The very old version of AirPlay bridge arm5te/arm6hf where indeed working on Pi 0 and 1 CPU, but that's because I was compiling it on an old Pi directly. I move a while ago to cross-compiling everything from one Linux box which saves me an insane amount of time, but I was never able to get a proper cross-compiler for these platforms and candidly, I gave up b/c they are not the most popular/important ones. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
It might have just been coincidence. However, AirPlay Bridge has been running on the system, successfully, for a long time. Yesterday I updated it (and I think 3 other plugins) and that is when the problem started. It was the first of those plugins that I removed from the file system (because I knew that the AirPlay device was very unlikely to be used over the coming weeks) and from then on I could start LMS without a problem. So I don't know for sure that it is at the root of the issue, but it felt like it. Diagnosing further is hard because I have to get them to set up a VPN to me and then I have to mess around with ngrok to get access to the web interface of either pCP or LMS. So I expect they will not have the AirPlay speaker to use until I visit in October - which will not be an issue. Pi 0 & 1 have this funny instruction set where one instruction is missing (and require a special debian). I know for a fact that my binaries fail on such old Broadcomm chipset, now I'm surprised it does bring down LMS. There is a watchdog in the Perl part of the plugin start restarts the binary helper when it crashes, so that will happen all the time, but the watchdog is a 30s timer, so it cannot bring LMS down by eating all CPU. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Here is an odd report that I cannot provide much detail for. I have been helping to update a remote LMS. However, it always stopped a minute or so after trying to startup (this is a pCP 8 installation - with LMS 8.2 originally when problem started and now LMS 8.3). I tried running it interactively and saw that it was failing with "illegal instruction" but nothing else very useful in the log. To get things back and while working from remote with a complicated networking setup ... I used pCP web interface to remove the LMS cache. Restarted LMS and got the basics working again - and then installed the right plugins for that LMS installation. ... bang ... illegal instruction on LMS restarting. I then removed the InstalledPlugins/Plugins/RaopBridge folder completely and now LMS starts OK. This installation is on a old Raspberry Pi 1 I could not investigate a lot more because the remote users want their LMS back running and I have left it rebuilding the music library. However, is it possible that one of the binaries in RaopBridge could fail (wrong architecture?) and bring down LMS (because it is a binary rather than Perl)? Maybe if someone else reports LMS not startup up properly after installing AirPlay bridge 0.4.62.1 on an old Pi (or maybe a Pi Zero) this might help confirm an issue. I almost bet it is _A_ particular neighbor access point or device, but not enough time trying to isolate. I was wondering if it could help to force the radio to not scan channels by only ever attempt to use one specific channel and make it different from the usual channels 1,6,11. As I say, seeking works for me (from any controller, Material shouldn't be relevant here, but that's what I normally use). If you can recreate it repeatedly and consistently and it is causing you issues, it might be worth raising an LMS bug as playing the audio and seeking is not being handled by this plugin. Those streams are the only ones I know with the issue. A upnp player crashes and a Radio plays with no sound after seeking until I pause and unpause. This only happens with Material Skin but it also happens with these streams. Release 1.1.0 contains: NEW FEATURES - You can now favourite a series/presenter from the catchup menu so that they will then be accessible from your LMS favourites (requires LMS 8.2.0 or later) - You can also favourite podcasts from the Global podcasts menu - There are also some minor bugfixes to the icons - This is available from the beta repository now, and will be available from the main repository To clarify the reported issue with the catchup programmes, Global have recently introduced an error in the MP4 streams that causes a problem for LMS, there is fix to make LMS more tolerant of this error, that fix is currently only available in a recent build of version 8.2.1 or 8.3 of LMS Stuart McLean EXPECTINGTOFLY PLUGINS : - *BBC Sounds* : https://github.com/expectingtofly/LMS_BBC_Sounds_Plugin - *Virgin Radio (UK)* : https://github.com/expectingtofly/LMS_Virgin_Radio_Plugin - *Times Radio* : https://github.com/expectingtofly/LMS_TIMES_RADIO_PLUGIN - *Global Player (UK)* : https://github.com/expectingtofly/LMS_GlobalPlayer_Plugin For BBC Sounds help see the 'BBC Sounds Wiki' (https://github.com/expectingtofly/LMS_BBC_Sounds_Plugin/wiki). expectingtofly's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63263 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114305 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
