RE: MSDN Path to Product Key?
1. Go to http://msdn.microsoft.com 2. There should be a link almost at the top on the right hand side named Manage My Subscriptions, click on this. Do you Passport stuff if necessary. 3. You should be on the MSDN Subscription Management page. The first link should be Subscriber Downloads and Product Keys. I can't go any farther than that because it seems that my employer has let my subscription expire. But, that should get you close enough to where you can view/request the needed installation keys. I've received my DVDs for the M$ Empower program (MSDN) and I'm trying to install XP inside of VMware on my Linux laptop. All is going well until ... I have to enter the product key. They gave me a card with several product keys but not for any of the XP OSs. The card states to do this and that and to click the Request Keys button. I have yet to find it. The instructions don't match the web site, of course. I called the 800 number but it's a holiday today. Could someone provide me with a walk through of the web site on how to get the product keys? Whew. I think I finally figured it out. I had to associate my Partner program subscription with the MSDN thingie and then all sorts of other things showed up. I ran into that same problem when I went from a subscription that was individually purchased to one that was on a volume license. It took several attempts to get it associated correctly with my Passport. Re: MSDN Path to Product Key?
* XP Is full installed * 63 patches installed * VFP Installed with SP1 installed ... and it's pretty peppy! My vfp benchmarks are showing that it's about twice as fast inside of VMware with XP on my Duo Core 2 1.8GHz than my XP P4 2.4GHz. Of course, I'm not running virus protection, firewall, or adware either. And it hasn't had a chance to slow down over the years of registry abuse. g I'm going to keep doing my major VFP development on the P4. It's nice to know that VFP is there for me when I visit a client. Kevin Cully wrote: Whew. I think I finally figured it out. I send them this email: I've received an MSDN subscription as part of the MVP program (where MVPs can offer a complementary one year MSDN sub to a business associate). I've tried the MSDN Subscriber ID I received in an email (see below) as well as the ID on the shipping paper (nn) but neither were found in your system. Step 2. They answer: Hello Whil, Thank you for your question. The Benefit Access Number is your MSDN Subscriber number: nn Step 3. I respond: Yes, I know that. (Look in the Subscriber Information section below.) As I stated in my email, I've already tried that, and I still get the The data you provided could not be located in our system Step 4.
