John,

this can be done with the CE27 software from Vertex. Setting the
frequency boundaries and rx tuning are described in the 'CE27 EEPROM
Programmming Software Reference Manual - Supervisor Edition'. I
assume You have got this from Vertex since You are an approved dealer
for this equipement.

[Repeater-Builder] Micor and ICS Controller

2005-12-16 Thread Ronnie Steve Rice
Hi all, I have been fighting with a problem now for 2 days and must
be missing something! I have a micor repeater with a Station card
and a ICS controller and I am triggering the controller cos from the
Squelch Ind pin 5 on the old squelch gate board connector. I am
using the Ptt out to the rptr PTT with a mosfet to ground the
transmitter osc. Discriminator is coming from pin 10 of the old
Squelch gate Card connector. Now here is what is happening
1. Trip squelch Pin 5 goes high
2. Ics Controller trips repeater
3. Receiver Pin 5 goes low and stays low until transmitter unkeys

Of course that keeps the transmitter keyed until I manually unkey
the radio. I also notice that there is no audio from the receiver
either.

If I put the squelch gate card back in and a station card everything
works fine as far as keying and repeating.

Maybe something is telling the reciever to stop or rf is getting
into the receiver somehow shutting down the squelch ind. Any help or
thoghts. Thanks Steve

have found is that when the transmitter is keyed the squelch Un-

[Repeater-Builder] Motorola ELPA Module Box Power Amplifier SGTF 1045A 859-894 MHz

2005-12-16 Thread Bil Munsil
Motorola ELPA Module Box Power Amplifier SGTF 1045A 859-894 MHz

I have questions - does anyone have answers?

All I know about this unit is that it's an expandable linear power
amplifier and designed for 869-894 MHz.

Seems like it puts out up to 600 watts - 4 transistors x150
watts/each and takes 26 VDC.

It was given to me so I have no money in it.

I would like to use it for 910.25 MHz (plus and minus 4.5 MHz) for
HAM TV with FM audio.

Can anybody help?

As of yet I haven't been able to find the cause...

If you cannot find any KXN1052A's, KXN1019B's will work in their place.
*To my knowledge* the only difference between the two bands is in the
series resistance from the splatter filter (on the exciter) to the
modulator. Why? The modulation of the UHF exciter is tripled and
therefore needs to be only 1/3 of that of VHF, therefore the KXN1019B
will work just fine, it may just provide more modulation capability; and
*may* require the mechanical position of the IDC control to be set lower
if using a KXN1019B. Remember, the Micor UHF Station uses a VHF
exciter. *I don't know* if the resistance is in the element or the
exciter. It may likely be that the UHF exciter has more resistance
and there is no difference between elements, I don't know.
