[RDD] RDLogEdit v3.5.0 not showing new Services
Hi all, I made a new Service in v3.5.0, but in RDLogEdit I can only see the old Services. When I do a Log Report there, I can see the logs I created for the new Service. However, the Service does not appear in the dropdown at the top and those logs are not in the list of logs. Obviously, I need RDLogEdit for numerous things! Help! [RDD] Updates in Rivendell 3.5 off or on?
Hi all, Are updates automatically on in Rivendell 3.5 on CentOS 7? If so, do people recommend turning them off and how is that done? I want to be sure if my systems update, I know when it is happening and I can manually do them all at once. I used to turn the updates off in Rivendell 2.10 and then run a command to update when I was ready. If that is still possible in the new setup, what is the command to update? Thanks! [RDD] Hot keys
The hot keys on my CentOS 7 Rivendell 3.5 are not working. I can set them from another host in the database (note this is a restored database from Rivendell 2.10). But they do not actually work. Then if I clear them and try to set them fresh, the keystroke I want appears for just a second and then disappears so that I cannot set it. I found one old post about this in the archives from 10 years ago that described the exact problem of the keystroke disappearing quickly, but I am curious if anyone else has this trouble or has found a way to fix it in Rivendell 3.5? It is so mysterious. Thanks so much for any help. I loved using the keystrokes as hot keys in Rivendell 2.10. [RDD] Pulseaudio mixer for CentOS 7 like alsamixer...or disable pulse? Or different sound control options?
Hi all, Previously, I just used alsamixer to adjust individual inputs and outputs and channels on my sound card. Now there is this pulseaudio layer involved that I'm not used to. Is there a mixer I can download like alsamixer for pulseaudio - that works in CentOS 7? Right now alsamixer controls what comes out of the soundcard, but it doesn't actually adjust anything that is playing, the meters stay the same. And the PulseAudio Volume Control doesn't appear to do anything when I adjust it. I saw some older posts, but no recent discussions on how people control the audio with CentOS 7 and Rivendell 3.5. It's an M-Audio Delta 44. Also, I've never used Jack before, so I'd need tips if people recommended going that route. Thanks for any help! [RDD] Audio store in separate location than Server mysql?
Hi all, I am SO very thankful for the help everyone has given me so far, as I re-try to figure this out... My question now is: We keep our audio store on network drives and just the database on the Server/mysql machine. For Riv. 3.5, I built the Server and one Client machine. On the Client machine I entered the IP address of the Server according to the directions. However, now, I am having trouble mounting my audio store in a separate location. I successfully, manually, mount my network drive as /var/snd on the Client, but when I reboot it remounts the Server /var/snd as the audio store. I found the /etc/auto.rd.audiostore file, but it says: THE CONTENTS OF THIS FILE ARE MANAGED BY RIVENDELL'S RDSELECT SYSTEM! DO NOT HAND EDIT! Is there a way to edit where it looks for the audio store? Or do I need to build Standalone machines instead of Client machines in order to keep my audio store elsewhere? (and then edit rd.conf to look for the mysql database on the Server and mount my network drives using /etc/fstab as I did previously?) Back when we first built our system, I don't remember if we had these different options of Client or Standalone. [RDD] Error when setting MariaDB password on Client machine
Hi all, In following the directions for the new build, everything went smoothly, until one of the Final Details: Set the MariaDB administrator password with the following command (substitute your password for *pwd*): *echo "SET PASSWORD FOR root@localhost = PASSWORD('pwd');" | mysql -u root* On my *Server* machine this step appears to work with no problem. However, on my *Client* machine, I get this error: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) Do I not need to do this step on the Client machine?? I ask this because even though the step produced an error, the Client machine is happily playing a log from the database I restored on the Server. Please any thoughts or encouragements?! [RDD] Music times changing?
I am using a computer I have not used previously to edit logs (we edit our music down to the second because we have programming that has to be hard timed) Anyway...we edit in RDAirplay because this is the only way to see the "real time" of how the songs will play with the segue markers, etc. On this "new" machine, the times are changing after we have edited the logs. Everything "re-sorts" after it has been edited. Any idea why that would be happening? A bad sound card? Other ideas? Our music is on network drives. Thanks for any help/insight! [RDD] AutoTrim Threshold
Hi! When I set the AutoTrim Threshold to 0 in my rdimport command it works great. (Keeping my Liners, etc., exactly the length they have been edited to.) However, I went into Configuration>RDAdmin>Manage Hosts>RDLibrary and set it to 0 and now instead of importing the items exactly the length they are - it is adding dead air to them. i.e. a program that is 26:00:00 when I open it in Audition is 26:08 after I import it into the library.
