Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Software player, for Windows, supporting Spotify?
Forget what I said, I just got it working... I dont know what the hell is going on. I've had three updates coming in this evening. After the second, and not getting it to work, I gave up and installed my second Touch (my Touch then found a new software and installed it). After that I played a few songs through the Touch and then wrote the previous post. Having written it, I just remembered that I hadn't checked if I was logged in in the Spotify protocol handler. I was not - and after logging in, it works! No skipping, and pure sound coming out of my new speakers. Life is good :) Thanks everyone for helping me closing in on this! Big thanks :) ButC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57330 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106207 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Software player, for Windows, supporting Spotify?
I tried it. I also tried the Local Player plugin. I'm having the same problem I'm having with Squeeze Player on my HTC (and every other phone I've tried) - songs through Spotify just skips, and no sound... I noticed a weird thing this time: While the song was playing as it should (no skipping; still no sound, though) in Orange Squeeze, it was skipping away in the web GUI... If others can use Spotify with both Squeeze Play and Squeeze Player, I believe there must be something wrong with my Spotify account. Hello Forum, since I switched from version 7.8 to 7.9 the Dynamic Mix Plugin does not work anymore. Anything else is working fine. The problem is, that I can not interact with that Plugin anymore. I've noted here in Ireland (BBC stream 96k ISP 10Mbs ADSL) - on a weekday I can play a BBC live stream from 9:30am until 4:00pm without an error and then the problems start with long delays - I don't know whether it is my local ISP (e.g. contention) or BBC CDNs but clearly network traffic matters. BTW there used to be similar pattern in packet delays when BBC used RealAudio but for other reason it wasn't noticeable. 2. Each TCP connection requires a DNS lookup - when similar problem were found with HLS in Mar 2015 - Windows DNS caching was identified as a contributor. I'm working on trying to get a persistent TCP version of the plugin but it takes time. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

While this is OK for a web page as there is usually a pause while user reads a page - for audio this means many many TCP short connections being made for a period of time - I think this stresses some systems and the system includes: BBC, CDNs, ISP and LMS server. Until I have a test version of BBCiPlayer with persistent TCP - I cannot prove this theory. Thats said, where are you located ? what sort of network connections ? when did you do your testing ? If UK based, have you tested at about 11.00am on weekdays ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Similarly, Jivelite on my PC shows no BBC icons. However using the LMS interface, they are all there. Also, they show up in Squeeze Commander. My BBC stream preferences are set to HLS>MP3>FlashAAC>FlashMP3. I'm running the iPlayer plugin v 1.3.1alpha3 and have the PlayHLS v1.1 plugin enabled. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer with DASH support - test version
OK, I did some more investigation; As I said earlier I have a combination of Radios and a Boom. The iPlayer constant rebuffering issue only ever occurs on the Boom. Testing regime, I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine as a master server. I did clean, fully updated, installs of Windows10 and Windows7 in separate Virtual Machines. Installed nothing except LMS7.9 and bpa's Dash iPlayer plugin on each. The Win7 machine would happily serve anything to any player and in any sync combinations. I tried FLAC, AAC streams and iPlayer in both DASH and HLS priority settings. All worked perfectly. The Win10 machine would also serve everything EXCEPT IPLAYER TO THE BOOM. The Boom worked perfectly for anything other than iPlayer, including high bitrate AAC streams. Either iPlayer DASH or HLS to the Boom caused frequent multi-second rebuffering events making it unusable. Flicking between the two servers this effect was 100% reproducible. For me the answer to the rebuffering issue will be to leave the Win7 VM on my network to just run LMS however that isn't an ideal solution for everyone! Hopefully this will help bpa isolate the issue although it seems another case of Win10 breaking more than it fixes. Reg. Have you tried to sync it with other players using iTunes - the fact that it's shairtunes is a bit scary wrt that capability as most of the integrations are very poorly made by guys that have no idea of what they are doing - at least this is what I've seen so far @castalla: you must have a million speakers and audio gears at home :) LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2.
