One thing regarding dev version (and upcoming ones): because I've realized during my disastrous last's week update attempt that a few users have pretty old NAS running armv5te and I don't support that anymore, I've decided to set the min version for the updated plugins to be LMS 8.2 which is unlikely to be used on these very old NAS. I'm not sure exactly what that might imply when you have both the dev and the normal repo activated. LMS 8.2 on Odroid-C4 - *SqueezeAMP!*, 5xRadio, 5xBoom, 2xDuet, 1xTouch, 1xSB3. Now I don't the two plugins would 'dissapear' from time to time. But, as far as Philippe's dev repository is involved I think that as soon as you add it to your plugins access to the stable plugins is removed from lms (I could easily be wrong and I certainly don't understand how this could be done!). Hi Philippe, I used the binary "armv5te" in the past to run Airplay Bridge. Actually there this binary is not available anymore. I tried the other binarys but they crashed. Can you please advise, what's the best solution to resolve this issue. They have this notion of "current" and "next" track where they should be able to gather the next in advance, but they don't or don't early enough (BTW that's one of the reason of the recent issue is my attempt to grab the data as early as possible and to keep it in a buffer so that the UPnP player gets it as soon and as quickly as possible). Hi I have a set up with PiCore and am on the stable release channel with bug fixes (LMS 8.3.0) and these plugins are working as expected for me on my chromecast and upnp players. I would like to help out though by testing - as a non technical user would that be any use to you? The last thing I want to do is to be a source of frustration by not following what is required so if you think that's unhelpful do say so - I won't be offended. Mostly the issues seem to be on Windows so I've rigged up an old PC with LMS v8.3.0 ( is that the best one to use or should I be on 8.3.1 or 8.4.0) on Win 10 . I was planning on playing music of various lengths and levels of compression of my own own FLAC and MP3s plus a bit of spotty and see what happens but wondered if there were more specific testing scenarios I should look at. Hi Philippe. Am running dev versions of UPnP and CC Bridges. Am using passthrough as I do not need fade, replay gain etc and prefer simplicity. I think I've only made one change from default, and that is to increase max bitrate to 192k. Mostly works very well. UPnP is for my Naim NDX only. CCB runs a host of Google stuff. Little issues. 1) More info about how to choose static version or not would be useful 2) Adding that Windows users need the *32 bit* drivers distrib would be useful too 3) UPnP/Naim NDX. Gapless works v. well with 16/44 but not with 24/96 where a glitch is v. audible 4) UPnP/Naim NDX. Gapless again. The progress indicator on LMS stops before the end then shoots to the end and stays there for about 5-10 secs before the next track start Bigger issue 1) SACD rips (24/88.2) do not work at all on the Naim (do not start) and sound extremely odd on Chromecast Audio. The Naim definitely supports SACD bit rate. I'm pretty sure Chromecast Audio will too. Thanks. A minor peculiarity: For the first time I could use the non-static alternative (with 2.1.8) and it actually removed the small gaps between tracks on DSOTM and other small gaps on Tidal and Radio Paradise. That was last night. Today the streamer had lost contact to LAN. Did restarts etc., but only when I changed to -static did it connect to the LAN. I then restarted the plugin with non-static and it connects to the LAN and plays tracks again. It's clear now that I won't be able to fix the issues with the new releases quickly enough. So I've rolled back the old repository so that people who want stability can go back there. You should normally just have to de-install my plugins from the LMS interface, maybe restart LMS once more and now the old ones should show up. Being totally without knowledge about these things, is there any possibility that the two other UPnP-related plugins interfere? The users that have trouble now should maybe check and uninstall them if they are installed and see if things improve. Hello! 