How many of u had baed infections w/ supra pubic at first? Do any of u take 
anything to keep a "healthy" bladder while having the sp? I'm currently 
contemplating if I want to keep it or go back to straight cath due to my probs 
& totally leaked from urethra last night in bed.

my chills ended up being a bad infection. i was hospitalized over the weekend 
cuz i became septic. my sp has become a nightmare & i think it's due to my lack 
of education to it & being taken off my macrodatin

im a 31 one year old 7 yrs a quad and single mother. I have gotten myself in 
trouble being my own advocate. i only have one caseworker and one homehealth 
agency left that will take my case. ( im a difficult case) i guess. neway they 
know this so i have to take their crap. i had recieved a grant for a van that i 
could get converted so i could get around. i trusted my caseworker with it and 
the vehicle she got cant be converted. im going through voc rehab for drivers 
training, but now i have a vehicle im paying insurance on and cant do anything 
with it. i dont know what to do i cant have a car payment i only make 720 a mo.

I've read quite a few posts/emails about dieting as a quad & thinking I've been 
doing it wrong all these years by trying to focus on fat grams & ignoring carb 
intake. Yet as I read on low-carb diet/lifestyle I'm confused as all hell as 
what to not eat, like the majority of my food such as whole wheat bread, 
instant maple-brown sugar oatmeal, raspberry yogurt, apple sauce, 
graham-crackers, etc.. WHAT CAN I EAT? I'm beginning to understand why I've 
gained weight over the years & I can't even look at my stomach in the mirror! I 
need detailed advice from others w/this problem please. 
I'm a c-4-5-6 [c-4(left) c-5-6 (right)] since 1986

Carla, it is almost certainly dysreflexia. I think about every member of this 
list including myself has experienced those miserable sweats. The frustrating 
thing is it can have many different causes, only two of which are bladder and 
bowel. Absolutely anything that could generate pain can cause it. The two drugs 
that best calm the sweat glands are ditropan and propantheline. Most of us take 
one or the other, and usually they are pretty effective. Do you take either of
