What's not working for you? I've had a couple of alarm quircks, but
otherwise have been happy with my Radio. Certainly the "most basic
stuff" has been solid for me since day one. (Maybe we define basic
stuff differently.)

2010-09-10 Thread 0xdeadbeef

Guess their is really no reason to believe that the next update will fix
any of the blatant bugs and design disasters. They nearly had one year
now since the release of the Radio and still the most basic stuff is
not nearly working and neither the developers nor their management seem
to even realize how broken the software and design really is.
I really gave up hope some months ago that the Radio will ever become
useful let alone a pleasure to own. It just the lack of alternatives
that makes me keep this piece of crap, but I'm annoyed about its quirks
every single day of my life.

Problems, *yes*.
Resigned, *no*. I'm ready to pulverize and immolate my Radio in the
backyard in a most spectacular and cathartic performance. Stay tuned.

It's too late to take it back to the store. I took a chance, in spite
of what I saw on these forums. I was hopeful. Stupid me.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Now Playing artwork is not updating! HELP

2010-09-10 Thread TJ_

It's getting worse.

I changed absolutely nothing on my end, and suddenly today instead of
Now Playing, all I see is "Current Playlist: Nothing". This is when
playing internet radio via msb.com, as usual. Rebooting does *not* get
rid of it.

I know people were complaining about seeing the generic antenna image,
which is all I ever saw, but now I'm kind of wishing I had at least
that.

WHAT IS GOING ON AT MYSQUEEZEBOX.COM?

At least with a classic table radio, you could look at the dial to know
what station you're on.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Wired connection not possible

2010-09-10 Thread doubleugk

Test without factory reset and update to firmware 7.5.1-r9009 was
positive. Switching connection between LAN and WLAN works without
problems. So I believe it was a bug in the previous firmware.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] So when does the next firmware update come out?

2010-09-10 Thread aubuti

It's really not obscure. If you want to file an official bug, do it on
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/ (of course, after first checking to see if
it has already been reported).

You can always report problems in this user-based forum, or on the
official Logitech forum (forums.logitech.com), but bug discussions get
lost in all the traffic. The tracking system that the developers use is
http://bugs.slimdevices.com

I don't see postings of so many complaints as previously, but the

that I wonder if people have just resigned themselves to accept the

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Wired connection not possible

2010-09-10 Thread doubleugk

Thanx - with the factory reset it worked. And then it's also possible to
switch between the LAN and WLAN connection without problems. But I
assume it's a bug when one initially connected to WLAN and later wants
to connect via LAN and it doesn't work. After the factory reset I was
prompted to update the firmware to the latest version 7.5.1-r9009.
Maybe a possible connectivity issue was solved with this version. I'll
test a firmware update with my other radio and post the result here.

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] So when does the next firmware update come out?

2010-09-10 Thread aubuti

You could install the nightly beta versions of Squeezebox Server on your
pc and it will update as they come out, but be warned that those are
works-in-progress and there are bound to be problems from time to time.
Overall, new fw comes out when (a) there is a "critical mass" of bug
fixes and/or enhancements, and (b) it has passed the QA process. There
are no fixed intervals for updates, but if you monitor the Beta forum
you may get an idea of the time horizon for updates, but not fixed
dates.

New firmware for the Radio is usually released shortly after updates
for the other Squeezeplay-based products (Touch and SB Controller). The
Radio comes last because if something goes wrong it is harder to
rollback the firmware because it doesn't have an SD card slot or USB
port like the other devices.

why do you need one?
the actual is the first one which is stable and usable => at least for

any update would probably just ruin already working things!
