[qmailtoaster] mdv QMT blocked by Sapmhaus but in PBL not in SBL
Dear All , I am running a QMT based mail server since from almost 3 years on Mandriva . Now when i sent message to one of the domain i got reply. Remote host said: 550-JunkMail rejected - (mydomain.com) [121.246.X.X]:57262 is in an 550 RBL, see http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=121.246.X.X; Now when i checked above link it suggest to me remove from PBL only if you have valid Reverse DNS to yours domain . Now my Domain is having DNS hosted via zoneedit.com and inside pointing to this ISP provided Static IP running qmail with MDV . [qmailtoaster] How to Wipe Out All log with Old Time Stamps
Hello All , as i caught up with Time Warp Error . Now i want to remove all the Logs and make a fresh logs with new time stamp of current System Time . is there any way to remove all old logs resides in /var/log/qmail/* , with older time Stamp , as i am receiving errors like this : every 5 minutes : 29-12-2007 04:00:01, Rateup ERROR: /usr/bin/rateup found that clamd's log file time of 1199364002 was greater than now (1198881001) ERROR: Let's not do the time warp, again. Asia Pacific : eth0: static IP configures with FST (firestarter) 2. my another eth1: LAN Ip :192.168.10.2 (Internet Sharing Enabled) Now Issues i am facing are as follows : eth1: 192.168.10.2 running Xampp (LAMP) + Qmail Server(QMT) on local intranet based only no outside mails eth0: Static IP configured with 50 Rules on Inbound and may be 60 rules for outbound .All LAN client are allowed for POP/3s - IMAP/s - SMTP / Submissions Ports. Now when my eth0: Asia Pacific ISP goes down and its router LED becomes RED in Color . Hello All , I am running Mandiva 2007.1 spring with QMT since from last 7 months without a problem . I hosted it on ISP static Ip given to us . I purchased a domain name too and pointing the MX record to MY QMT of mandriva . we have 100 accounts running well. Then I installed PHPBB Forum on the same server and It asks me to provide the valid Email id for sending the mail to the users for becoming Member of the forum So i supplied [EMAIL PROTECTED] Now one day i received the mail from rediffspam mail service . == Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mydomain.com I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. [EMAIL PROTECTED]: ( Its email of the user who wants to become a member of our Public free LUG Gp) Connected to 59.160.240.132 but greeting failed. Therefore, we instituted a policy of denying mail sent direct from dialup/broadband IP addresses. Please set your mailserver to send out mail through a regular mailserver, such as your dialup/cable/DSL ISP's mailserver (or any other mailserver which lets you use SMTP authentication to relay mail). This is called smarthost in most mailserver documentation and once you do this, your email should get through. HI , i am helping first time on this list , but list help me lot to reach on ths level ok. Just do one thing i think u wan to configure some mail clients like OutLook or Thunderbird , for which u want pop.domain.com or smtp.domain.com use urs DNS or Domain Control Panel go to settings Mail server or MX record , type there IP address of urs QMT Mail Server , it must be Static ip not of 192.168. somethng Save settings now. Now when any one will send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] domain will check MX and send it to MX entry , where POP or SMTP or IMAP must be live up , ok . then it will get deliverd to vpopmail mail box of that user.Thats It. Now but for Out Look or ThunderBird i.e called on Wiki is remote vpopmail users ...u need to recompile vpopmail with remote users option in ./configure ok , then create an Alias domain for urs main Domain :- pop.domain.com or mail.domain.com this way u got the Outlokk settings for Incoming server or Outgoing server. Velasco So your problem are 1. you can't receive email from external domain to your qmt's domain 2. and from qmt unable to sent to external domain ? for 1st case, did you already create an MX record in your domain zone ? for 2nd case, from qmt box does it able to resolve IP address of the destination MX domain ? qmt need dns server, most of the case this problem happen if dns server down or can't resolve. but it's depend on error messages. what your send log said when it tries to send out email ? that's from me, hope it can give you a hint. hope other qmt's expert can help you on this Hello, thanks very much for your help. The thing is I don´t understand what kind of MX records may I configure in my DNS Server. I have installed a cache DNS served with bind in the same Server as Qmt. But what may I configure to download external mails form my ISP? and to send external mails outside my local domain?. My ISP gives me the following information: mydomain.es. MX 10 smtp-01.servidoresdns.net. mail.mydomain.es. A - 82.223.x.x smtp.mydomain.es. Hi List , so now i am back with entire week , studying and troubleshooting Qmail with or without