Philippe, How does the stereo pair work btw? I have a pair of HomePods paired together however they show up as single speakers. Is there a way to link them as a left a right channel and stream to the pair of them in stereo? Hey Philippe, I noticed that you reference HomePod in 4.0.0.4, have you removed the volume mapping or fixed it? I only ask as my HomePod has no volume control/feedback in LMS. If this was a fix what are the settings to get it working? Any chance of this Walk With Me being updated to work with Philippes Group Player? I use that fantastic iPeng and swiping right works for all except for group player. For me this would be a great addition. If listening to something on the bedroom radio for example but then want it playing on all players I can swipe right on group player and like magic its synced on all players. This plugin was working for me but it has now stopped. I have removed it from system including the pref file and reinstalled. I am now stuck on the Authorise part, I have my Spotify via Facebook login and as such doesn't have a password. I know there is a message on the Spotify App when trying to login using the email address and password I have that is says from Feb 1st you can't use username and password if you have facebook login. I have signed out of the Spotify app and it allowed me to log back in using my email and password I have but when I select the Authorise under the player selection in the app, it tries to connect but nothing happens. I have tried the username and password that did allow me to log into the Spotify app in the spotty setting page at the bottom but that comes up with failed. Strangely nothing in the log.. Any ideas? Is it related to the facebook log in? I have noticed odd behaviour. When AirPlaying to a Group Player, after about 3 songs it tries to play the next then gets in a muddle and repeats the previous song. I have managed to catch it in the log. Some strange characters appeared. I'm not sure it this has anything to do with the Group Player plugin or ShairTunes related, thought best to post here. Its around the 13:10:37 mark where it went wrong. The song ending was Perfect Strangers and the next was Money for Nothing. It attempted to play Money for Nothing but then went back to Perfect Strangers.. Manual skip forward would play Money for Nothing and then the same thing happens 2 or 3 songs along.. I had 3 native/real squeezebox players powered on and playing in the group player.. It used to play for 2-3mins the stop playing then resume playing later when streaming from LMS library. I set it to send Meta Data and then it works. However it will not work with ShairTunes, Doesn't matter what configuration it is it just doesn't work. Very Strange eh?!? Could it be to do with volume feedback? Using your groups plugin, all players are in sync and playing LMS library just fine, however this issue comes when I AirPlay to the Group Player I get an issue with HomePod where it will not play music, it may disappear from LMS and the other players that are in sync will pause playing for a second then continue again; similar to buffering. This happens maybe every 30 secs to a minute. I have attached the log if that helps. I powered off the HomePod from LMS and back on a couple of times throughout the log to get you some more info. I think mine is playing up as I can't even add anymore players, some sort of SQL error shows up in the log. I may remove it and reinstall.. Just to further add to the above.. The 0.50 dev version does appear to ignore a player that is playing when pausing and un pausing the group which solves one problem. The main reason I like to keep the group sync'd even when paused is because I will pause a player locally that is in the group or the group player directly and the group is broken up. Not so bad if pausing using the group player. However if I pause the player in the living room for a minute for a reason, maybe a phone call. When I press resume/play, the player plays the local playlist as the group has been broken up. Thats the main reason I wanted the group to stay together even when paused. With the current setup if any player is paused for more than say 20 seconds the group is broken up and only way to get them playing as a group is to open iPeng and hit play on the group player. Hope above makes sense. I just want the group to stay together when paused. So when I pause the Living Room Touch to take a 2 min phone call the group stays together because the current setup when I hit play/resume on the Living Room Touch it plays the local playlist as the group is broken up. Once again thank you! With the groups being constanantly kept together until the group player is turned off wouldnt result in players playing everywhere if forgetting to turn off the group player would it? All players stay in their groups, however only when you select the group player do all players play.. they can all be in group, If you leave group player on and select something to play on one of the players say, a bedroom player then because you selected that locally then only that will play as it would leave the group. When it is powered off it would then join the group again ready to be in sync. I only have one Group Player. If you have multiple group players. Only one should be allowed to be powered on. So if you have 3 group players. 