Same thing happened to me, but it happened when I pulled the plug while it was playing. When it came back up with the red wifi symbol, I thought, "No! I don't want to set it all up again!" Luckily, it came back up as normal when I power cycled it a second time. -- bubbasamdog bubbasamdog's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34359 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71596 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

If I turn the Radio all the way off (press and hold the on/off button), or unplug-replug, it boots up and does not reconnect. I have to manually go into networking and reconnect. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] alarm is not working reliable
The changed IP really can't be the problem. I reconnected my router manually several timers and the MYSB connection was still there. Maybe changing the IP contributes to the problem in a way, but this can't be the main source of the issue. -- 0xdeadbeef 0xdeadbeef's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2287 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71585 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

usch;487928 Wrote: > You have to be connected to the internet to play an -alarm sound-? The alarm-times are configured in the device but stored on the server (MySB.com or Local-Server). At least for the first alarm the devices save the time locally and (are supposed to) play a 'backup/fallback sound' if something goes wrong. With the Boom thats some beeping, the Radio has a local mp3 with some 'funky' music but I also had times when it started to beep as well. So (except the situation where power fails) at least everyone should be waken regardles of server-status and errors. Unfortunately this mechanism doesn't work currently very well :( Thats why people most of the time have problems when: - connected to MySB.com and having switching IPs (as the radio currently has big troubles automatically reconnecting to MySB.com with a changed IP) As most providers (at least here in germany) shortly disconnect and change IP at midnight, tests on the evening always work but the alarm fails next morning. - have a local server that is not stable - have wakeup-streams that are not stable Rumour goes, that the upcoming Touch release is currently prioritized higher than fixing the alarm problems. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] alarm is not working reliable
You have to be connected to the internet to play an -alarm sound-? If that is true, that's an absolutely ridiculous concept. As if my cell phone had to download the ring tone from the carrier everytime when someone calls me. Even playing a sound from the local server is not much better. As I understand it, audio is transferred via HTTP which has no built-in error detection. For example, if the network has a hiccup while the server is sending data, you might end up with an audio file with a size of 0 bytes. The alarm sound should be downloaded in advance and stored in the radio's memory when you set the alarm, everything else just has to fail sooner or later. (Of course that would only be applicable to regular alarm sounds, not to radio streams. But then, when you set a radio alarm on a conventional alarm clock and the station suffers an outage, you won't hear anything either.) -- usch usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71585 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Mine is about 2 feet from me. I think I might get this but only when I do not turn it off and fall asleep with a playlist going (which ends after I am asleep). BTW. My radio is about 12" (300mm) away from my face and the edge of my (white sheeted) bed. How far is yours away from a reflective surface? I ask as during Boom beta testing it was found that the reflections of the Booms own display were affecting the light meter and hence the brightness of the screen. I am hoping Logitech fit the Radio with the same brightness controls included with the Boom. MC -- ModelCitizen Think the third party Squeeze plugins and applets are important? Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] alarm is not working reliable
"Good" to know that it also can be spotted in the US. Good in a sense, as it should be easier then to fix it, if someone tried. Currently I stopped looking for further bugs and writing bug reports because as long as there is no single sign, that someone really starts to care with high priority on the known bugs I'd only feel more frustrated (and hell you can read from my other posts how frustrated I already am). I think we should put together some money to buy a radio as a present for higher management. Maybe that would shift their priorities ? -- bluegaspode 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 1xSB-Radio Server (7.4.1) running on SheevaPlug (Ubuntu) with attached Western Digital MyBook Essential.
