[Repeater-Builder] RC 1000 controller code table

2008-12-17 Thread wb8art
Anyone have a copy of an older version of the code user tables? I
have chip version rev 4.34, and the RB sites text is rev 4.7.. There
are some differences apparently and it would be nice to get the
correct tables.

The Old codes were 3 digits like 100 ,101,102,103
the newer versions had 4 digits 4100,4101,4102 Ect..
 try that

[Repeater-Builder] RC-1000 Controller question

2006-05-11 Thread frostbitnome

Our club has a Maggiore Hi-Pro repeater with an RC-1000 controller.

Question: I have the RC-1000 manual, version 4.3 dated July 1, 1995.
It escapes me how to access the controller via DTMF to do some
changes. I am confused what the A and D control and user codes are.

1. I want to be able to turn the repeater on and off
2. I want to disable the CW ID'er

The repeater sits 40 miles from town on a mountain. Can someone tell
me the sequence in plain english on what it is I need to do to obtain
these two tasks, which I want to do from my home base via DTMF.

You may email me directly at home if you wish.

Thanks,
Nate, KL3NP

A is beside 3 and D is beside #.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] RC-1000 Controller question

2006-05-11 Thread Jim Brown
Nate, the RC-1000 is programmed by opening the controller for
programming input by sending two code sequences. The unlock sequence
has a 'D' prefix hard wired and can't be changed as I recall, with two
additional characters. A typical sequence would be something like 'D7B'
and D7C'. The unlock sequence should have been changed from the
default sequence as it came from the manufacturer.

When programming is completed, the controller is locked again with one
more D sequence.

Programming is pretty straightforward once you understand what is
happening. Issuing the two separate unlock codes in the proper sequence
is part of the programming security.

Once the controller is unlocked, you issue the four digit sequence for a
particular function along with the code you wish to use for that
function. Note that some codes have a dedicated prefix that you can't
change. You do not use the dedicated prefix when programming the function.

If you need to download the manual, Google MCC computing and you will
find it on line.

Re: [Repeater-Builder] RC-1000 Controller question

2006-05-11 Thread Jim Brown
Access to the AXX and DXX control codes can be enabled or disabled
 with two
control codes; Control Code enable and Control Code disable. When
 disabled the
only control code to function is the Control Code Enable. These codes
 do NOT
affect access to the * and # user codes.

The above is from the RC-1000 manual. This means that you have to enter
the two unlock codes in the proper sequence to do any of the 'A' or 'D'
functions.

 Repeater enable 4100 A_ _
 Repeater disable 4101 A_ _

To enable the repeater, issue the A__ code (whatever has been programmed
in with the 4100 command). Remember to unlock the controller before
entering the code. To disable the repeater, unlock the controller and
then enter the A__ code that was programmed with the 4101 code.

 External ID en/dis 4140 D_ _

With the controller unlocked, enter the code that was programmed for the
4140 function (Dxx) to switch to external ID. We used this to allow
EchoLink to ID a repeater and stop our ID from propigating down the
EchoLink connected station.

 CW ID timer interval4076 _ _ @3C = 8 minutes

Or you could set the CW ID timer interval to 00 to disable the CW ID.
ie, with the controller unlocked, issue the command 407600. The 3C
value would set the ID interval back to 8 minutes.

Remember to lock the controller with the lock code when you are finished.

The controller will respond with a low-high tone when a function is
turned on, and with a high-low tone when it is turned off.

I hope some of this helps -

the A and the D are defaulted into the software
you cannot change them
so you may have the code A45 on and A46 off the 45 and 46 you
program into the Controller same with the "D"
I dont have my manual handy.
I am running several of these controllers...

The Ron Wright RC1000 is a little tricky. Make sure you have the
correct Control Program Select Code List (Table 15.1) for the Revision of
your controller. You should use the table that is in the book that came
with the controller. They are all different. I have a number of these RC1000 and
they drove me nuts until I finally got the correct Table 15.1. Email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] so we don't burn
up bandwidth and I will try to help you get the thing to program correctly. Tell
me the "sel codes" your having trouble with. After I got it fairly well figured
out, its a pretty nice little controller for the price.

RE: [Repeater-Builder] RC 1000 Controller

2005-03-13 Thread Richard

If the controller gives you the beep indication that it accepted the
function change, then it is automatically saved. Are you
programming/changing the DTMF access code (function code) for a particular
function, or are you actually changing the parameter (such as the tail
beep)? The reason I ask is that in order to change either of the parameters
you mentioned, programming does not need to be enabled.

At any rate, if whatever you changed (and verified that it was indeed
changed) reverts to default after a power cycle, then it's possible there
may be a hardware problem in the controller. It is unlikely though, as they
are pretty bullet proof.

ReRC1000..I experienced same problem you mentioned about it accepts
the instruction by giving RR but it really didn't. I call the controller
the fortune cookie controller because it lies to me by saying it accepted the
code but it really didn't. First off, don't be afraid to do a reset on the
Micro Processor. Its a pain doing everything over again but it's good for
youbecause ittaxes the mind. Once started, don't stop in the
programming process. There might be a little timer in there that goes to sleep
if you stop mid stream and continue a few minutes later. There are two different
resets for themicro P. When doing, leave ground lead on reset pin for few
seconds. Don't just ground it and think everything is empty. A cheat sheet is a
good idea. Again, are you sure your Table is correct for the micro P Rev you
have? He changed some codes from En/Dis to a separatesel code for En and
Dis. Ron is a very nice person. You give him a call in Florida and he will be
glad to help you. One very important thing is to be absolutely sure your Touch
Tones are correct and the encoding radio is on frequency.I have trouble
with the D codes. The controller accepts by giving the RR but it didn't really
accept it. Don't forget the 3 second or longer pause required between
Programming Enable 1 and Programming Enable 2. When programming, everything must
be perfect. If you are a little more specific I might be able to help. Am
willing to try.
Kevin I apologize for the bandwidth. If this is too
much, holler.