1 is on and assembles the players. Then you power on group 2, then group 1 should powered off by group 2 and group 2 assembles its players. Im not sure how it works with more than one group player as I only have one so maybe the above wouldnt work for more than one if you can have multiple group players playing at the same time. If that is the case then forget my idea lol. You dont even need to power up the group, just select it and send playlist then it powers on anyways. Yes you might forget to turn it off but does that do any harm, your mechanics of selecting a local player and changing playlist would remove it from the group anyhows. Then it would return once powered off. Yes the above is similar to the LMS native sync, as it keeps it simple yet with the added bonus of your approach if you do select a local player it is removed from group then returns once powered off. Philippe, Thank your for replying so quickly! I agree with all comments that this is mostly personal preference. Does the syncing and unsyncing have to be done with pause and play on the group player? WouldnÂt the most logical and user friendly way to be this:- When group player is powered on.. it grabs all players.. this is the only time this is done. If itÂs paused or resumed then it does no more grabbing. Only powering it on. To unsync group, just turn the group player off. If during the group sync a player is removed by a user by changing its plylist locally then when that player is turned off (ie, they have finished with it) the player is reattached to group on power off if the group player is still turned on. To me that is more seamless than the current setup. Although I agree 100% that is more preference and setup. IÂd love for the group players to stay in sync permanently whilst the group player is powered on, rather than break up and re grab at pause/play. The break up group when group player is powered off. So simple then, whilst group is powered on, players are grabbed and stay grabbed (unless locally released by changing playlist on local player). Then power off and players are released. I hope I have explained that correctly.. That above scenario would then stop a player from being grabbed again when itÂs playing something locally if the group is paused then played again. However once that person is finished with that radio, itÂs turned off and it syncs back into group. If you wish to resync whole group including the radio that is still locally playing something then just power off and power on the group player just like you do with pause/play the current way. That would grab the playing radio again. To me that is the simplest and seamless experience. IÂm sure there are reasons this canÂt be done or scenarios why its not a good idea, sure I may have missed something obvious.. Reason for group players is to sync players, turn it on and they are synced and stayed synced. Turn it off and they are back to being standalone players. Hi, Just started using the Group Player's more recently and think I have found a behaviour that maybe isn't quite right. I'll run it by you guys/gurls and see what your setup does and/or your thoughts. Group starts by grabbing all players which is great. I had a couple of players on and playing in sync out of the 10 or so sync'd at the time. The wife turned on the Kitchen Radio (which his part of this group) and then selected her own album which was fine, the Kitchen Radio was removed from the group and it played her chosen album. Now using iPeng I paused the Group player as that was what was selected from choosing the previous playlist that started the group. When resuming it grabbed the Kitchen Radio back into the group and started playing my playlist in sync with the group! My wife wasn't best pleased.. whoops. I assume thats not normal behaviour?!?! So just to clarify, pausing the group player and then resuming pulled a previously attached player that had left and was playing its own thing. I would have thought that the Kitchen Player shouldn't have been pulled back in to the group is it was switched on and playing something different. Hi buddy, As AirPlay 2 is delayed the HomePod is using AirPlay 1 and it is happily playing LMS content using AirPlay Bridge and Spotify Connect with Spotty which is a result. The only thing not working is volume feedback. I have tried Yes, No and Raw. The volume buttons on the HomePod and Siri all change the volume on the HomePod however doesn't reflect the change in LMS. Just thought I'd let you know that I have tried this with Apple's HomePod and appears to work at the moment