mysql , so finally i succeed in recovering Lost Mysql password and then as mention By Jake detail procedure of vpopmail database to re-installation , so now server is Up . Its gr8 to work with Linux and Toaster , Jake thanks once again , Now will configure Thunderbird and if got some errors then first will try and then will revert back for any suggestions from Gurus. Hi , I would like to Install qmail toaster without mysql and want all passwords to be used in standard qmail format. I have rebuild all toaster packages for mdv2k7.1 and now having vpopmail too. what i need to do if want it to install and configure / run without mysql support. havng only 80 mail boxses now. That's just the remote computer, since you're not doing DNS checks when contacting them. Finding your messages in the Spam folder is not uncommon, especially with a new mail server. If you move it to your regular inbox and report it as NOT SPAM, in the future it should not be put in the spam box. As far as the other providers I know AOL is especially strict with reverse DNS checks - if you don't have a reverse DNS entry, they bounce your message. They may do it silently now. In Yahoo, give it a few hours to make it's way into a folder, or for you to get a bounce message from them explaining why the message bounced. Hi , I have successfully recompiled all the mdk2006 rpm to mdv2007 and finished qmail installtion. I have deployed toaster . Now once rebooted the server : I tried following command : [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# qmailctl stat /usr/bin/qmailctl: line 47: svstat: command not found [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# qmailctl cont Continuing qmail-send /usr/bin/qmailctl: line 69: svc: command not found Continuing qmail-smtpd /usr/bin/qmailctl: line 71: svc: command not found I am not able to trace the problem .kindly help. As its main server i can not format and re-install again from scratch. Apart i am using firestarter firewall ,. so tweak around firewall.sh also. [qmailtoaster] Automatic Archiving of Qmail mails
Hello, i have a qmail server on which having 90 users now i want to automatic archiving of all incoming and outgoing mails of all the users , and when the archive becomes 900mb overall it should notify postmaster/administrator by mail so that he can take the backup on attached tape drive. Do i have a need to make some /home quota or every users MAILDIR on quota partation. Now i have straight / with 100 gb only . On which i have /home/vpopmail qmail configured . Or using some guidance here i can make my above mentioned requirement with existing without quota configured qmail server.. HI , i have a cpu with 2 network cards eth0: 192.168.0.2 having bogus domain name mail.cspl.com -- /etc/hosts -- 192.168.0.2 mail.cspl.com on which i have configured qmail server now on the same machine i have another network card eth1 : 220.225.172.x (static ip from ISP ) having static dns service from dyndns cns-support*.*homelinux.com -- /etc/hosts -220.225.172.x cns-support.homelinux.com Now i want to receive the mails from [EMAIL PROTECTED] to cns-support.homelinux.com so i modified the dyndns settings and make a MX record entry to cns-support.homelinux.com 1. is it ok ? 2. OR do i need to make an entry mail.cspl.com in MX record 3. do i have a need to modify the qmail settings on eth0 and change the mail.cspl.com to cns-support.homelinux.com now even my [EMAIL PROTECTED] can send the mails to [EMAIL PROTECTED] but cant receive the mail. in my /etc/resolv.conf contains an entry search cspl.com and name server given by my ISP . here eth1 is having firewall and i have forwarded all the ports like eth1 to eth0 (like pop3 ,smtp ,imap etc) kindly help me .!! Do i have a need write an entry for dyndns , as during installation of qmail i have installed djbdns rpm fro suse 10.1 but i haevnt configured any dns such as. my aim to receive the mails fro my local qmail server from gmail users. Hello Friends, i have configured the qmail-toaster on suse_10.1 x86 . i have one network card eth0: with static ip : 61.11.11.x this ip and nameservers are provided by My ISP and i am directly connected to internet . i have registered one dyndns name for the same static ip .(shail.homeunix.com). Now during my qmail configuration ihave specified my name server search domain unixhome.com (/etc/resolv.conf) and fqdn as shail.homeunix.com as well as in dyndns settings i have also set the MX records : shail.homeunix.com.. Now i tried to send a mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] via webmail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and it successfully reached the mail box of gmail . Now the problem is [EMAIL PROTECTED] tried to reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ..it dosnt give the back error of MAIL failure nor its reaches to the mail box of [EMAIL PROTECTED] .. I am worried whats the problem is ? even i have all the ports open through the firewall too like pop3 and imap etc. Pl help me .
