No what I mean is you can specify s complete ip:port or just an ip or just :port. If all you want is speed up the mdns detection and don't care about the port used for the web server offered, then you can just specify the ip address LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. So going small buffer was the wrong direction (I did that at the beginning because I was misleading by another bug). So I think now the problem is an overload I was creating on the host & guest UDP/IP stacks by sending audio too quickly. I've now paced that much more efficiently and it has been flawless on my system since then. Increase the buffer to at least 3000 ms and then try again. Just to say a big thank you to Michael for the work he's put in to re-enable (most of) the Spotify functionality. The broken search was generating complaints from the family so really pleased to have a solution so quickly. For other technically challenged people like me, I disabled Triode's spotify plugin then restarted the LMS. I then enabled Michael's Spotify Protocol Handler and the Logitech Spotify plugin via the Plugins tab on the LMS Settings web page. Restarted again, to be on the safe side. Set the Spotify username and password for the Spotify Protocol Handler in the settings. I then went to http://www.mysqueezebox.com/appgallery and added the spotify app and configured it for my account. Restarted LMS again! Lo and behold, the Spotify app was visible in the My Apps section on the LMS web page and it worked :D BTW I play the music through Duet Receivers in several rooms, but control them using Squeeze Commander on my android phone and tablet. The Spotify icon is in the main menu in Squeeze Commander which is great. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
Some of the playlists are changing permanently, so thats not an option. I just committed a change to LMS 7.9 which should allow to play album/artist/playlist spotify URIs. I'll have to test it further. It would be great if you could download and install tomorrow's build and try to run your playlist URI through the web UI's Radio/Play URL input field. If this is working, then you'll be able to use a URL as yours with the "playlist play" command (instead of spotifyplay). As for now, I got back to the Triode Plugin for the automation aspect. Maybe iŽll take a look for a workaround this weekend. If thereŽs a possibility to get the old functionality with the new plugin iŽd be thrilled! The feature I implemented is something we have wanted to have in LMS for several years. I don't know why we never implemented it. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify on Squeezeboxes Linked to Spotify Mobile and Desktop Devices
Does anybody know if there is any way to browse using the official spotify mobile and desktop apps but push the currently playing tracks to Squeezebox? I've noticed if you're browsing on the mobile app you can tap the "devices" available option and switch between the desktop and phone for playback. Is this just native to the official spotify apps or can it be extended to squeezebox? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)
Something I did to find the "right" value of player audio delay: I created an AIFF file with alternating 2secs L/R tones, for a total length of 60 secs. I set an SB3 to play only the right channel, [I wanted to do the opposite with the software player but I always got both channels output] I half-unplugged the audio cord on my Airport Express to output the left channel only. Then I synced the group, played the file in loop and fiddled with the audio delay slider on the software player. Until you reach the right value to your setup and ears, you'll hear a silence gap and/or both sources at the same time. To my surprise, the right value for this device was around 400ms (nearly 50ms higher than I thought) I don't know what you think of the idea but if felt I needed some help in assessing the right audio delay. 4 SB 3 Libratone Loop mk.2 iPeng (iPhone + iPad) Squeezebox Server 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson AirPlay Bridge by philippe_44 WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105198 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Booohoohooh... I've removed my dev install and now I get redirection limit exceeded when I try any of the 2 repo urls :( (so LMS always wants to restart to finish install and fails and asks again for a restart...) I messed about with things like "curl http://iweb.dl.sourceforge.net/projects/lms-to-raop/dev/repo-sf.xml; until I landed on the final redirection, in my case "http://freefr.dl.sourceforge.net/project/lms-to-raop/dev/repo-sf.xml; --as of right now. Don't try this URL. But the problem is that your repo file contains a link to iweb for the zip file... Sourceforge is in a serious state of flux, shall we say... Perhaps it's time to revert to manual install instructions? I'll try again later, perhaps the weather will clear up a little bit. But I thought I'd post in case others encounter an issue with installing. 4 SB 3 iPeng (iPhone + iPad) Squeezebox Server 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld ShairTunes2 by disaster123 Local Player by Triode Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105198 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Checking in your desktop or mobile Spotify app, do you have any albums or artists added to your library? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotify Protocol Handler - play Spotify on all your Squeezeboxen
So, I guess I'm just wondering - is this the trade-off that we have to live with now? Continue using the Triode plugin and not be able to search in Spotify (unless some miraculous fix is forthcoming via Spotify API or Mr Triode) or use Michael's Spotify protocol Handler with the official Spotify plugin and lose all those nice features? You can still use them both in parallel as outlined elsewhere. And some of the deficiencies you mentioned will be ironed out soon. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hmm, just checking - I can see Spotify in the "my apps" menu on jivelite on my client machine, but I can't see it on the LMS web interface - is this the expected behavior? Unfortunately the spotify app on the player doesn't work either - it just hangs there waiting. :( "To try to judge the real from the false will always be hard. As a general rule, cache entries will expire in about 15 mins if you leave the system alone making sure nothing references the BBC menus (i.e. make sure players playlist are empty) . Each time you try a bad cache entry you reset the lifetime. > I have tried simply restarting LMS but that does not work. You probably didn't wait long enough between stopping LMS and starting LMS with newer faster system you need to wait a couple of minutes when taking this approach to clearing cache. If you want to delete the cache file - make sure LMS is stopped and delete the cache.db file in the LMS Cache directory. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103312 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
Http would be great because it works on nearly every device, if that's not possible maybe cli and telnet could work? HTTP isn't the limitation here. It's the parsing of Spotify's playlist URI. Triode's plugin used to expand them automatically into a list of tracks - using the same lookup method which no longer is available. I'd have to re-implement this using the new API. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
