Nothing strange as I can see. I started with Jessie on one PI2 and then
I moved to Stretch with two separate PIs just to see if things go
better. The only thing I have is a complete management of my
name/addresses under DNS. One of the two pIs is dns server for my home
domain (int.fmal.com) that is delegated from an external public server
fmal.com. This canonical setting seems to be very difficult to manage
together with mdns, but I have several server packages running on both
PIs to manage domotic and they are all running. Only the multimedia
environment is not well tuned. I have forked-daapd as first attempt to
manage Airplay and it also show mdns problems ...

It's available (from Germany) - and it's great!
Thank you for including the sleep menue so quickly!

One general question:
Does anyone know why this skin is not showing when accessing it though
an older iPhone ( an 4s w/ iOS 9.35 as well as a 4 w iOS 7.1)?
The same is true for the other mobile skin diskusses on this forum:
https://github.com/molobrakos/lms-mobileskin/blob/master/src/HTML/m/index.html

This is independent from the browser used (Safari / Chrome / Opera)

The std. skin (:9000) works w/o issues on these devices.
The mobile skins just show a blank page w/o error.

Any ideas??

(Technical background: LMS writes 3 wierd characters ( (hex
%EF%BB%BF)) at the start of a playlist file, which I already had to work
around when reading it from other applications. The plugin, however,
only uses the LMS API, so this is the first time I've seen LMS having
problems reading it's own playlists. Not sure how to handle this, maybe
I'll file an issue with Logitech))

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)

2018-11-04 Thread gorman

Installed it on LMS 7.9.1 and it appears to work just fine. I had some
problems because all the different YT authorizations (oauth, keys, etc.)
ended up with a space in front of them in the settings page. Since I did
not add a space (for both ID client and secret OAuth I used google's
built in function to copy to clipboard), I wonder whether the space was
there by default and I simply pasted after it.
Plugin version is 0.82.0 from standard repository.

Now everything works fine. Looking forward to HLS support, hoping it
will allow to select best audio track available or something like that.

Thanks for this, much appreciated! :)

How odd. To get the extra modes Material calls -["pref",
"plugin.extendedbrowsemodes:additionalMenuItems", "?"]-. What this does
is return the -additionalMenuItems- setting from the preferences of the
-extendedbrowsemodes- plugin. Perhaps even after the plugin is
uninstalled, the preferences remain - and LMS returns those? Do you have
a -extendedbrowsemodes.prefs- file within your LMS install?

I've just done the following:

- Created a dummy browse mode in Additional Browse Modes (as I had
  none)
- Checked this is listed
- Removed the Addtional Browse Modes plugin
- Restarted LMS
- Additional browse modes still returned

So, LMS does not remove a plugins prefs file when it is removed, and it
will return preferences for these even when its not installed. For now,
yes just remove the file, and I guess I need to confirm the plugin is
enabled before getting its preferences.

This is the contents of extendedbrowsemodes.prefs. there does not seem
to be any thing in there relating to individual players.

There is support of DASH (HLS is not supported by YT, they went - no
surprise - DASH), that was my most recent addition. The highest audio
quality is selected and now only audio is downloaded, at least in case
of DASH. I will not make that a user option because it will just create
more confusion for no benefit, but under the hood, this is what's
happening.

I've been a user of SDT, on my two Squeeze Classics... forever it seems.
I really rely on the damn things for weather, for sports scores, etc.

I haven't been here on the forum for a LONG time... probably a couple of

then life got in the way and I was using tcutting's WU version.

Well, I had some problems today after a restart, and returned here. Saw
the WU API was being fazed out, and moved to BoomX2's version. It took
me a while... but I've successfully converted.

I just wanted to thank BoomX2 and the community for keeping SDT alive

BoomX2... you really SHOULD update the Donate button with your info; At

That is what I implemented in 1.7.13. @TOGGLE_MUTING sends the mute
toggle command to the currently selected player and it is a toggle
option with a Check indicator in the tray menu.

I've just searched in the code to confirm - and there is no hard-coded
mention of Composers or Conductors, so they are not coming from any
hard-coding. The stated list is hard coded. The extra modes that will be
listed within Material's -More- setting come from the -Additional Browse
Mode- setting - as defined in the main webUI under Settings / Advanced
/
Additional Browse Modes. Material reads the non-player specific
setting.

The *only* ones that are hard-coded are; Artists/Album Artists/All
Artists (and here this changes due to the combine artist option),
Albums, Genres, Playlists, Compilations, Random Albums, Years, New
Music, Random Mix (but this is fixed for next version, where its only
there if the plugin is installed), and Music Folder. Any other modes
will come from what is added to the Additional Browse Modes settings.

