[ql-users] Q-emuLator 3.0.3 for Mac OS

2003-09-10 Thread Daniele Terdina

Not having been able to update Q-emuLator for Mac OS for a long time, I
decided to make one of the latest versions freely available:

  http://users.infoconex.com/daniele/macql.html

Thanks,
Daniele Terdina

[ql-users] Q-emuLator 2.3 for Windows

2003-09-10 Thread Daniele Terdina

Q-emuLator 2.3 for Windows is now available at

  http://users.infoconex.com/daniele/winql.html

This update is free for all registered users and it includes a number of
new features (many features available only with the "Expanded QL"
registration):

+ Compatible with recent versions of SMSQ/E for the Gold Card.

+ Read/write access to QXL.WIN disk images (used to be read-only).

+ If you download the additional debug_68k.dll, a QL machine code
debugger is always available by pressing F11.

+ TCP/IP: partial implementation of QDOS sck_ and tcp_ device
drivers.
There is enough functionality to run the QDOS port of the Lynx
Internet browser.

  + CTL1 joystick emulation.

+ Even better compatibility with buggy QL software accessing wrong
memory addresses.

Thanks,
Daniele Terdina

Re: [ql-users] Rogue page

2003-09-10 Thread Dilwyn Jones

The honest answer is that some of them are clipped from larger
pictures and I don't have the originals in many cases, so they
probably don't exist, or are in the hands of publishers when I used to
send the photos in to editors before I got a scanner.

Anyway, I think this is enough damage in one go!

I have a couple of answers for you Roy ;-) (And a Question)

There's no two white beams coming out of Dave Walker's nose. You are
apparently referring to his aura emanating from his third eye. It is
apparent that all decent luminaries have ESP abilities ;-). AFAIK Dilwyn's
ECTOQLCAMERA (Short for Ectoplasm Quantum image manipuLator Camera) is not
that advanced (it still runs on DOS that's why :-D ).

Lau Reeves is not in bed. I have it on good authority (from the grapevine
of course) that this was from a clip of the (unreleased as of yet)
masterpiece of Franco Jeffireli's "The Saint of Minerva: His Life and
Times".

What I really would like to know is:

a. What the heck am I doing in there? (Especially without my transparency
set ;-) hehe and ...
b. Why are you wearing a Ziggy Stardust outfit? :-D

(There said it ;-)

It is getting rather hot here too. I installed a fan which I ripped off a

[ql-users] QWord for Aurora (Non SMSQ/E GD2)

2003-09-10 Thread "Phoebus R. Dokos (Φοίβος Ρ. Ντόκος)"
Hi all,
for those who are going to get QWord for Aurora and run it under either non
GD2 enabled SMSQ/E or JM/JS/Minerva (Yes it runs there with full colour),
please note that CACHE_ON and SC2DIS will do a great deal of speeding it
up. Otherwise the "Setting up board" and QTYP look ups for bad words take a
loong time. On non SMSQ/E systems CACHE_ON makes it run almost as fast
as on SMSQ/E.

All the best,

Phoebus

P.S. To check out the demo version (and get maybe the demo manual) go to
Rich's page at: http://hometown.aol.co.uk/RWAPSoftware/QWord.html>

What I can say is that I run continuosly my Q40 with Linux and apache web server without any problem (at least visible) , but honestly I never opened the cabinet to test the CPU temperature.
Also the Q60 sometimes remain switched on  for long period (48 hours)without consequences and i do not have any fan cooler installed. Maybe I Should !

Hi Dave,
Lightining is not needed with QPC1 (QPC1 runs SMSQ/E which is faster
than
the regular QDOS Driver - IIRC QPC1's driver is even faster as it is
written in pure x86 assembly - Correct me if I am wrong Marcel ;-) ).
Professional Astrologer runs fine and so do most of the DP programs if
you
don't use very deep pathnames. (just tested it on QPC 1 although It was
a
pain to find a machine to put it in ;-)
For good measure I can send you also soQL-PPP to grab your email using
QPC1

Turbo exists and it's in version 4.20 now and freeware as well

ALl the best,

Phoebus
