I have experienced this, and not only the RP logo, but stuck artwork from several songs before. Tony mentioned using skip, but I have gone back, then reselect, get the artwork proper again. I have also experienced when I do go back and reselect, it might start from, say 2-3 songs before (i.e. I'll hear the previous 2-3 songs again). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
I'm setting-up a V4.1.0 piCorePlayer system on a RPi 3B+ with RPi touch display and the SuperDateTime screensaver V5.10.29. I'm having a problem with getting the SDT screen saver to display weather data after reboots. Nothing is shown until I run the SuperDateTime app and click on Current Conditions a couple of times. After that the SDT screen saver works just fine. Is there a way to "seed" the weather data after a reboot so that the screen saver just works? Hi philippe_44, I have been happily using Logitech Media Server on Linux for over ten years, but unfortunately my Squeezebox recently died. So, I decided to replace it with a DLNA/UPnP compatible Onkyo receiver and use Squeeze2upnp instead. I have spent the last two days testing this new configuration and it works well with only one problem, whenever the receiver goes into standby LMS "drops" the receiver and it is no longer available as a player... :( Is there any way around this please? It's gone here now. I rebooted several times, but that did nothing. I disabled and enabled this and that (audio devices. Apparently, I have a lot), which didn't do anything either. It's definitely a problem with plugin since it doesn't even work correctly on a Squeezebox Controller (the remote for Duet). I generally don't put fixes in Squeeze Ctrl for errors in the plugin, since I'll probably have to undo the fix once the plugin is fixed. Are there multiple libasound files lib direcory - check by doing a "ls -l" command as follows Code: ls -l /volume1/@appstore/AudioStation/lib/libasound* On my linux syustem I get the following Code: @minitower$ ls -l /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libasound* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Dec 19 04:25 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libasound.so -> libasound.so.2.0.0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Dec 19 04:25 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libasound.so.2 -> libasound.so.2.0.0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1075496 Dec 19 04:25 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libasound.so.2.0.0 Note the current libasound is libasound.so.2.0.0 - all others link to it. Similarly on your system you need to find the "higher" versions (i.e. libasound.so and libasound.so.2) and replicate the files as links in the squeezelite directory something like the following. Code: ln -s /volume1/@appstore/AudioStation/lib/libasound.so.2.0.0 /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/LocalPlayer/Bin/squeezelite-x86-64/libasound.so ln -s /volume1/@appstore/AudioStation/lib/libasound.so.2.0.0 /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/LocalPlayer/Bin/squeezelite-x86-64/libasound.so.2 Do a "ls -l" afterwards to check the link are correct - then check if squeezelite can be run without the LD_LIBRARY_PATH ? I made the script work, used the wrong shell, /bin/bash instead of /bin/sh. > The right issue seems to be with the audio device, running the script as > admin gives: > > [09:43:29.142435] stream_init:294 init stream > [09:43:29.144389] output_init_alsa:939 init output > [09:43:29.144496] output_init_alsa:979 requested alsa_buffer: 88200 > alsa_period: 1298 format: 16 mmap: 1 > [09:43:29.146061] ALSA _snd_pcm_hw_open:1401 Invalid value for card > [09:43:29.146163] test_open:281 playback open error: No such file or > directory > [09:43:29.146189] output_init_common:384 unable to open output device: > hw:0,0 > Possibly. Is there an "id" command - if so then find the following What is the groupid of admin ? ("id -g admin") What groups does admin belong ("id -G admin") You did a check for the audio group a while back - Is admin in the audio group ? Time to check the Alsa devices permissions. ALSA devices are in the /proc/asound directory. If you do a "ls -l" on /proc/asound I expect there is a file called "Streamer" whic is linked to directory card0 If you "ls -l" /proced/asound/card0 - there should be files somehting like Code: -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 id dr-xr-xr-x 3 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 pcm0c dr-xr-xr-x 3 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 pcm0p dr-xr-xr-x 3 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 pcm1p -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 stream0 -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 stream1 -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 usbbus -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 usbid -r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 26 10:13 usbmixer What are the permission & ownership of the card0 directory ? What are the permission & ownership of the "pcm*" directories in the card0 directory ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97766 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Have noticed in latest version, using Connect the track progress indicator within the Spotify app on the device I use does not progress and just shows track duration when connecting to one of my squeezebox players. The web interface and Orange Squeeze do show track progress correctly in this case. If on the same Android device (Samsung Tab4 tablet) I play something on the device itself the progress indicator works, not a problem for me music plays fine:) but thought I would report in case others see this too. This is brilliant, I am learning as I go. Thank you so much for your kind assistance and patience, you are a great and very helpful person! Seems we need to go with the script option, no luck with step 1 or 2. I made the script work, used the wrong shell, /bin/bash instead of /bin/sh. So, this is what I have: The script file is in the local player folder, it contains this: #!/bin/sh LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/volume1/@appstore/AudioStation/lib /volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/LocalPlayer/Bin/squeezelite-x86-64 -d all=info -a 88200:1298:16:1 -o hw:0,0 It works from command line. The binary is the new one that works. Rights for all files are admin/users. I didn't change the original ones installed by LMS, they had the same ownerships. -rwxr-xr-x 1 admin users 139261 Feb 25 09:39 old-squeezelite-x86-64 -rwxr-xr-x 1 admin users 127354 Feb 25 09:39 squeezelite-armv5te -rwxr-xr-x 1 admin users 127354 Feb 25 09:39 squeezelite-armv6 -rwxr-xr-x 1 admin users 136381 Feb 25 09:39 squeezelite-armv6hf -rwxr-xr-x 1 admin users 133764 Feb 25 09:39 squeezelite-i386 -rwxr-xr-x 1 admin users 2642256 Oct 29 13:45 squeezelite-x86-64 -rwxr-xr-x 1 admin users 203 Feb 26 09:36 squeezelite-x86-64.sh root@Akela2:/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/LocalPlayer/Bin# The right issue seems to be with the audio device, running the script as admin gives: [09:43:29.142435] stream_init:294 init stream [09:43:29.144389] output_init_alsa:939 init output [09:43:29.144496] output_init_alsa:979 requested alsa_buffer: 88200 alsa_period: 1298 format: 16 mmap: 1 [09:43:29.146061] ALSA _snd_pcm_hw_open:1401 Invalid value for card [09:43:29.146163] test_open:281 playback open error: No such file or directory [09:43:29.146189] output_init_common:384 unable to open output device: hw:0,0 So, how to fix this, and how to make the script run at startup? Thanks!