Previous releases had a "Composers" and "Conductors" hard-coded (but
only if there were no additional browse modes defined) - but these have
been removed in 0.0.7

The reason that the above list is hard-coded, and not controlled by the
check-boxes in the Additional Browse Modes settings - is that these
checkboxes are per-player. Whilst this makes sense for menus shown on a
specific player - I do not think it makes sense for a controller
controlling all players.

I was asking for sdebug, not debug. It's an extra level that might let
me know when the crash is happening. Otherwise, if you know how to use
gdb, I can build a version with debugging symbols. If all you want to do
is sendign from Openhab to AirPlay devices you might want to try my
raop_player application there https://github.com/philippe44/RAOP-Player.
All it does is sending an audio file. I've not really tested it for a
while, but I've updated it constantly as it uses the same core as
squeeze2raop

When I stated player-specific, this was in reference to the checkboxes.
-Server Settings > Player > Additional Browse Modes.- The extended modes
(where you set the name, list type, genre, etc) are global (i.e. for all
players).

I have now, for 0.0.8, added a check to see if the plugin is enabled
before getting its list of modes.

I know that you don't want to implement SlimBrowse for the music menus.
But you could still take the result of the "menus" query to figure out
which browse modes the user had configured. No messing with settings,
plugins etc. Just use what LMS is telling you anyway?

I could, but SlimBrowse is per-player. Which means the configured browse
modes can be different per-player. Which makes sense when its a menu on
the player - but not on a control for all players. I don't want to
(potentially) change the list of modes each time I change which player
is being controlled. I have SqueezeCtrl on Android, and find it weird
that if I change player my browse goes back to the root. Which means I
need to ensure I'm on the correct player, before I navigate to an album.

OK. If composers is checked in the player settings does clicking on a
composer drill down to a list of albums or tracks? At the moment in my

In the iOS app, I believe the tracks are shown dimmed and cannot be
played back. Interestingly though, the parental control setting is
changed from within the app, so not very hard for the kids to find out
how to disable it. Probably with a proper Spotify family account there
is a better solution, I dont know?

Anyhow, it would be nice to have a similar feature in Spotty. The
parental control could preferably be enabled/disabled in the LMS web UI,
and then tracks would be listed but play back disabled (automatically
skipped). It would also be nice if cover images of albums containing a
lot of explicit content could also be replaced with a generic image. I
remember when my 5-year old son searched for something completely
innocent in the former Spotify app when suddenly the not very
child-friendly cover image of the Rammstein album Sehnsucht appears in
his face (Thank you Rammstein!). Would of course be nice if such
situations could be prevented!! ;|

Material has *no* composers setting. If Composers is showing, then it
*must* by a mode that you have configured. In this configuration, you
state if its albums or artists that should be shown. The returned items
-should- be the same as in the default web UI.

I've just tried and I get the same list of items - however, I get no
album covers. So, one more bug to fix...

What are the settings? I have no real composers (but some tracks have
this tag), and as stated I tried, and I get the same results.

Yes. Eitherway, what harm does it do to list a browse you do not use?
For example, I do not use Albums, Genres, Compilations, Year, New Music,
Music Folder, ...

I could, but SlimBrowse is per-player. Which means the configured browse
modes can be different per-player. Which makes sense when its a menu on
the player - but not on a control for all players.

I wouldn't agree. If I pick up a controller to control my sons' device,
then it's to control their music, not mine. OTOH when controlling my
device I don't want to see their music. I want per player control.

Do you have virtual libraries? Perhaps the issue is there?

But you see the same music. Its just the modes of browsing that would be
different. The Artists list will be the same for both - just one might
have a "Composer" browse mode, and the other not.

To filter the music would mean changing the library - and the skin does
support virtual libraries.

Sorry, where do you add it from? Were you adding it from Material skin?
I'm not sure what the above is in reference to. How do you have no way
of knowing what a track is?

Can you use a command-line? Do you have curl installed? If so, what does
the following return (replace -lms-server-address- with the IP or
hostname of your LMS server):

Code:

curl http://lms-server-address:9000/jsonrpc.js --data
'{"id":1,"method":"slim.request","params":["",["artists",0,100,"role_id:COMPOSER"]]}'

This is the command that Material will send for "artists" using the
"COMPOSER" tag.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC IPlayer Listen Again Search Yielding Limited Results

2018-11-04 Thread milk

Recently, actually maybe quite a while ago, the Listen Again search has
started returning incomplete results. For example searching Friday on
Radio 4 FM is yielding one result.
IPlayer Extras is working fine so it is still easy to find programs.
Forgive me if this is a known issue, I was not able to find a relevent
thread.

