Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: TunerPlay for Windows plugin - FM radio from analog TV/FM Tuner card.
Great stuff, thanks for the tips. I'll have a look at those links and have a play with GraphEdit. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again. -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57692 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: TunerPlay for Windows plugin - FM radio from analog TV/FM Tuner card.
No I haven't, that sort of stuff being black magic to a non-coder such as me, but I've just loaded GraphEdit. If I click on the blue box button to insert a filter, and then expand the DirectShow filter tree, I can see a filter that looks relevant: B2C2 MPEG-2 Source Filename: C:\Program Files\TechniSat DVB\bin\Sky2PCAVSrc.ax Under that there's more stuff (green magic this time) about pins 00 to 05 Does that look like it could, at least in theory, mean that TunerPlay could control it? -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57692 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: TunerPlay for Windows plugin - FM radio from analog TV/FM Tuner card.
No, I'm using plain old XP Pro on one machine and Windows Home Server on the other. They produce the same results. I'm wondering if it's significant that the Technisat DVB-S card only appears as a network adapter in Device Manager, and not under Sound, video and game controllers. That said, it works perfectly Ok with other DVB applications. Is there a way I can tell if it uses, and has loaded, DirectSound drivers? -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57692 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: TunerPlay for Windows plugin - FM radio from analog TV/FM Tuner card.
Well, assuming you mean the panel you get in VLC media player (v 0.9.8a incidentally) via Media Open Capture Device, then no. If I select the DVB DirectShow drop-down option as the capture mode, the Card Selection section allows me to choose between DVB-S, DVB-C and DVB-T. Under the Options section, the basic choice offered is transponder frequency and symbol rate. Under Advanced options, theres a new popup that has shedloads of parameters that seem to be a mix of satellite, cable and terrestrial settings. Whatever Ive put in there (and Ive put in many, including all the pertinent numbers from a working DVBViewer installation) always results in the error message; Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvb-s://'. Check the log for details. The log says; main input error: open of `dvb-s://' failed: could not create access. -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57692 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: TunerPlay for Windows plugin - FM radio from analog TV/FM Tuner card.
Since it was published, Ive had a few attempts at using the TunerPlay plugin with a DVB-S card. All have failed at the point I try to get VLC to recognise the cards, a TechniSat SkyStar 2 PCI (or a Hauppauge WinTV Nexus-S). According to the VideoLAN Wiki Hardware compatibility list, http://wiki.videolan.org/Hardware_Compatibility_list , there wouldnt appear to be a DVB-S card thats supported by VLC on Windows (Im running XP Pro or WHS) though there are a few DVB-T cards that are. So, is this the end of the road, or has someone had any success with DVB-S cards and VLC on Windows? -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57692 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Excellent work bpa, many thanks! Used ED to install on two separate SC 7.3r installations, one on XP sp3 and one on WHS. Both went as smooth as you like and I'm now enjoying FD auditorium on Hot Bird as I type. Again, thanks for taking on this very useful plugin that had become a bit of an orphan. -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
bpa, Very interested in your DVB to SC plugin. The present method I'm using sort of works but is laughably inelegant. WHS, Technisat SkyStar 2 PCI, DVBviewer, VAC, WaveInput, SC Version: 7.3 - 23652 with xPL enabled, Pronto remote to send JVC IR codes in addition to SB codes. Channel change is achieved by xPL picking up the JVC IR from my Boom or SB3 and a 'determinator' in xPL HALManager causing an action to send a command to the PCI card and display the station name (briefly) on the originating Squeezebox device. Mad - just the sort of botch that you have to resort to if you can't program. So, I'll be keeping an eager lookout for your plugin. -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Glad to hear you got it working, Merlinwerks. I'm using VAC, single cable, to patch the output of a DVB-S PCI card to WaveInput (Many quite decent classical radio stations on satellite over Europe). Originally I used it because there wasn't a sound card in the server PC, but it's so fit-and-forget I use it in preference to the sound card now. It's handy to be able to constrain the sample rate to 48kHz to match DVB. Now if only WaveInput would be integrated into SqueezeCenter, I could forget that too. -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Yes, I've been using it with WaveInput for about 18 months, without problems. Until SC 7.3 Release, that is. -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Wave Input plugin v1.00
Was working OK with 7.3 - 23652, but I get the 'Unable to play file type' message with SqueezeCenter 7.3 release. bpa, I'd be very grateful if you find the time to sort this. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Plugin to forward remote key presses to Windows applications?
Im using xPL to issue commands to control a Windows application in response to IR signals received by a Squeezebox 3 or a Boombox. If you enable the xPL interface (supplied in a standard Squeezecenter installation) then install the core xPL software xPLHal (v1.60 from the xPL Project site) and xPLHub (from xPLmonkey.com) you should be able to get to the stage of creating Determinators. These handy things will enable you to perform an action in response to an IR stimulus. I have no programming knowledge but, using this method, Im able to change the radio station on a DVB-S card sitting in my Squeezecenter PC by pressing buttons on the squeezebox remote. I imagine that with some scripting skill it would be possible to do fancier tasks than that. Incidentally, regarding your point all IR signals are transparently forwarded to the squeezeserver, my experience suggests only valid Slim Devices or JVC DVD commands get repeated to the server. I think the Squeezebox firmware determines this. Good luck. -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55154 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] streaming BBC radio via Squeezebox vs a DAB Digital Radio
Regarding Florca's option 2), using DVB-S as a source, I'm currently using a Windows solution using ProgDVB. This has a service called Prog Media Server wich enables a Shoutcast stream to talk directly to Slimserver. It seems limited to six programmes on the same transponder, but calling them up via a playlist from the Squeezebox gives a very solid source. I usually have it tuned to the ARD transponder on Astra at 19.2°E giving me six classical music programmes at 320 kbps CBR. It works equally robustly on the BBC stations on Astra at 28.2°E but at 192kbps. What would be nice is a method of generating a Shoutcast stream from the currently tuned radio station and some method of changing the channel from the Squeezebox. Any ideas? -- Skye Skye's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11214 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35663 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
