RE: [QUAD-L] dr.G (Friday night lights)

2007-02-08 Thread poajoan
Hi John

Those are really good questions.I've been plagued with the edema since I was
in rehab. The only drugs I take are Levbid, an occasional Tylenol, and
vitamins. The edema goes completely away every night when I go to bed, and
returns in the morning, when I get up in my wheelchair.

Because I had no insurance for eight years, when I became eligible for
Social Security I went through a battery of tests to determine if I was
still alive! LOL. They determined that everything was in the right place and
working well, and that I was doing very well. Great news for me. No news on
the edema however.

Today is five weeks since I came to bed to treat these wounds, and I am
remaining edema free. However, I would rather live with the edema, than live
the rest of my life in bed, (fancy that).

Joan, are you sure edema isn't a side effect of some drug you are on.
Swelling fingers is often a sign your kidneys aren't functioning up to par.
I have found that when my fingers are sweling, my lungs are next to fill
with water.

Hi Joan,

My fingers curled enough that I can grasp a pop-can and hold it in what
looks to be a natural grasp. The pinkie on my right hand curls downward,
but not a lot.

figure out why fast and either remedy it or die. I was on macrodantin and my
doctor was ignoring the edema in my hands and legs and when I looked in the PDR
it described the side effects and if I didn't stop taking it I would die. I
stopped, had the nurse remove the IV and chart it as rtama refused treatment
against medical advice. My doctor acted like he was pissed when he showed up
and I pointed out that I saved him a malpractice lawsuit and went about finding
another urologist.

Dan,
Funny, I was going to ask the list if any one watched this show. We watch it
every week. He did agree with the father that he would breakup with the girl
but after he talked with a guy who also is in a chair that was his rehab
room mate told him he should have told the father 'where to go' mocked the
f/u
finger which didn't straighten, as we all know :-). So after talking to his
buddy he decided to ask her. The kid was a quarterback who broke his neck
during a game. I think they've been doing a pretty close job portraying him as
a
quad from other shows I've watched. You wrote 'para' but he's supposed to be
a quad. The reason I say this is his fingers are curled up (which is why I
say they 're doing okay for portraying him as a quad). But ...anyway, yes, I
've watched it from the start out of boredom one night I like the show.
