Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MC2 Slim/JRiver Media Center: No Sync

2008-12-26 Thread Craig

Thanks for letting me know, I was just testing MC2Slim with an
unlicensed copy of MC13 and it worked ok so I was stuck for the next
suggestion.

I'm glad it's all working again.

Well, it's me again. Inspired by the success of reinstalling version 12,
I made another effort to reinstall 13.0.93 as well, and now everything
works perfectly. I just thought you deserved to know. I don't know what
happened, most likely an unsuccessful install in the first place, I
suppose. Anyway, thanks for your willingness to help and patience
through all this.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MC2 Slim/JRiver Media Center: No Sync

2008-12-25 Thread okvaal

Hi again, and thanks for your replies.
I reinstalled MC 12.0 and everything worked fine. In the MediaCenter
forum, an administrator gave me the following advice: "That's almost
certainly an issue with the MC2Slim software, not with MC13. Please
try contacting the author. We'll provide a license."
But if I'm the only (known) person to have faced any problems here,
perhaps I should just wait and see until version 13.0 has an official
release?

I was suggesting installing MC12 not to fix the problem but as a means
of diagnosing the problem.

Yes MC2Slim will only work with your local server/music.

You could also try installing the latest version of JRMC which is
13.0.93

Turning on my Squeezebox, everything seems normal to me. 10.0.0.2 is
the server IP address as supplied by SC settings/Information.
I'm running MC 13.0.62.
I could always go for another download of MC 12.0, but that sorts of
seems a too easy way out.
Another thing is: using the Squeezebox and selecting
Settings/Musicsource, my options are Squeeze Network and Desktop PC,
the latter marked with an "X" within a square, and with no further
choices to the right. Is that - eh - right?

No I meant a valid Squeezebox, that player name looks strange if your
server is at 10.0.0.2.

Which version of MC are you using? I'm on 13.0.91 but It's worked with
MC13 since the first betas.

It is safe to have MC12 and MC13 installed at the same time as long as
they are in different directories - maybe it's worth a try?

If you by "any valid player" mean a fully functional MC13, well, nothing
happens. Moving the MC2Slim slider will make the TxRx sort of flash on
and off, but can't be set to keep it on constantly. Unfortunately, MC12
was uninstalled and removed.

The TX/RX lights should still flash if you press any of the player
controls on a valid player. Do you still have MC12 installed? does it
work with that?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MC2 Slim/JRiver Media Center: No Sync

2008-12-16 Thread okvaal

Yup, Media Center 13.exe is up and running in the task manager. I've
tried connecting/disconnecting several times, but there's no change,
the top line is always saying "Waiting for Media Center". Media Center
works fine through my PC speakers, but that's not always where I want
it. Also, as you may have noticed, the Tx / Rx box doesn't light up,
neither does the Sync box. OTOH, SlimCenter works fine with MC13,
though, being able to read its files, updating playlists and so on.
If there is no solution to this, are there any other ways to connect
Media Center and Slim Center?

(BTW, thanks for your efforts so far.)

I'm not sure what's happening there, in task manager can you see 'Media
Center 13.exe'? That's what MC2Slim is looking for.

Also have you tried the connect and disconnect options under the file
menu?

They are on the same PC (In MC2Slim: Media Centre/Set Base Path/Same.)
Also, I always TRY TO remember to start MC first. To see the title bar
etc, please see attached print screen (if I succeed in attaching it
:-)).

There's no trick but MC2Slim and JRMC must be on the same PC, It's
usually best to start JRMC up first too.

What does the title bar in MC2Slim say?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MC2 Slim/JRiver Media Center: No Sync

2008-12-13 Thread okvaal

Hi.
Running SlimCenter 7.3 and MC 13.1, I try to make MC2 Slim connect the
two of them, but without any success. I can't quite recall at which
point this became a problem, it might well have been with the release
of JRiver MC 13.0. Anyway MC2Slim gets connected with SlimCenter, but
not with MediaCenter. Double-clicking/playing a song using SlimCenter
will make the song appear in the MC2 Slim window, which is not the case
when I try to play it from MC, where my music collection is.

Anyone able to help me out of this? Or suggest another program that
will function between MediaCenter and SlimCenter?

Thanks in advance,
ole k
