RE: MSDN Path to Product Key?

2007-01-15 Thread Rodney Dixon
1. Go to http://msdn.microsoft.com

2. There should be a link almost at the top on the right hand side
named Manage My Subscriptions, click on this. Do you Passport stuff if
necessary.

3. You should be on the MSDN Subscription Management page. The first
link should be Subscriber Downloads and Product Keys.

I can't go any farther than that because it seems that my employer has
let my subscription expire. But, that should get you close enough to
where you can view/request the needed installation keys.

Subject: MSDN Path to Product Key?

I've received my DVDs for the M$ Empower program (MSDN) and I'm trying
to install XP inside of VMware on my Linux laptop. All is going well
until ... I have to enter the product key. They gave me a card with
several product keys but not for any of the XP OSs. The card states
to
do this and that and to click the Request Keys button. I have yet
to
find it. The instructions don't match the web site, of course. I
called the 800 number but it's a holiday today.

Could someone provide me with a walk through of the web site on how to
 get the product keys?

If only there was an OS where it didn't need a product key to get it
 installed and working!!! g

I ran into similar problems when I entered my name to associate my

firewall, or adware either. And it hasn't had a chance to slow down
over the years of registry abuse. g

I'm going to keep doing my major VFP development on the P4. It's nice
to know that VFP is there for me when I visit a client.

Nope, it was the 'hentzen' part.

Of course, on my msdn sub, it's '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'. And that part
was found in their database. Just not Whil Hentzen.

Step 1. I send them this email:

I've received an MSDN subscription as part of the MVP program

tried the MSDN Subscriber ID I received in an email (see below) as
well as the ID on the shipping paper (nn) but neither were

Step 2. They answer:

  Hello Whil,

Thank you for your question. The Benefit Access Number is your MSDN

As I stated in my email, I've already tried that, and I still get the

Don't you just love them?

Yes, many people look at me odd when they first see it. I've thought
about switching it back but that would cause even more problems
