And the answer is (drum roll) ... exactly what happens when running both on Linux, or LMS on Windows and the plugin binary on Linux, i.e. everything works fine. Attached is the plugin log, which looks much like the previous one with the platforms reversed. So the only case that fails is running both LMS and the plugin binary on Windows. As you discovered previously, this holds true even if LMS and the binary are running on different Windows machines. I guess it makes sense in terms of filling buffers too quickly, etc. but then why doesn't it also happen when running both on the same non-Windows machine? Since I have trouble letting go of things, I'm going to do some further experimentation using mp3's that are not as compressed as these are (~162kbps VBR) to see how that affects the timing. I don't want to drift too far off-topic, but I have to say that the Music Folder view is very handy and fast when I know EXACTLY what I'm looking for: the album title and the either the name of the artist or that the album is a various artists compilation. But if I'm fuzzy on the details, as is often the case, the database and advanced search save the day. A few years ago, standardizing tags was a months-long project that made my music library much, much more useful. There is still work to be done, of course. Better to go into the plugin section in Material, then all updated plugins will be shown at the top and you can choose which one to update (if there are more than one). I hereby officially name this bug > "Moby Dick". Well, in fact I misread the wireshark and the FIN request from the LMS is ACKnowledged by the bridge's stack but what was missing is the FIN from the bridge. It should be sent when closing the connection in return, but I don't because I don't see it fast enough. So, as Paul rightfully pointed it out, once the server has received the ACK of FIN, it waits TIME_WAIT and then sends a RST frame that causes the client to wipe-out all already stored buffered. I assume (maybe I'll give it a try) that Linux vs Windows is that the Linux frame might not send a RST frame and simply move on after TIME_WAIT. It's an interesting and complicated combination of events but that's purely a vicious implementation mistake, I now realize it. So it is probably not Moby Dick, alas! I have been caught out with that before! I find it easier to check the track numbering than it is to correct the metadata. My library needs a good sort out of the metadata to align all the inconsistent punctuations, artist name formats, etc. This is the main reason I use Music Folder browsing as I have at least been careful to organise all the folders. humax99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69035 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109624 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

w3wilkes wrote: > If we have a bunch of Dynamic Playlists created with the old Erland > SQLPlaylists how do we get them into the new Dynamic Playlists 4 / DPLC? Good question. I've added it to the DPLC FAQ. If you have custom dynamic playlists saved as *Customized SQL* in -SQLPlayList- (i.e. you've manually edited your SQLite statement), try to use them *directly* in DPL*4*: locate the *sql.xml* file for your custom dynamic playlist in the SQLPlayList folder, change the file extension to *sql*, replace instances of -select tracks.url from tracks- with -select tracks.id, tracks.primary_artist from tracks- and drop the file in DPL's folder for custom dynamic playlists called *DPL-custom-lists*. If you have any doubts about whether your customized SQLite code is compatible with v4, just post the code in '*here*' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?115501-Dynamic-Playlists-3-get-help-with-your-custom-playlists) and I'll take a look. If your custom dynamic playlists are saved as *use predefined* in SQLPlayList, they are based on templates which are different from the ones in DPLC. So I'm afraid, for those *predefined* custom dynamic playlists there's no way to import them. With DPL3 you can use SQLPlayList and DPLC -at the same time-. In the failed case, although the bridge asnwers with an ACK to the last segment, the FIN never arrives and 120s later, LMS uses a RST. Now, my understanding is that I get kind of unlucky because what happens is that all is well received by the TCP layer, including the FIN, but for a graceful shutdown, the application layer should call close() so that the FIN,ACK can be sent in response. But because the application layer is blocked, it does not call close() and have a TIME_WAIT expiration instead. When finally the application layer (the streaming thread) runs, it's too late and recv() return <0 because of the RST and last segments in kernel buffers are lost. I'm not even sure how I expect this to work if I finally do get it working. The E30 has a display indicating attenuation when in preamp mode, will that change with the volume? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotify: authentication with Spotty failure
The second account shows up with the right name but after a few seconds it gets the same name as the first account. The authentication error appears. Removing the second Spotify account solves the error. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Picoreplayer / Shairport-sync
Just gave the new version of Shairport-Sync a test run, it works fine and stable! The instructions to rename the Airplay 2 Endpoint worked as well. Thank you very much for the update! 2 ideas come to my mind: - Would it be possible to name the Shairport-Endpoints in the Picoreplayer Frontend (or alternatively have them named the same as the Squeezelite Endpoint)? - How about adding librespot functionality to Picoreplayer in the same way as you did for Shairport-Sync? This could be a workaround to the everlasting stability and reliability issues of the Spotty Spotify Connect implementation (random stops, stops before the end of the songs, skipping sometimes not working and so on..). cramcram's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22906 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117145 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It does look the name needs to be quoted but I'm not sure what you suggest will work if squeezelite command line processing is doing what I think. I'll look at the shell script as there may be another way to get the quotes included. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117242 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have "-D 0:u32be -V E30 " if I remember correctly.
