master/doc/New%20user%20guide%20(with%20plugin).pdf
for an extended description. I rather suspect you may need to set
to some value other than -3 in the configuration file.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: squeeze2upnp, a bridge between LMS and uPNP devices

2015-06-13 Thread itm

OK so I shut down the Plex Server, but still no luck. Now when I select
the Onkyo from the players list (in the HTML GUI) and play a track the
receiver doesn't react at all (it was playing an internet radio station,
and continued to do so). The HTML GUI shows that my MP3 is playing on
the receiver however. So it seems that the server isn't sending anything
to the receiver.

I've also just tried using a couple of Android apps to playback from LMS
(the official Logitech app and Squeeze Commander). The Logitech app will
display a list of players (including the Onkyo), but will not allow me
to select any of them (the interface does not respond when I try to tap
on any of the players). Squeeze Commander seems to be connected to one
of my Squeezebox Booms upstairs, but will not let me switch to a
different player.

Is there any chance that the plug-in may be causing problems for the
Android apps connecting to LMS? I've tried disabling the Bridge and
restarting LMS but still the Android apps don't let me select any of the
players.

???

This is a common issue, certainly related to a missing prerequisite:
IO::Socket::SSL. Install libio-socket-ssl-perl (or your distro's package
that provides IO::Socket::SSL)
Search the forums, issue and resolution are already documented.

Can you shut down the Plex server whilst testing with LMS? It would
make it easier to diagnose issues. You shouldn't have to select a
server on your receiver since the plugin is acting as a 'control point'.

LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit,
44.1->192kbps. LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (to MF amp &
ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Minimserver (server) & upplay
(control point) to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to
Meridian USB Explorer DAC to speakers/phones. Wireless Xubuntu 15.04
laptop with firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with
Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver. Have a Touch
with EDO, plus spare, but unused.

Hi Will,

just try. I think stopping lms in ssods should do the trick. If not,
you'll proberbly get a message that the 9000 pprt is already in use when
installing LMSRepack through the Package Center. Ssods is completely
seperated from DSM, so you won't mess things up if you try.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*

2015-06-13 Thread willsy

Hi

I have a 212+ and would really like try this out.

I've uninstalled the Synology LMS but still have ssods and LMS 7.8
installed.

Can I leave SSODS and LMS 7.8 installed and just stop the LMS process
then try installing the new pink dot package?

Wanted to leave the current install on my NAS until I'm happy with the
new 7.9 package!

Thanks for all your hard work pink dot!

Cheers

Will

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: squeeze2upnp, a bridge between LMS and uPNP devices

2015-06-13 Thread itm

I've just discovered this plug-in - what a fabulous idea!

I'd like to use this to stream music to my Onkyo TX-NR515 receiver. I
managed to install the plug-in (on LMS 7.7.5 on Windows Server 2008),
and my Onkyo TX-NR515 is listed as a player, but when I play back any
MP3 tracks the amp displays the name of my Plex Media Server (running on
the same Windows box, for my video collection), and there is no audio
playback from the amp.

I'm guessing that I have a conflict between LMS and Plex, but have no
idea how to resolve it. Can anyone offer any advice?

If LMS is adding "/usr/music" to the playlist then the PlayHLS plugin is
not handling the URL.

It "feels" like the MIME associated with the URL is either not defined
or else already defined as an URL to be processed by LMS.
However without details the problem cannot be confirmed nor a solution
offered.

As always more info always helps. You should always provide detailed
additional info so that problem can be investigated rather than
speculated - it also saves time on both sides
What is the problem URL ?
What is yoiur version of LMS ?
What is the Plugin PlayHLS version ?
What version of ffmpeg have you installed ?
What is LMS running on ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer rebuffering

I have had this rebuffering problem for months now (BT Infinity
broadband). I have changed the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 this
morning, which seems to have made no difference, as R4 has broken up
several times already in the last 30 minutes. I only use Live radio.

Will take your advice and post on a rebuffering thread. But FYI I
changed the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and it is still terrible.
Radio 4 has re-buffered several times this morning already... I can't
believe BBC are this bad and it has been going on for months... I will
also try the radiofeeds suggested in a previous post.
