Another part that's also NLA from Motorola are any of the toggle switches used on the digital and remote metering panels. Similar mounting style to the ones used on the station, but not right-angle. CK was the manufacturer. It would make a lot of sense to replace both switches on the station. It only takes a few minutes more, and at least they'd both be the same length. It works fine and fits the mounting holes on PC board exactly. The hardest part is getting the front panel off the tray without breaking any of plastic tabs that hold it on. If I was at work I could give you the part number, they are made by CK electronics and I lost 2 of them in the last 6 weeks. Must be age related? Jack K6YC 11a. Well, in the USA, it is illegal to give away the copyrighted software that you asked for, especially if it's Motorola's. It's even illegal to resell old copies according to their license agreement that legitimate owners sign before being allowed to purchase the stuff. So when their lawyers come knocking on your door, you won't be so quick to thank us. [Repeater-Builder] Re: Motorola MSF5000 s/w required?
Why would they come knocking on MY door...surely they would knock on the persons door that sent it? This is the main reason why Motorola are largely avoided in the UK due to the 'closed door' attitude. I would bet that I would have a real problem finding an authorised dealer willing or now able to program a 5000 for me. I wonder how many Motorola repeaters throughout the world have had their proms 'tickled' by borrowed s/w? Again...THANKSCheers Dave UZN --- In Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com, Bob M. Ian, It is far from my intention to upset all the nice people on here merely get an MSF5000 onto 70cm's No it's not an MSF1000 it's a 5000. Probably the people I have rattled have 'borrowed' s/w anyway. John 8 v 7 ! Bring back Key,Kyodo,Cleartone,Kenwood,Uniden,Yaesu etc where there isn't a shroud! AnywayEnd of subject (unless anyone wants to carry it on?)