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1522157629
BBC IPlayer: v1.6.0 (betarelease-repo)
Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8
Platform Architecture: armv7l-linux
Perl Version: 5.20.2 - arm-linux-gnueabihf-thread-multi-64int

Thanks to everyone who helps to keep LMS going and to *bpa* for
maintaining the IPlayer plugin which something I use nearly every day.

I was adding the track from the composer list in Material Skin. Since
clicking on the composer produces no results I don't know what is listed
under that composer. If I click on the three dots at the right of the
composer name and choose play next then the tracks are added to the
queue at which point I can see what they are. I'll try the command and
report back.

Ah! I can see this now! Well for some entries, the browsing works, other
not. Looks liker where artist=composer it works, otherwise not. I look

Yes I can confirm this. The vast majority of composers in my list are
not the same as the artist. The first one I tried where the name is
exactly the same I do get a list of albums. Good detective work.

Yeah, I know the cause. When listing composers there's a
"role_id:COMPOSER" set, but this is not the used when asking for albums
by a 'composer' - so the location fails. I've fixed this for the next
release. The fix for this also make it so that if you have an album
artist that has 1 track on another album (e.g. a Various Artists) album,
then only that 1 track is shown. This mirrors what I see in the default
web UI. However, I like seeing all tracks - so I'll make this bit
optional (or use a server setting, if I find a corresponding one -
[EDIT] In fact there is a setting in the server for this, so I'll use
and respect that).

0.0.8 will have this fixed.

That is just a normal program listing. It works OK for me - so the issue
is not the plugin or the BBC.

There are other program on that FRiday such as book of the week - is
there an entry for Friday 9:45 for "Book of the week" under the program
name headings below the days of the week listings ?

The listing are filtered by the date/time on your system. Is the
date/time as seen by LMS (i.e. entries in log file) correct ? What time
zone etc ?

Thanks for the quick responses

The normal listing is also incomplete but its harder to see because
there are still quite a lot of programs (34 on Radio 4 to be exact)

'Book of the week' is not listed

The first few I see are...
A Point of view
Analysis
Bells on Sunday
Big Broadcast
Desert Island Discs
Drama
Feedback
File on 4
Gardeners' Question Time
Last Word

Previously the daily listing would show everything on that day and the
main listing would show all recent programs for that channel

My timezone is UK and OOP! my clock is showing 29th October, I'll adjust
and see what happens

I looked through the source of the web page that you linked to and found
two likely candidates.
I tried the first one and it brought up a web page (but that still might
have worked with a different web browser user agent),
I tried the second one and it worked.

Another way of doing it would have been to play the original page in a
web browser and then use browser developer tools to see which URL is
playing.

But you see the same music. Its just the modes of browsing that would be
different.

No, it's not the same music. I implemented library views because I
didn't want to see my kids' music, and they only wanted to see theirs.

To filter the music would mean changing the library - and the skin does
support virtual libraries.

You can expose a browse menu which is limited to a library view without
switching the library. Right now (0.0.7) I'm getting the kids music
right at the top of my "More" menu. Definitely what I had in mind when I
implemented this :-).

But this skin is your baby, not mine. I'm just trying to show the way I
am using LMS. And many users might have become accustomed to the way LMS
does things.

his face (Thank you Rammstein!). Would of course be nice if such
situations could be prevented!! ;|

In that case that filter might have worked. Alas: the explicit flag is a
track property you wouldn't get with the album list. I'd have to
download all track information in order to take the decision what
artwork to show. Which simply is not practical.

I checked on my CC and I have artwork with Spotty. I'd have to dig into
some previous discussion, but there was something related to either
artork size, format or URL (w/ or w/o port, local or not). My settings
for image resizing is to use mysqueezebox.com and "pre-cache album
artwork" and I think these mattered.

This is also an info I was missing. I should read more ...

TY again!

The current 'Additional Browse Modes" ignores the library_id setting -
I'll fix this for the next release.

I can see your point of view. And I assume for your usage scenario you
have (e.g.) "Michael's Music" mode, which is only shown on certain
players. And, I can see why this would be nice on a hardware player - so
as to limit the number of choices. But for a web UI I'm not 100%
convinced on the need for separate views per player. This would mean
that when your son, is in another room they cannot see their selection
of music, only what is shown for the player in that room.

IMHO, the idea of a global library view makes more sense. Then your son
simply sets that in his controller, and whichever room he's in / player
he's using, he gets the same list of choices.
