Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio Station not available?
So just to be clear as I have found these posts confusing due to my limited knowledge. I want to play Z100 (owned by Clear Channel) on my set up. I am running squeezeserver 7.4.2 on a Unix NAS (Synology 207+) and I have three Duets. I run everything through squeezeserver not mysb.com. As of four days ago Z100 stopped working on my set up. Is there a plugin or a setting I can change in my set up to continue to listen to Z100? -- jwagner010 jwagner010's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29405 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78791 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] A few issues I need help with
Hey guys, I bought my Squeezebox Radio a few months ago. At first it was awesome, but lately I've been having issues galore with it and I wonder if anyone has had the same issues: 1) Without rhyme or reason, the radio goes from playing to standby from time to time. It always goes back to the clock screen, though sometimes the background is black sometimes it's a grey to black gradient - I can't figure out any pattern or reason for that either. I've seen elsewhere that this might happen when the internet radio stream is dropped - is that for sure? Is there any setting that can be changed to get it to retry the stream for some period of time? 2) My mysqueezebox.com account no longer thinks my radio is connected. The radio is on and playing an internet radio station upstairs from a favorite stored on mysqueezebox.com, but when I log into mysqueezebox.com it refuses to believe my radio was connected. I deleted my radio from the list and it said I had no radios registered. Restarted the radio, it was back in the list but still Not Connected. I'm hoping there's some solution to this aside from doing a factory reset. I especially need to get the remote control feature back because . . . 3) . . . when visiting one particular internet radio station I listen to a lot (OTRNow: http://www.otrnow.com/tunein/otrnowlive.asx), the hardware buttons at some point during the stream all stop working. I can't go to standby, change the volume, go to the home screen or go into settings from the player itself. As far as I've experienced, this ONLY happens on this station in particular, but it's really really annoying because the one thing I can do it power it down fully and restart it. This is a minor headache when I want to change stations, but when all I really want to do is lower or raise the volume a little it's seriously annoying. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I want to love this radio like I did when I first got it, but it's kinda driving me away right now. Thanks for the reply - I do use both, so that could be it. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] dropping connection after firmware update
My inbox this morning had an email with the subject Logitech wants your honest opinion. The body said: At Logitech, we're always striving to improve our products, so we'd like to hear what you think about your Logitech® Squeezebox Radio. Tell us what you like and what we can improve. Be honest. What you think is directly linked to what we do and how we can improve. (And it will only take two minutes!) We realize you had a choice. Thanks for choosing Logitech! --- There were 3 questions; what can we do to improve the radio, and what do you like about it. The third was a scale from would not recommend to would recommend to someone else, though I can't remember their exact words. I gave it the lowest on that scale based on my experience. I wouldn't wish this internet radio on anyone as it is right now. As for improvements, I said STABILITY!! Then described how unusable the radio was until I set up my Mac Mini as a Squeezebox Server. Not a consumer-friendly alternative, though it gives me what I thought I'd purchased when I bought the radio. On its own, it shuts off repeatedly, forgets presets, and on-and-on. It's a disgrace to Logitech at this point. -- linrey linrey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37639 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76938 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Plays fine here, but I'm on XP. RadioTime lists the stream type as: A non-standard external stream type that may or may not work So I have no idea what type of stream it is, nor is that info provided anymore on the players. :( If it was playing for you before through your NAS and now does not, maybe the station changed it's stream format? If they changed it to WMA, doesn't a NAS device not play WMA as it has no Windows codecs or something? Just a wild guess and I don't use a NAS so I'm just guessing and throwing out ideas. :) -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78791 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio Station not available?
To play WMA on Synology NAS, many of the Synology range of NAS (i.e. those who do not use x86 processors) used to require a special version of mplayer and a modified plugin as well as the NAS used a cut down version of Linux. First it is better to identify the stream format. What URL are you using ? Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio Station not available?
If the player can play AAC natively (i.e. a Radio or Touch) then the URL which has AAC will play even mysb.com. The problem is that on mysb.com the Internet Radio search (which is driven by radioTime) seems to be set up so that it will never return an AAC streams so users get confused thinking the stream cannot be played on Radio/Touch. This is a bug in mysb and should be reported. I think the problem is probably in formats routine of SDI::Service::Player::SqueezeNetworkClient which is called from the RadioTime plugin (via Squeezeplay.pm) but the source for this module is hidden so I cannot confirm -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78791 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
