Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Software updates again and again and....
The reason is that Mysqueezebox.com only knows about the latest official release, hence it currently wants you to upgrade to 7.6.1. Similar when you then switch back to your ReadyNAS; the SBS running on that will like you to update to 7.5 as it is the latest release in its little world. For Radio you can reject the upgrade, but the Receiver you can't. The option is to upgrade SBS on the ReadyNAS to 7.6.1. I do also think that you can fetch the individual firmware files and put them in the right folder on your ReadyNAS; then the server will think that they are the right ones... I think that I have seen this mentioned 1-2 times in here. -- slate Main: Receiver (Audiocom) - Beresford Caiman+ (Gatorized) - Carver A-500x - BW 704 Office: Receiver - Luxman L-210 - Stax SR84 Pro/Superlux HD668B Server: Zotac IONITX-A, 4 GB, 1 TB WD EADS, Win7 w. 7.6 (SQLite w. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] EU : must shut down and tur on to listen to radios
I had the same exact experience on 31/12-2010 when MySB Europe went down. When MySB came up in the afternoon my radio was unable to connect until the BIG switch was pulled. However, the radio is one I just bought for my sister and I have NOT made a reserved IP for it in my router as I am just running burnin until it can be handed over; so that could be it. I will make a reservation and check next time MySB is down. Everything else have reserved addresses FYI my sister lives in Spain; Squeezeboxes are hard to find down there and way cheaper here. Created an account for her on MySB and it has been running since 23/12 until 31/12 when MySB died. -- slate Main: Duet (Audiocom) - Beresford Caiman - Carver A-500x - BW 704 Office: Duet - Technics SU-V50 - Stax SR84 Pro Server: Zotac IONITX-A, 4 GB, 1 TB WD EADS, Win7 w. 7.6 (SQLite w. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] So when does the next firmware update come out?

The server seems and wants to resize the album art, what the heck is taking that look ? I am not sure how and what Winamp does, but if you just have very simple needs one can store data in a simple file and it can be very fast. SBS uses mysql which is a bit overkill and eventhough powerfull a bit of a drag in this context. I assume that you are running 7.5.1; in that case you can look forward to 7.6.0. In 7.6.0 SQLite is replacing mysql as default database. The scanning is faster using SQLite, and SQLite is also used for handling the artwork to give it more snap. All in all 2-3 times faster.
