TV is otherwise occupied ... so can't do any testing until later. Suffice to say that other squeezelite' players I have, all play the aac stream without issue. SB Player works with mp3 files. All was going well with the triode plugins running on my NAS until yesterday when I updated Synology DSM. Now the radio no longer appears on the My Music / NAS page (although my itunes library still shows up and plays as normal). I looked at the LMS plugins page and the plugins are still installed, but at the top of the page are the following items. Anyone any ideas as the the cause/solution? Cheers. It's not all Androids bpa only Amazon Fire TV. It could be the firmware upgrade. When did you get your fire? Are you sure the update hasn't only been applied recently ie since 24/8? I am sure it did work. I'm also using the alpha plugin. So, we're no further forward. I think bpa has a test aac stream which might help to eliiminate some variables, if we can find it ... Ok, after some digging, it seems that BBC has discontinued certain streaming formats for some streams: http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/radio/changes_audio_formats The changes don't seem to be across the board, so that's probably why some streams still work. HLS is the only format that all the streams support. However, Squeezebox and LMS do not natively support HLS. Also, I don't have a FireTV so I can't test it directly. SB Player was lasted updated in June 2015, so if the problem started up recently, it is definitely not from any changes to the app. AAC decoding is done using the hardware's decoder (I don't really have a choice, I'll need a license if I want to do the decoding within the app). I will look for an alternate AAC stream but perhaps we should try the BBC again in the morning. It could be them that are having some server issue or other. In the meantime if wt0 sees this he might be able to throw some light on it. Pretty sure it's the fact that Triode plugin is sending 16/48. If I switch off AAC codec it sends as 16/48 FLAC but the fire still does not like it. Interestingly we have established that by default SB Player announces itself as 44.1 capable but that BBC Plugin / LMS still sends the stream as 16/48. Why would that be? LMS correctly down samples 24/96 FLAC to 14/44.1 etc but the BBC plugin seems fixed at the original HLS format 16/48. wt0 says that AAC in SBPlayer is set to be down sampled anyway and it works on his Nexus 7 and my Tab 3 but not on Anazon Fire TV.
