I would think that this would only effect the mysqldump portion of the
qtp-backup tarball. IIRC, the folders/files in the
/home/vpopmail/domains/ folder are in a separate tarball. Have you
looked for that particular tarball to recover the lost folder?

The mailstore is indeed in a different tarball, so if the folder existed
previously it should be in one of those backups.

First check to see if it's subscribed or not. If you can't subscribe to
it, log in to the server and see what's actually there:

# cd /home/vpopmail/domains/the.domain/the.user/Maildir
# ls -la
All of the existing folders are .* files in the Maildir.

If it's not there, then perhaps the user inadvertently deleted it.
You have backups, right?

I think I'm going with really tough time. Check every where even in
sub-folders and other accounts folders but didn't found the same. Not only
that I had scheduled to take backup using qtp-backup script every night at
12:00am. But today when I really need backup, my backup tar.gz file is
corrupted.

Today I enable my email id in crontab once the backup is complete. And I got
below error in mail

mysqldump: Couldn't execute 'show fields from `dir_control`': Got error 28
from storage engine (1030)

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file

tar: Unexpected EOF in archive

tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now Backup is complete and located
in: /backup/qmailbackup

What can be cause of this error? I think because of the same my all backup
files are corrupted which I never monitor.

Error 28 could be associated with disk space. Is /backup on a separate
partition, and does it have enough free space? Also please check your
/tmp directory.