2.1.6 works for me so far. No surprises. If I install 2.1.11 but it doesn't work, how I do I revert to 2.1.6? By adding the direct link to 2.1.6 in the repository (or dnload it and point to the dnload folder)? Hi Philippe - here is the log from an attempt at playing the same mp3 tracks with 2.1.10 (Win 10 i7 laptop - all UpNP Bridge settings at default other than binary set to static.) This version was not the fix - the tracks would start playing but there was weird distortion in each track partway through, and each track skipped to the next track without playing even half the song. I stopped the madness in track 5 ;) I don't pretend to know what the typical musical content of the universe of UpNPBridge owners is, but if you think mp3 content is not a priority for most people, i would not be offended if you focus your valuable dev efforts on other aspects - the vast majority of my listening is streaming services anyway, with the old mp3 and flac files on my laptop just being an occasional diversion. Good Mornings all - installed 2.1.8 via LMS with no problems on Win 10 i7 laptop, LMS 8.3. I reported yesterday that the installation of the MS C++ redistributable after using 2.1.6 caused my UPnP players to disappear from LMS. They also did not appear this morning after starting up the laptop and installing 2.1.8 - but upon checking the Bridge settings, i noted the Bridge was turned off - (i.e. "Running" box unchecked) That was unusual - it is always running when i open its settings (which i have done a lot lately!) When i turned the Bridge on, the UPnP players reappeared in LMS. After that, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the MS C++ redistributable app to see if it would make the players disappear again, but my UPnP players continued to show up in LMS. Will give the (now dreaded) Boss Hog test tracks another spin in a little while. 2.1.6.1 works fine with the DSOTM track 1 and 2. No gap. Thank you for the hard work! Don't dare to upgrade to 2.1.7 if I can't revert to 2.1.6.1, though. (And to my defense for being grumpy: I actually posted about the problem already on Friday/Saturday, together with log snippets etc. A short message like "don't use the automatic update as I will send out several updates to solve another problem" would have been enough to revert back to the version that worked on my setup. I installed 2.1.6 via LMS and gave the same mp3 tracks as in previous logs a spin - but i did NOT first download the microsoft C++ update you recommended in the settings for Windows users - the result is the attached log, with a return to the skips toward the end of track 3 and of track 4, and i stopped it in track 5. So then i downloaded the microsoft distributable thingey, restarted, and ... neither of my two UPnP players would show up in LMS after that, so i could not test the result. Suggestions? Guys, I feel I have to say this... Regardless of how pissed off you are... ALWAYS remember that all the current contributors/developers to the Squeeze ecosystem are doing this for free, with considerable effort and in their own time, if you're not happy with their work then develop your own solutions... or move to another system, the last thing we need is contributors/developers getting battered and feeling it's not worth the effort to continue supporting the community - we absolutely rely on them all. For those that have been vexed over the last few days - learn from it, if what you have works and is important to you then leave it be, turn off auto updates, don't try and run every latest version - consider your actual need for a newer version and plan carefully before making any changes, make sure you have a simple path back to what was working for you previously... but please don't vent on a developer who is trying to fix problems. Hi Philippe as if you didnt have enough to worry about already, now you have been set upon by an angry zombie! :-) Here is the log for the same mp3 tracks played after install of UPnPBridge 2.1.4 through LMS, with all other settings in the Bridge unchanged. (Win 10 i7 laptop) The whole album played through without skips though I thought there was a slight pause at the end of each track that wasnt there before? Also, when I stopped the Bridge this morning to clear the log (and after updating to 2.1.4) then restarted, my real Squeezebox players had disappeared from the player list in LMS only my 2 UPnP players were showing. That could be caused by something else, but it did seem like it happened with stopping and restarting the Bridge. I was able to reconnect the SB Radio to LMS manually by asking it connect to the LMS library, but the Duet seems to be having a more serious problem not sure what has happened to it. Thank for the lecture on life. I asked earlier what version UPnP had before the recent chain of updates started to be able to revert and stop the automatic updates. Thank you for maintaining it, but for me it meant that my player stopped working normally, which it did for about two months. Hi Philippe - before i was able try playing the same tracks with antivirus off, i noticed you pushed out an update of UPnPBridge (2.1.1) through LMS. I installed that with no issues (Win 10 i7 laptop) and ... (drumroll) the whole Boss Hog album played without any skips, with Bitdefender antivirus/firewall still on! I attach a log for your interest - the extra debug command was still in place.
