Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Possible MusicIP replacement in time?
I emailed Moodagent to see what the status is on developing a SB plug-in, here is their reply (very disappointing): We've had numerous requests for a Squeezebox-plugin, but we haven't found the resources for developing such a thing yet. It's definitely an idea to open the API for external developers, but the Moodagent API is unfortunately not publicly available. We hope to find the resources to fit this into our schedule, but for the time being it's not in the pipeline. Sorry about that. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Possible MusicIP replacement in time?
I have just run all of my music files through Jaikoz in order to associate them with Amplifind IDs. I still run new files through MusicIP so that my Squeezebox applications will continue to do what they are supposed to do. Here's my drill every time I add new music to my library - Jaikoz first; MP3Tag next in order to clean up the errors of Jaikoz(if any) and to add missing tag information. Move files to the server using DBPowerAmp (or, in the case of multi-artist compilations, using MP3Tag). Then run MusicIP on the entire library at the music server, at the end of which I will use MusicIP to remove any duplicates. Occasionally I'll also run EF Duplicate MP3 Finder and the delete duplicates function from Jaikoz. Sure would be nice to eliminate some of this drill and have files that will display out of the Squeezebox Server under the correct artist, album, and title, with the correct album art, appearing only once (especially in the case of multi-artist albums), etc., etc., etc. -- Lyster Lyster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17183 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79819 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes, it will just take longer, probably unacceptable long for people with 5 track libraries. As I remember it took a few days for my 3000 track library when I analyzed them the first time before there was a central server. I would be more worried that Microsoft did some API change that caused it to stop working on a new operating system version. And of course, make sure you keep the downloaded binaries because we never know when they will remove MusicIP from their download page. My experience trying to communicate with AMS (the new company which owns MusicIP) is that they really don't want to communicate with end users or even individual third party developers, they are only working in the business to business segment. IMHO, we really need to find a replacement to MusicIP because it's just a matter of time until something happens that will make it stop working. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79819 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
