Hi List, Is there any way I could create a global address book for my qmailtoaster Mail server? If there is, pls help me how to do it. To the best of my knowledge, you can create one for Squirrelmail, but that will not propagate to the clients. There will be some work in the future to incorporate LDAP into Qmailtoaster that may open some avenues to accomplish this, so you may need to look at outside 3rd party tools/projects to achieve this for the time being. - Qmailtoaster is sponsored by Vickers Consulting Group (www.vickersconsulting.com) Vickers Consulting Group offers Qmailtoaster support and installations. I am curious if it would be a good idea and/or advisable to copy the spamassassin database from my older server that has been in service for a while to the new one so that the new server doesn't have to 'catch up' with the old one. Catch up meaning that new server won't have the learning curve that it normally would. Also, I would like to replicate (sync) some of the other files - like the spamassassin .cf files, the spamdyke files (/opt/spamdyke/ etc) - things like that. Suggestions? Thanks, Scott

Hi Jake, I just upgraded (and reinstalled) one toaster that is now running CentOS 5.5 x86_64. Everything runs just smooth and lovely, except one thing. I (on purpose) removed all i386/i686 packages and libraries from CentOs and now I find that QControl is not quite noarch after all: # rpm -i QControl-1.1-1.1.1.noarch.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libc.so.6 is needed by QControl-1.1-1.1.1.noarch libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) is needed by QControl-1.1-1.1.1.noarch libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.1) is needed by QControl-1.1-1.1.1.noarch # locate libc.so.6 /lib64/libc.so.6 I could, of course, reinstall the i386 lib, but just in case there could be a different solution (e.g. a x86_64 compile) ... So then I restored fuse-unionfs-0.23, and figured I'd try building clamav-toaster-0.96.0-1.3.35 on CentOS 5.5. I was happy to see that it worked. So I tried clamav-toaster-0.96.1-1.3.36 again. Lo and behold (and to my surprise) it worked. Dang, I didn't expect *that*. So now I'm not quite sure what to think. I expect that a clean COS5.5 install (with no kernel updates) will work with no problem. Can someone test and verify this? I don't have any 5.5 install isos handy. It appears that all systems that have experienced this problem have had their kernel updated at some point, although apparently not all updated kernels have the problem, only very recent ones. I did have one COS5.4 host w/ kernel 2.6.18-164.10.1.el5 that had the problem. On that host, I uninstalled fuse and dkms (and dependencies), and reran qtp-newmodel, which reinstalled the packages, and that proceeded to work. That didn't work on my COS5.5 test host though. At this point I'm guessing that something in the area of kernel updates is causing a problem with fuse-unionfs. Most likely, there is something that needs to be done in the fuse-unionfs (or related) package in order to remedy the situation. Don't have any idea what that would be yet. I'll try upgrading my COS4.6 host and giving that a try. Not that it'll tell much though, as that's a much older kernel (2.6.9 IIRC). I think I'll also run this by the unionfs-fuse list and see if someone there can shed some light on this. I upgrade my COS4.6 to current, then tried qmail-toaster, spamassassin-toaster and clamav-toaster all together, and clamav aborted with the error. So I upgraded qmail-toaster and spamassassin-toaster by themselves, no error. Then I did clamav-toaster by itself to get a log with only clamav-toaster, and it ran ok. WTF. It's starting to look like it's intermittent now. I hate it when that happens. :( -- -Eric 'shubes' - Qmailtoaster is sponsored by Vickers Consulting Group (www.vickersconsulting.com) Vickers Consulting Group offers Qmailtoaster support and installations. I've tried everything you have put out to the list so far and every time it fails. Bummer. Scott - I'm actually glad to hear this. If it can be recreated, it's easier to fix. It's the intermittent bugs that drive me nuts. BTW, the verdict is still out on CentOS4.6. I notice that my test host isn't running the latest kernel. Maybe when I boot with the latest kernel it will fail again? [qmailtoaster] Scheduled downtime
I will be taking the Qmailtoaster mail server offline for about an hour on Saturday evening, after 9pm EST. This will only affect the mailing list and email to me. The website will not experience any downtime. [qmailtoaster] Two Questions
1) Is there a wiki entry for setting up DKIM? It seems like there was, but for the life of me I can't seem to find it. 2) Is anyone using the FuzzyOCR spamassassin plugin? If so, how is it working for you? Thanks, Scott
