It works fine on my router after set the in the
configuration file, in addition to that, I also specified the server's
ip address use the -s option.

One possible interpretation of that tweet is that the database and

Your library information as of 6/1 can still be used for Smart Mix, but

so far everything working great - going to be out of the house for a

Yeah, random (ish) behaviour is the worst to try and pin down - still
think it's something to do with W2012 Server but have run out of things
to turn on/off. So back to my earlier question:

-"Right - deep breath - I have little Linux experience so what's the
easiest, least painful way of getting a) a suitable Linux environment up
and running and then, b) installing/running LMS under it?

(sorry, I know this isnt really a 3rd Party Plugin / BBC iPlayer
question, but if I post it out of the blue elsewhere then the context
will be lost).

My MP3 files reside on a NAS (Lenovo ix2, inherited from work place) on
the same LAN so I'll need to be able to access network shares/map disc
drives/whatever the Linux equivalent terminology is. Other than that I
cant think of any non-standard things that will be involved (other than
running it under a W2012 Server VM but I've some prior experience of
that so dont expect that to be an issue)."-

?

Mine often goes missing, along with the router (both hard wired)

this utility helps me find them again

WinScp will find the usb drive, user "root" should allow to drag and
drop music files.

It was worth a try - this problem is a real pain as it is noit possible
to reproduce on demand and so not possible to track down root cause. It
seems to be localised to certain regions and/or at certain times.
Complicated by the fact that different version of Windows/windows based
system has different behaviour.

I had a windows system running for a while and I would get short bursts
of the problem every so often but all I could do was add lots of
diagnostics and hope but they showed nothing of significance.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Simple Library Views plugin

2016-06-03 Thread adhawkins

Thanks both for the response. If it's useful to more than just me, then
I'll try to get a v1.0 release out in the next few days.

I have some ideas for making it more useful, primarily around the
configuration of library views. I'd like to be able to specify library
views that are combinations of others.

e.g. For the music I use in a random mix at work:

andy and not audiobooks

If anyone has any other suggestions for improvements, then I think the
best way is to log them as change requests at GitHub:

https://github.com/adhawkins/SimpleLibraryViews/issues

I'll start adding a few of my own ideas there, look forward to hearing
any others.

Below how I've got it filled out. Actually copying music doesn't work
yet for me (files local on server not yet implemented), but mix creating
does, connection to the server as well.

- "Music Location Server Name": Just fill out what you like, most
logical is the real "name" of your server
- "Music Location IP Address": this needs to be the real IP of the
server where MusicIP finds the music to scan
- "Music Location Username": Username needed to connect to the server
where MusicIP finds the music to scan
- "Music Location Password": Password needed to connect to the server
where MusicIP finds the music to scan
