[RE-wrenches] Schneider Tech Support

2023-10-23 Thread Vince McClellan via RE-wrenches
Hello
Have any of you been in contact with tech support at Schneider? I haven't
worked with their equipment in several years. I'm working on repairing
another contractor's system, and when I tried to call tech support in the
middle of the day, no one answered the call. I remember several years ago
there was a special number to press once you were in the Schneider tech
support answering system, but if you followed the prompts you wouldn't
actually get to tech support.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help,

Vince McClellan

You should have a mobile number directly into support. I just used it last
week. If not you are going to have get one from them. If you write me off
list I will try and help you get in.. I am cc'ing Sandra also at Schneider.

Re: [RE-wrenches] Schneider tech support AWOL?

2019-04-12 Thread William Miller
Ditto here. I tried it when the subject first came up and heard nothing.

Therefore it was very handy to know the one digit, unannounced extension for
tech support during a recent problem with XW inverters. I know we weren’t
supposed to share that one digit number, but I am very glad we did.

And by the way, I reached competent tech support immediately on the first try
and after about 10 minutes on the second call.

Kevin,

Thank you for the update and clarification. I want to expand on your
description of the situation.

The call center for technical support is in Denver Colorado, so when you call
in you are in the US. The system supporting the end-user is in Madrid for the
moment.

Hi folks,

Thought I'd give an update as to what I have learned in this process. Sandra
Herra reached out to me and has been very useful in clarifying what has been
going on here and helping clear out the backlog. I wasn't impressed when the
first tech asked me to provide photos of the display showing the fault codes on
a failed controller and asked if I had rebooted it.

From what I have gathered, it appears that the Schneider renewable energy tech
support has now gone to a new overseas call centre or some such entity, and
they really dropped the ball in actually letting their techs on the ground (us)
know, or even having this up and running before they shut down the old system.
They know they screwed up.

The first step is to register, which is nothing more complex than entering your
name and address.
https://solar.schneider-electric.com/installer-registration/

Once registered, you will get an email back with the "top secret" phone number
which looks odd as it is an international number, but it does work. Why they
don't have a regular 1-800 who knows. Curious what 011 international calls will
cost us.

The new email is
solar.support@schneider-electric.com<mailto:solar.support@schneider-electric.com>

I suggested they put some sort of auto-reply function on
re.techsupp...@schneider-electric.com<mailto:re.techsupp...@schneider-electric.com>
to let people know that this address is now ignored.

Hopefully this is smoother sailing, time will tell if they have techs who
actually know the product, or are just reading out of a manual.

I went through the Schneider tech online support application process and
received back a curt email that didn't give me access to their tech support
forum and didn't answer any of my questions. After several days of waiting and
sending out emails I finally got the new tech support access number from a
friend. In the meantime I was having an issue with the Xanbus network on a 20kW
stand alone system and my client was losing patience. I'm not sure what glitch
happened that I was not able to get the information that I needed by going
through the Schneider tech support application process. The telephone support
numbers that they sent me in emails as the tech support access numbers were not
even real phone numbers. I talked with others that had the same experience at
that time so I know I wasn't alone in my issues with getting though to tech
support. I'm assuming that Schneider has corrected the issue by now. The guys
at Schneider tech support have been awesome to work with and I'm still
specifying Schneider products for most of my battery based systems.
I didn't know that that number wasn't to be shared as I didn't get any real
information from Schneider regarding the access number. My apologies!
I do agree that it's important to not have our clients call tech support
directly.

Kevin,
Please contact me directly with case numbers, and I will follow up with the
team.
We are working on smoothing out the process, not to make excuses but we made
several changes that have created challenges.
Starting from creating a different access point for end-user and professionals,
then we moved the team from California to Colorado. We are actively working the
bugs, but I know we have also had some IT issues with email response.

Hi Wrenches,

Curious if anyone has had any response from Schneider renewable energy tech
support of late? I have submitted 4 cases over the last 3 weeks, couple
warranty claims, couple tech questions - and have had absolutely zero response.

My clients are starting to get irritated, and it is wasting much time.

Re: [RE-wrenches] Schneider tech support AWOL?

2019-04-06 Thread Howie Michaelson
William,
I have not tried to reach Schneider recently, so I can't speak to any
changes in the last several months. However, previously, my experience with
their tech support had been generally good, and certainly never comparably
bad as the good old days of Xantrex. Hopefully folks' recent bad experience
is an anomaly, I've been putting all my eggs in that basket.
And I think their new support protocol actually has installers in mind, by
giving us a less crowded phone support when we need it. They vet folks to
make sure they are actually installers and they're resources are geared
toward the folks we really want them to support so that we are not left on
hold for hours. Hopefully this is working the way I assume it is supposed
to be working.
Howie

[RE-wrenches] Schneider tech support AWOL?

2019-04-05 Thread Kevin Pegg
Hi Wrenches,

Curious if anyone has had any response from Schneider renewable energy tech
support of late? I have submitted 4 cases over the last 3 weeks, couple
warranty claims, couple tech questions - and have had absolutely zero response.

My clients are starting to get irritated, and it is wasting much time.

Kevin
