[qmailadmin] autorespond + alias

2004-08-02 Thread Andrea

Hi *,

when creating a vacation message, qmailadmin creates it only for the
primary email address of the user, not for his alias.

How can I automatically set the vacation (autorespond) for the alias ?

I'm using qmail+vpopmail.

Actutally, to solve this problem, I have to do it manually editing the
.qmail-$real:$name in the ~/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.com file so that
this file is exactly the same as the .qmail file located in the
maildir of the users.

Thanks in advance!

Andera

2004-08-02 Thread Andreas P. Redecker
it's verry strage, but when i tried to reproduce the error today the whole
compilation went fine. It just gave me a few of these warning: this is the
location of the previous definition-messages. But works just the way it is
supposed to.
I'm very sorry wasting your time for nothing. But I don't have a clue what
went wrong on Friday. The only thing I changed on the system was adding
courier-imap and squirrelmail...

...but thank you very much indeed for the quick reply on my request

I tried the libtoolize-command as mentiond in the mailinglist
 archive but
 it does not help...

Can you send me a copy of subs-2.sed off-list? I'll take a look at
line 37 and see how/why it might be getting messed up.

Replace the alias with a forward.
i.e., have .qmail-$real:$name contain the user's email address
instead of his Maildir. That way, the message will get forwarded and
processed as if it was sent to the primary address.

QmailAdmin 1.2 and later only create forwards and this was one of the
primary reasons for doing so.

[qmailadmin] Mailing list and alias on a domain

2004-08-02 Thread Nicolas Croiset
Hello,
We have two domains with an original domain plus an alias on this domain.
We had created a mailing with the original domain, everything is fine with
the mailing list.

But we modified the mailing via qmailadmin with our login on the alias
instead of the original domain. the mailing list had been well modified
but, but the mailing lis is not working any more if we use the E-mail
adress via the original domain. We have a permanent error.

If I modified once again the mailing list via the original domain login,
everything is OK after the modification.

It seems that a mailing list is not working when you have alias on a
domain. The mailing list is working only on the last domain login.

Bye.

Imagine if you had 500 mailing lists, you really want it to check and remove
it from each list?

So what if it doesn't get removed, after a few bounces it'll get removed and
the problem is solved.

please define 'not working'

If you mean you need to have the mailing list address in the To: or CC:
headers, there are lots of ways to solve that, but it's not not working,
it's actually functioning perfectly correctly.

Hello,
I have a failure notice. I put the E-mail address in the to: field :-)

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at server2.radio-campus.org.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:
ezmlm-reject: fatal: List address must be in To: or Cc: (#5.7.0)
---
With the other adress [EMAIL PROTECTED], it's OK !
I think the problem is due that the full path is saved in the ezmlm
configurations files...

Thanks for your help.
Bye.

right and you said you logged in then with radiocampus.org and modified it
and
[EMAIL PROTECTED] stopped working but radiocampus.org started working.

This is extremely common, read the manpage for ezmlm-reject
Hello,
Yes I read it (-T option), but the mailing list had been created by
qmailadmin. Do we consider it as a bug ?

How is it possible solve this problem with qmailadmin when we create a
mailing list via the interface on a domain name which have domain aliases ?

Thanks for your help.

We have a number of customers that have trouble using qmailadmin because
their IP address keeps changing during a session. Is there any way to
compile qmailadmin so that it can work with
 changing IP's?
