You could add a rule like this to the top of your FORWARD chain:
-I FORWARD -i vif+ -o eth0 -d lan_subnet_here -j ACCEPT

Depending on how your VPN provider configured the VPN route commands, 
this may allow your VMs to talk to the LAN through the VPN VM. But there 
is no easy way to (consistently) allow this for only particular appVMs 
and there is the risk that a compromised appVM could attack devices on 
your LAN, identify you to third parties, etc.

qubes-dom0-update will check all signatures for you, manage dependencies

Can I simply use dnf in dom0??
I thought (as it is a bad idea to add lots of packages to dom0) I need 
to download the packages in an App-VM, transfer it to dom0 via "qvm-run 
--pass-io APPVM 'Path/to/file/in/AppVM' > /path/in/dom0/file"


If I try to run "sudo dnf install scrot" in dom0 I get a "No package 
scrot available"

(which shouldn't work by design)

According to the documentation 
(https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/software-update-dom0/) the better way 
should be:


If I try to run "sudo qubes-dom0-update install scrot" I get:
Running command on VM: 'sys-firewall'...

No package install available.
Error: unable to find a path

What am I missing?

do lsusb and look at your devices.  see what bus numbers they on.

then do readlink /sys/bus/usb/devices/usb#  # = whatever number you saw from 
lsusb.

Then add those controllers you want to sys-usb.

Delete the sys-usb and recreate it.  if you having problems create it with 
qubesctl command.

just install win 7 first.  define how big you want it,  or just shrink it from 
within windows after install and leave unpartitioned space for Qubes.  Then 
choose option in QUbes to install alongside windows, Then, after install,  you 
will have to add windows entry to the Qubes grub menu to boot both.  When I get 
around to it, I'm going to try to add windows to my Qubes grub too.

Just copy your user's home directory from dom0 to somewhere else. There
are several hidden directories that contain the settings you mention
(~/.config, ~/.local, etc. etc.)

That's also what happens when you select "dom0" for backup.

I have sys-whonix set up to use Tor bridges. However when I run the 
shell command 'ss -a -r -t' I can see that some of the traffic is sent 
to IP addresses other than the selected bridge.

[qubes-users] Custom sys-usb on Qubes 3.2

Hi there,

I've had to install Qubes without sys-usb because some of the devices 
attached to one of the usb buses would not work (touchscreen, memory 
socket), even after reassigning the relevant USB bus o dom0 as I used to 
do in Qubes 3.1.


After installing Qubes 3.2 without sys-usb, I created a service vm for 
usb devices and on the VM services configuration tab I assigned the 
second USB which carries two USB ports to this newly created "custom 
sys-usb" VM.


However, when I start this VM and then plug-in my USB stick, the do not 
show anywhere, not even in dom0, as if the second USB bus had vanished.


What can I do to selectivly assign USB buses to sys-usb and make them 
work?

I want to keep xcfe settings, desktop layout and shortcuts in dom0 so 
that if for whatever reason I have to reinstall qubes (same version or a 
different one) I don't have to do all the work again.

[qubes-users] Making /home and /usr/local non persistent

Hi there!

I need to be able to start DVM's from different templates 
simultaneously. This feature is not available as far as I know.
For this reason I am trying the next best thing which is to make /home 
and /usr/local to make sure that nothing is left when I power down a 
standard Template based VM.


How can I achieve that?

Thanks drew, I managed to install android x86 4.4kitkat, no problem related to 
the operating system, but when I turn off the machine and try qubes manager to 
get it started, it says there are no bootable hard disk
