Often the shoulder blades and collarbone feels like it is broken, long after
the spine
has healed. I believe that it is due to a nerve harness that comes over the
shoulders
and crisscrosses over the chest, down to the diaphragm. These the muscles
have a bad habit of spasming causing that pain. Most anyone in massage
training
can work
those muscles. It takes some time. Chemicals help, like mint, hot pepper
rub and some of the store preps along with infra-red heat, to loosen those
muscles. Just make sure that they have some idea of what they are doing. Too
much
pressure early
on is not good. Check out your yellow pages for massage schools in your hood

Just to clarify for every one why she thinks that, is that I have severe cold needles burning in my whole abdominal area and back and have severe hot burning and needles in my butt, in between my legs, and down to my knees. Plus, I have tendinitis and bursitis in both my shoulders which causes some pain. The nerve pain is basically from my injury level down. And like Lori said, I have tried everything from medication to nerve blocks and nothing has helped. I recently had a baclofen pump put in and that has been a whole other story, but I am waiting to add pain medication to the pump. So no Lori, I'm calling my doctor Monday to find out if the medication (a local anesthetic, numbing medication) has arrived at the chronic pain clinic I go to (I've been waiting for two week! s for the medication). I'm praying this will be what I've been searching for for pain relief for nearly 12 years. Fusion, is a common protocol when a SCI exists. The difference between the
fusion
procedures are the materials used and where the point of entry is made.
Any 1st year med student could successfully perform this procedure, but best
left
to those who are specialist.
There is some partial mobility lost with a fusion, but it reduces pressure on
the
spine and helps reduce the swelling associated with a spinal cord injury.
Fusions, are normal performed as soon as physically possible, after the
injury to
stabilize the spine.

Years post fusion is a mystery to me.But I understand the reason

If I have to get it out of my safe to use it, it makes me think more about using a narcoticand its effects onmy body and quality of life before I use it. I believe the decision to use a drug, or herb,is an individual choice best left to each person to make on their own. Whatever works must be the right choice. :-)

Hydracodone is vicadin. May I ask: Aren't any of you who take such heavy narcotics worried about the effects of long-term use? They can seriously impair judgement, resflexes, bowel function and liver and kidney function. I'm not being judgemental. I took vicadin and other drugs for years. I kicked them after some bowel trouble and both legs being amputated due to diminished circulation caused by drug use.

Because it is a non invasive procedure, some chiropractors are doing it. But
as always... know your doctor or your chiropractor. Chiropractors, are
trained and taught
to manipulate the spinal to relieve pain and discomfort. However, in various
