Thank you for your plugin that has served me well for a long time. I
understand that neither you or Spotify can support all kind of NAS boxes
but I think you should add a warning to the plugin description on the
LMS page (and in this thread) that you should not upgrade to this
version if you are on a Synology or QNAP NAS since it seems that neither
of these boxes have the required libraries installed. If I had know this
in advance I would not update and avoided beeing Spotify-less at the
moment :-)

Is it possible to make available through your repo both the new and old
version? I am not comfortable telnet'ing into my NAS and changing stuff
manually...

Again - thank you for all the work you've put into this plugin! I don't
blame you in any way for this failure, just giving my thoughts on how to
fix it ;-)

only the spotify-files (which is exptected since your plugin can't

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunes Update Plugin: Should skip count work?

2009-12-30 Thread mariowing

Thank you for your answer! I downloaded the latest version of the plugin
but could not find the perl import script included in the zip-file. I
therefore googled and found it somewhere else. I am wondering if perhaps
I have an old version. Although I don't know anything about perl, the
version I have don't seem to have any code for handling skipped files.
When running the script it just says no update required. Is it
possible for you to e-mail me the latest version, or direct me to the
correct download location?

Thanks again!

That's where I downloaded from, but the script for importing into iTunes

[SlimDevices: Plugins] iTunes Update Plugin: Should skip count work?

2009-12-26 Thread mariowing

Hello there!

My question is in the title of the post really... I wonder if skip
count should work when importing the history file from iTunes Update
plugin into iTunes 9?

I see on http://www.jamescraig.co.uk/SlimServer/index.html that it says
this only works for iTunes 7, but some of the info on the page seems a
bit out of date so it would be very nice if someone could clarify if
this feature only works on iTunes 7, meaning it does not work on later
versions of iTunes.

Regards, Marius

If you like to keep TrackStat statistics you should take a TrackStat
backup in 7.3.3 or in the MySQL version of 7.4 before you upgrade. Make
sure to store this TrackStat backup file in a safe place, because you
might need it again when the final version of TrackStat supporting 7.4
 is released.

I have now installed the 7.4 - r27438 version of Squeezecenter. It did
a lengthy rescan and all my music reappeared. I then installed the
Trackstat beta plugin and after restarting SC it did an even longer
rescan. And to my great surprise (and joy of course) all the statistics
from TrackStat's previous installation was there :-). My previous setup
did do a automatically nightly backup of the Trackstat's and it seems
that your plugin might have restored that from the latest backup
automatically?!? I love the fact that it did that :-)

I would love to help you test the plugins, but I have a few questions I
hope you could answer. I quess I should first update Squeezecenter and
then install your beta plugin(s)? Is TrackStat statistics destroyed
after an Squeezecenter upgrade to 7.4? If it is; would it be possible to
import an pre-7.4 backup to the new 7.4 SC when CustomScan for 7.4 is
released?

Thank you for taking the time to update your plugins - I really

Unfortunately I am now stuck at a 7.4 beta that has garbled the playlist
display, but I can't update to the newest nightlies since I use both
ratings and dynamic playlists all the time. In fact, without it
Squeezecenter would not be usable to me. I don't understand how you
could have a 20 000+ track installation and only be able to browse by
genre/artist/albums?

Is there any way we could inspire you to create SQLLite support?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Playlist Generator, easy way to generate initial static playlists

2009-01-11 Thread mariowing

This is going to be VERY useful for me at least, I was actually thinking
about something like this yesterday :-)

My scenario is that I have a Denon 3808 receiver in my home theater
room. That receiver has UPNP support and therefore I have installed
TVersity on my Windows Home Server together with Squeezecenter. Some
day I will of course buy a Squeezebox for my home theater, but for the
time beeing I must settle with the UPNP/TVersity thing which of course
is much more limited in terms of playlist/tag support. (Although I must
say that TVersity is much more flexible than the built-in UPNP server on
Windows Home Server, which to mee almost seems like a joke and not
usable for anyone who are serious about their digital media.)

So I was thinking about how I could make a playlist that would be
imported into TVersity and accessed from the 3808 for things like
newly added songs, favorite songs etc. And along comes your new
plugin, and even with the posibilty to generate the playlists once a
day trough custom scan.

So now I have Near-Dynamic Playlists for TVersity/3808/UPNP scenario,
and that just days after I started to think about how nice it would be
to have something like that!

Thanks a lot :-)

PS Off course all this happiness may go away after I tried the plugin
if I misunderstood what it could do or if TVersity won't import the
playlists or something else... I'll post back in a couple of days when
I've been able to try it out! DS