with early testing. Seems its using AirPlay 1 at the moment. I use Philippe's brilliant AirPlay bridge to show the player in LMS. Something I have noticed is the volume between players is erratic and can't figure whats going on.. Some of them when they are broken up are 0. When they are grabbed by the Group player they are then at 100%. I understand how the Group Volume turns them up and down together relatively. Very strange, would there be a way/option of setting them all to ay 50% when grabbed? Again this might not be for some people but may work for others.. Sorry, I'm giving you all this extra work lol. I agree in regards to the what player if more than one is playing, maybe an option like you said for first/last or maybe set an Alpha Male style player which takes precedent which would be my living room radio for example. I don't know how complicated all this is to do. Logitech have missed a trick with LMS and sure they regret it now. Great community and people like yourself have made me invest more into the eco system long after it was discontinued. Is there anyway of Caching the playlists on players before the get drafted to the Group then when they are released back to being on their own then the cached/saved playlist is restored? Excellent.. Have you managed to find a way of Spotty playing on the selected player rather than the last player/current player that is on? For example... If the Dining Room Radio is on and I select Kitchen Radio then it will play on the Dining Room Radio even though it shows its playing on Kitchen Radio on the Spotify app. My players are sync'd so I don't know if that causes issues? Hi, I pretty much leave my players sync'd all the time. That way when I change room I just turn on the player in new room and turn off old player. Issue I am seeing using Spotty with the Connect enabled is that when players are sync'd, they all show up in the Spotify App correctly however it doesn't matter which one of them I select the same single player (last connected to) will play the song. So even if Lounge Touch is selected it will still play in the dining room for example. Is this how yours behaves Michael? I am streaming Apple Music from iPhone, its not really useable anymore. Take a good 25 seconds or so before it plays and then I can skip track from either the physical player or from within the Apple Music app on the iDevice. Hi all, Wondered if people are using this with iOS 11? It worked fine until I updated to iOS 11. It will play a song however when I try to skip it wont reconnect. Logs can be sent however I have tried Rowe two different iPhones on iOS 11 and both behave the same way. Got this working today and its pretty good. I'm not sure if I am meant to mention here or in the teamworks. Wondered if syncing/unsycing of players and whole groups will be an option in the future. Also will we be able to ask it to play albums or songs from our library eventually. I imagine the later to be rather difficult to implement. I'm sure you are going to be bombarded with requests etc.. Not sure what has changed within the new protocol however it would be handy as it works with HomeKit. It also looks like the for it to work on HomeKit it only needs to be AirPlay 2 and it appears within HomeKit (thats the early findings). Updated to latest version today and it has broken my Aether Cones. They just splutter audio now. My Denon amp still works. I also never got the volume to work with the Aether Cone. Philippe, I have disabled the volume feedback and it appears to have solved the player not playing straight away before a volume button is pressed. However the volume buttons on the player still do not work. I don't know what else to try. Any volume mapping suggestions? It works correctly with iTunes in as an airplay device. Volume goes up and done using the physical buttons. Cheers bud! Another thing I have noticed is when the player is turned on, the volume is on 0 so has to be turned up which is fine. I had to have a 177ms delay on it to keep it in sync with other LMS players however if I change the volume on the Aether Cone using LMS it becomes out of sync. Very strange eh! I don't understand either. I have removed LMS and the squeezboxserver folder and done a new install. Installed both of your plugins and set them to debug and played Some Music and that's my server.log! Nothing else I could try to find the volume info we need? Hi all, This is working for me as expected except I don't have volume control from any of my AirPlay Bridge created players. I can change the volume within LMS however the physical buttons do nothing.. What sort of log would you need to help identify the issue? Philippe I have just updated to the 0.4 version. The issue I reported a while back with the Airplay device within LMS as a player not allowing the sync playback when Airplayed to an LMS device has been fixed. Great work mate. That's correct mate. With 1 real SB player and virtual is fine, as soon as you