RE: [QUAD-L] dr.G (Friday night lights)
Hi John Those are really good questions.I've been plagued with the edema since I was in rehab. The only drugs I take are Levbid, an occasional Tylenol, and vitamins. The edema goes completely away every night when I go to bed, and returns in the morning, when I get up in my wheelchair. Because I had no insurance for eight years, when I became eligible for Social Security I went through a battery of tests to determine if I was still alive! LOL. They determined that everything was in the right place and working well, and that I was doing very well. Great news for me. No news on the edema however. Today is five weeks since I came to bed to treat these wounds, and I am remaining edema free. However, I would rather live with the edema, than live the rest of my life in bed, (fancy that). _ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, February 07, 2007 4:44 PM To: quad-list@eskimo.com Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] dr.G (Friday night lights) Joan, are you sure edema isn't a side effect of some drug you are on. Re: [QUAD-L] dr.G (Friday night lights)
figure out why fast and either remedy it or die. I was on macrodantin and my doctor was ignoring the edema in my hands and legs and when I looked in the PDR it described the side effects and if I didn't stop taking it I would die. I stopped, had the nurse remove the IV and chart it as rtama refused treatment against medical advice. My doctor acted like he was pissed when he showed up and I pointed out that I saved him a malpractice lawsuit and went about finding another urologist. john -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; quad-list@eskimo.com Sent: Wed, 7 Feb 2007 7:48 PM Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] dr.G (Friday night lights) John, what do you do when water fills up your lungs? Hi Joan, Do you take a diuretic? I do and that really helps with swelling only it was on my legs and feet. I don't know of for having from the same reason, but I would think so? Just wondering I take hydrochlorothiazide . Dana

I watched the first episode and saw where it was heading, so not wanting to rehash all of the things I went through when I was injured, I decided not to pursue the show. I have, however, heard from other people it is quite good, but it is not my cup of tea any longer. Dan, Funny, I was going to ask the list if any one watched this show. We watch it every week. He did agree with the father that he would breakup with the girl but after he talked with a guy who also is in a chair that was his rehab room mate told him he should have told the father 'where to go' mocked the f/u finger which didn't straighten, as we all know :-). So after talking to his buddy he decided to ask her. The kid was a quarterback who broke his neck during a game. I think they've been doing a pretty close job portraying him as a quad from other shows I've watched. You wrote 'para' but he's supposed to be a quad. The reason I say this is his fingers are curled up (which is why I say they 're doing okay for portraying him as a quad). But ...anyway, yes, I 've watched it from the start out of boredom one night I like the show. Diane
