Sure, I'm very thankful for the solution you're currently providing. Of
course, such a monitoring plugin would make it perfect :).

Happy Easter!

Hi again,

I think I found the fundamental misunderstanding I had.

Is it true that the SCpowertool is only triggered if the server is
suspended / hibernated by the plugin itself, let's say after a sleep
timer is over or idle time of attached players has been reached?

It seems like it is not triggered if the system is set to standby /
hibernation by a windows energy plan, is that right?

Thanks for your help,

Chris

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2010-03-29 Thread Chris82

Hi,

after some playing around with my new mediacenter I gave another try to
the wake-up feature in SvrPowerControl under Win 7 X64 but what can
I say, same issue as before:

In an artficial situation where I try to use the powertool from the
command line with the wake-up feature, everything works perfectly. Also
using it in the plugin seems to be successful as I can read in the Log
file. The start-up time for the computer is set to 5min in advance to
my alarms in the SB Radio.

However... in the morning, the system does not power on. The log file
stays untouched, just as if windows goes to a power state the the
computer cannot be woken up from.

I don't quite understand that problem since in my own tests, the
machine returns both from S3 and S4 state to the preset time.

Is there anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks for your help!

Christoph

Hi!

Thanks a lot for your reply! Well, I've spent last night with this
whole thing and what can I say... the one problem described seems to be
solved w/o my exact knowledge of "why".

Everything worked fine last night during the test. However, what
happened this morning...? The server was not started prio to the wake up
time but instead via the WOL signal of the SB Radio resulting in a late
start and just a beep sound from the SB Radio.

Is there a twist in Win7 x64? Which power states can be started up from
the plugin? Yesterday night, the plugin successfully started up both
from suspend and hibernate. Is it possible that Win7 switches to a
deeper power save state in the night?

Thanks for your help!

Chris

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2010-02-15 Thread Chris82

Hi everybody,

thanks in the first place for this great enhancement of the SBS and the
work that you put into it!

I've installed the SvrPowerControl plugin both on my 7.4.2 SBS (Win7
x64) and temporarily on the 7.5 version and almost all functions work
perfectly. However, there's one issue that I can't get rid of.

Situation is as follows:
- I set an alarm at 7:00 either via SBS or on my SB radio
- I've set SvrPowerControl to wake up the server 5min in advance to the
alarm so that the server is ready to deliver the preset radio station or
playlist to the radio.

What happens is that the server is correctly switched on at 6.55.
However at the same time the SB Radio also switches on and the standard
alarm sound (beep) goes off. Instead of waiting five more minutes until
the predefined alarm with my preset radio station switches the SB Radio
on, there must be some kind of signal that has the radio start together
with the SBS.

Has anyone experienced this is well? Is it a known bug, how can I solve
it? I haven't found such an issue in the forum yet.

Thanks for your help!

Chris