add a 2nd real SB player it doesn't work.. quick check of the log looks like a buffer issue.. would you like a debug log? That's exactly what I do. I have an airplay speaker that I only use as a squeezebox player using your AirBridge plugin. I use iPeng to control them all. They are usually permanently synced as one giant group. I have 5 proper squeezebox players and two created using AirBridge. If I use music from LMS I can have all players including the AirBridge player within iPeng all synced and playing. However if I'm airplaying from my iPhone to LMS using sharertunes I can have all my proper squeezebox players playing in sync however as soon as I turn on the AirBridge generated player within LMS through iPeng then the system goes into meltdown and buffers every second. However if I have just one native player and the one AirBridge player then it works fine and in sync. However as soon as I turn on a second proper squeezebox player with the single AirBridge player then it goes into meltdown. So to recap. I am airplaying to my LMS using Shairtunes, all my players are synced in a group. All the native players play fine and in sync. I can have all 5 off them on and it's fine. However as soon as I turn on the AirBridge generated squeezebox player which is part of the sync'd group it then buffers constantly. If I then turn all my native players but leave just the one on with the one AirBridge player then it works fine. Any ideas? I hope that makes sense. It's really hard to explain. I'll test it mate. Currently (pre 0.36.0) everything is fine when all players are native Squeeze players however if I turn on an airplay device within the squeeze network (AirBridge) then the whole lot will buffer although if it's just one squeeze player and one AirBridge player then it's fine. Turn a second squeeze player on then it goes into meltdown lol. Hope that makes sense. Philippe_44.. Have you looked at the new Amazon Echo things? They look pretty good. I currently control everything via Domoticz and Homebridge. My LMS is controlled using iPeng. The Amazon echo would be handy if you just want some quick information. They also allow you to play music to bluetooth players. Now if I got one of these Echos it would be in my living room and so is my Raspberry Pi 3. Then realised the only thing missing at the moment is bluetooth connectivity. Would it be possible to modify one of your plugins to use the bluetooth on the pi 3 and then expose all the players as bluetooth players like you do with the shairtunes2 plugin and it would work in the same way? Philippe I had no idea you could AirPlay to multiple players from multiple devices I never tried it because the old shairtunes was only one at a time and no sync. I knew you fixed the sync but had no idea you had managed to get it that while one iPhone is AirPlaying to one radio that someone else could whip out their phone AirPlay to another radio!! I just had three iOS devices AirPlaying to 3 different radios, while another 4 radios played different songs from LMS library, 2 of them devices I had added today using AirPlay bridge and all played flawlessly with meta data. To think I was about to bin them and purchase Sonos because I was using Apple Music more than my LMS library. Now I don't have too! Great work mate. After being mighty impressed with Philippe's fork of Shairtunes and the cost/availability of Squeezebox's these days I decided to try this plugin out. It installed with ease, and within minutes had it fully working and in sync. I have just bought an airplay speaker just for this plugin. Truly amazing Philippe! Does it have to wipe the playlist? I don't want to add it to the playlist and play it in 3 songs time. It can play straight away but I didn't want to wipe playlist lol. Still working spot on mate! Thanks again. Sorry for all the messages earlier when in fact it was a setting my end. Would it be possible for shairtunes2 to add its stream to a current playlist when selected rather than wiping it. Sometimes you just want to play one song then carry on with existing playlist. I don't mean play next, just add it and squeezebox plays its, just leaves playlist in tact? Does that make sense? Fixed it for defo this time I think. All thanks to your comments about wondering why my player is sending artwork as png files. I had a lightbulb moment and I remembered a few days ago changing a setting under performance tab which did have squeezebox.com resize artwork and I changed it to LMS! Would explain the 192.168.1.26 proxy connection earlier. Anyways it is working now however I have my log with debug turned on for shairtunes2 if you still want it. But its been working for the last 10 mins with no issues. Crash maybe a bit strong a word. LMS freezes, the web gui becomes non reachable and the log stops transmitting. No noticed a lot of CPU usage though. It's the proxy connection from 192.168.1.26 which seems to cause it. Tried on an iOS 9 device and it's the same.
