[RDD] Dual Monitor Card Suggestions

2022-04-19 Thread ijames

Good Afternoon,
I am Re-posting this question just in-case it got lost in the emails.
I wanted yo know if anyone has any suggestions on video cards. I was
thinking to get dual Monitor card. I have been trying to get this system
to get better video resolution. The highest I can get is 1360x768. I
also changed the motherboard so still getting the same size.
Since RDPlay is 1360x768 the bottom buttons are not accessible because
of screen size.

I have Centos 7 can anyone suggest any cards that will work.

Thanks

[RDD] Rivendell and BT SRC-4

2022-04-19 Thread waynetaylor
Good afternoon distinguished Rivendell users!

I have an occasion to implement 4 GPI/O using a Broadcast Tools SRC-4 with
Rivendell 2.19.3 running on CentOS 7. The connection is via an on-board
serial DB9 port.

Rivendell needs to send serial to the SRC-4, for example:

*0OR1L (to latch relay 1 closed)
*0OR1F (to open relay 1)

Rivendell would be "listening for serial date like:
*011 (input 1 closed)
*010 (input 1 open)

You get the idea...anyway I'm looking for tips, tricks, documentation,
pitfalls to watch out on this project.

So far, I've managed to get the computer working with the SRC-4, and can
get data from it and I've been able to close/open relays on it using
PuTTY, but I haven't been able to get Rivendell to talk to it yet.

Any help you care to offer is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your
time and expertise.

Best,

Wayne

Thanks so much for your suggestion and help. Unfortunately, I've still not
been able to figure this out, though I'm still experimenting. I guess I'd
expect RD to Render logs exactly as if they were playing in RDAirplay, but
it obviously doesn't. it's quite clear that the two modules treat fades and
segues quite differently, at least as far as voicetracks are concerned. I
use an external USB audio card. Is it possible that a system with an
Audioscience card might deal differently with this?

I also found the "rdrender" command-line argument mentioned in "man 1
rdlogmanager", so I feel like I'm a step closer to my goal, if I can only
figure out these pesky fades.

As for the "fade on segue" fix I sent to Tim, there were 2 errors involving
quotes, for which I apologize. Here's the corrected command:

mysql -h localhost -u rduser -p Rivendell -e "update CUTS set SEGUE_GAIN=0
> where CART_NUMBER in (select NUMBER from CART where GROUP_NAME = 'voice')"
>

That command will prompt for the "rduser" database password which you can

Do you have a valid user context? Look on the titlebar of RDAirPlay; you should
see something like ‘User: user’.

Sounds like something got borked in the database conversion. That’s a very old
Rivendell version that you upgraded from
(schema version 205). The DB converter routines in v3.x (and v4.x, for that
matter) support schema versions all the way
back to 159 [v1.0.x], but only schema versions 242 [v2.10.x] and later are
really well tested. If possible, I would try
converting that DB using the latest v2.x version (v2.19.3), *then* use v3.6.5
to convert it to ‘current’.

Re: [RDD] Upgrade problem

2022-04-19 Thread Rob Landry

This may be a clue. Running rdairplay from a terminal window, when I
select Sound Panel and press the Setup button, then click on Panel S:1 to
rename it, the following message appears in the terminal window:

QSqlQuery::value: not positioned on a valid record
for query: select `CONFIG_PANELS_PRIV` from `USERS` where `LOGIN_NAME`=""

That suggests that rather than defaulting to the user 'user', it thinks
I'm logged in as a user with a blank name.

I'll see if there's away to upgrade the old database to 2.19.3.
