Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

2015-11-03 Thread AlecSp

So, finally got into my ReadyNAS NV+ v2 and installed this patch.

I did download and install the "Enable Root SSH access" add-on from
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24586

Then my SFTP connection to the NAS was to its IP address, user = root,
password = my normal password to the admin console.

Once in, the replacement of BBCXMLParser.pm and menu.opml was a piece of
cake in
/c/.squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/BBCiPlayer/

As with everyone else - thank you to those who continue to make our
squeezeboxes work in the face of everything the BBC throw at us.:D

admin = root so of course the file will transfer.
After you have put the new file onto the Qnap change the owner & group
to match the other files in the folder - something like
squeezeboxserver.swueezebixserver I can't remember exactly. You do this
by right clicking the file and selecting properties. You can only do
this after you have it the file onto the QNAP. Check the owner and
group of an existing file.

Then you can rename the old file or just drag the new one across.

19132

Click OK in the dialogue box and the file should transfer.

19133

I think that you should be able to do this as "admin", if it refuses to
transfer because of permission come back (I have not done this on my
Qnap for a long time, so can't remember the permission settings). you
may have to make yourself root, but I think that should be unlikely.

Perhaps a Qnap user who has done this can chip in here.

here is an expanded guide

Start WinSCp, fill in the boxes like this, with the LMS IP address, user

In the left open pane select desktop and navigate to the parser file

I have this weird problem: Ipeng starts to play another track than I
have selected.

Example:
- Multidisc album with 8 discs.
- using IPeng I select third track from disc 4
- IPeng starts to play totally different track

It seems that this problem is related to multidiscs albums. I only get
this kind of behaviour with ipeng.

Hi,

I had almost forgotten that this thread still existed!

As far as I am aware, you are correct, the answer is "no", although I
think you might be on the right track with Framework:pushAction(). That
function sends command to SBS using its API to start/stop players etc.
Maybe a plugin on the SBS server (such as this one?
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?69121-Execute-Script) could
intercept those and call a script? If that works then you might just
need to specify some custom playerActions in your SqueezeIR xml and have
the SBS plugin watch out for them. I'm not that familiar with *NIX so
not sure.

Running a script locally should work too (with a bit of a hack).
SqueezeIR uses os.execute() to call the c glue between lua and the ir
driver to do its stuff so it should work for other programs too (if
permissions allow). Take a look at TimerCallback() to see it in use.
The only other thing I can think of (and am not too sure about it
either) is to use RequestHTTP() to invoke a url on the server to invoke
the script.

The wunderground version requires you to get an API key from
wunderground.com. It's free (sign up for a developer key).

The Host name is how the NAS is identified on the network this can be a
"Host Name" or IP address.
The username and password will be for the service on the NAS you are
connecting to (Usually SSH or SFTP)

If you are running windows it might be an idea to get "Netscan"
https://www.softperfect.com/products/networkscanner/
This can scan your network and get the hostanme / ip address for you
