The app isn't a server and doesn't use any incoming ports so firewall is usually not a problem. Thanks for chiming in Michael - but what appears to be happening is once checked, the check mark doesn't stick, so there is nothing to uncheck to remove the photo from the favorites folder. Out of curiosity I've just checked R4 on Freesat againast BBC browser Radio HTML5/DASH player and also dasif.org DASH reference player - both have delays of about 60secs compared to Freesat. What version of plugin areyou using ? Do you have any delay between pressing play and hearing audio ? As I posted earlier the MP3 streams are about 40 secs later than real time (i.e. LW/Freesat) - I don't believe any of the internet stream have less delay - time to write to bBC and perhaps they'll stop LW/Freesat. With a few tweaks I can get the DASH stream down to about 40 secs but then the start delay gets more noticeable so I'm not sure it is worth it. LMS has a buffer threshold it won't start playing until buffer has a certain amount of data which gets difficult to manage as DASH is chunked http. So you have a choice. 1. Minimal delay - play MP3 streams and accept slightly lower quality for UK listeners (UK 128kbps vs 320kbps, Non-UK 128kBps vs 96kbps). 2. A little more delay but ability to go back in time and/or better quality for UK listeners- DASH. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Radio delayed by over a minute (I saw 68 seconds this morning), that starts to be annoyingly long. It's my fault the BBC News channel ticker and overlay no longer has seconds on the clock. 13ish years ago I added NTP sync to the IPTV set top boxes I was developing code for, and added display of seconds to the clock on the channel overlay and EPG. Kingston Communications customers (who were using the boxes) complained the time on the boxes was wrong, they assumed BBC News clock was bang on. I was able to show with an atomic clock receiver that the set top boxes were to within 1 second (a room of 20 of them all showing the same time to a tenth of a second is a bit spooky). So the problem got bounced to the BBC who quickly concluded with all the unknowable video encoding and decoding delays the onscreen clock could never be bang on to the second, so they removed the seconds from the display. The Kingston customers stopped complaining since the video clock to one minute accuracy matched the stb clock to one second accuracy closely enough. But with a delay over one minute even that would have looked wrong. Less than one second having tried it just now. My experience is atomic clock receivers make no attempt to synchronise their display update to the actual clock (I have three consumer level atomic clock receivers), so within a second is a close as I can tell. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] New plugin for audio bookmarks
I uploaded Version 1.2.4 with a few bugfixes/ code cleanups and an additional context menu to update a "frozen" bookmark. The following is only useful for or people who like to listen to audio books or radio plays before falling asleep and who use a Radio or Boom as a bedside radio: If you like you can setup useful macro functions for the preset buttons 1 to 6 of these devices. You will need the "KidsPlay" plugin for that, but unfortunately the repository for KidsPlay is gone. If you don't have it installed already, you would need to install it manually. I have attached a copy of the most recent version to this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?106182-Assign-either-a-script-or-a-menu-item-to-a-squeezebox-boom-preset-button=kidsplay It still works fine with the 7.9 server. If you have never used it: After installing it (by extracting it to the plugin folder of the server) you will find a new menu in the player settings for Radio and Booom devices. There you can assign CLI macros to the preset buttons of these players. Here is a short howto: 1) Create a playlist with audio books or plays - it does not really matter how many tracks are in there or how long the tracks are, but keep it smaller than the limit defined in the server settings (AFAIK thats 500 tracks by default) 2) Create a macro to play this playlist. Here i also added a sleep timer (with "sleep 3600"), so playback will automatically stop after one hour. The following code uses "MyPlaylist" for the name of the playlist. Cange this to the name of your playlist. Note: You need to replace any space character in the name of your playlist with "%20" Code: power 1; stop; playlist clear; sleep 3600; playlistcontrol cmd:load playlist_name:MyPlaylist play_index:0 So with a single push of a button the Radio or Boom will play your playlist for one hour (or whatever time you defined in the macro). 3) Define a macro for another button which will freeze the bookmark for the playlist. It will also create a bookmark if there isn't already one and update an existing bookmark, even it is frozen: Code: show "line1:Freeze!" duration:2 centered:1; bookmarkhistory addcurrentplaying bookmarkhistory updatefrozen; bookmarkhistory freeze current; If you push this button the bookmark is frozen at the current position. In the next evening just fast foward to the position where you fell asleep in the night before and push this button again (to update the frozen bookmark). 4) If you like, you can also add a macro to another button to unfreeze the currently played bookmark: Code: show "line1:Unfreeze!" duration:2 centered:1; bookmarkhistory unfreeze current; I defined the macros for the preset buttons 4-6 of my bedside radio: 4: Freeze Bookmark 5: Unfreeze Bookmark 6: Play playlist "Bedroom" This allows me to operate the radio at bedtime without even having to look at the display, which i find rather convinient. Since there will only be a few people using this i didn't test it extensively - at least it works in my setup. If you want to give it a try please check that you are using version 1.2.4 of the plugin and let me know if if you find any bug. sternenjaeger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57562 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102859 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The difference between akamai clock and atomic clock should be related to the network transit time and can vary from user to user. Most noticable would probably be users on satellite data links. All live DASH streams packets are numbered sequentially - the number is basically current akamai UTC time divided by packet duration time (for BBC about 6.4secs). This also make it easy to start playing a stream at an earlier time. However if the packet number is calculated wrong and is ahead of broadcast stream - 404 error will be returned. If it is too old then a 410 Gone error will be returned. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104672 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
