[rt-users] RE notify colleagues about a ticket in RT web interface (not by mail)
Hello, here, when someone need help from someone else, he writes a comment as you do, and then gives the ticket to the person from who he wantq support. A scrip informs him by email, and the ticket is now in his list. When this second person has finished helping/commenting, he can give back the ticket to the firt person. This is a simple mechanism, but working here. Hello, thanks for the hint, but it doesn't work as expected. In fact, in the advanced page, the fileds used are : '__DependsOn__', '__Children__' each of them is, by default, creating by itself a List of clickable ticket IDs, and i'd like to add subject and formatting. Hello, i'm trying to build a search wich would have a colum displaying the tickets links exactly the same way as is TicketDisplay page (with 3.8 install) I found two things : - this code related to the above page is in /opt/rt3/share/html/Elements/ShowLinks - in ticket search engine, i can display children/DependsOn links, but the result will only show ticket ids without formatting. Should i create a new ColumnMap (as recently discussed) pasting some code from the ShowLinks File, or any simpler way to modify the existing colums ? Could someone help me choose the best way to go ? After a few month dealing with RT, i've been gaining some perl programming experience, thanks guys ! The second problem is that if the SLA field is set to (no value) then the scrip gives the error Low is no longer a value for custom field SLA, which could be the same issue as the first? Not able to fill the actual field? Any thoughts on this? When the child ticket is closed, a scrip updates the master ticket and changes the Custom Field in that ticket from Required to Complete Every thing works fine at this point. I then decided that it would be a neat idea if when the child task is completed, the next child task could automatically begin. In theory, to do this would simply require that the On Resolve scrip update the next Custom Field in the workflow, setting it to Required which should trigger the next child ticket. After adding a few extra lines to the On Resolve scrip I am now automatically updating the Custom Field in the next step to Required, which should trigger a condition. This is where I'm stalled. It seems that the Condition is not triggered when you programmatically set the Custom Field to Required. If you unset it and then set it back to Required manually it works just fine. Hi, I installed the extension RTx::BecomUser on my 3.8.8 RT, and the option displayed as expected in the menu. I can choose someone to become, and can see the Congratulation messages, as well as the name changing on the top bar. But this is short success as i have configured RT to have Apache Authentication for pages... so as soon as i click on another page, i become myself again Is there any way to keep the selected user active with apache auth, or may i be a new feature for this plugin ? Hi, the email stay in the internal network of the company. From RT to SMTP sever then to mail clients. Both server and mail client accept html email, and looking at the email in text, i can see that everything is kept es RT sent it. Only Lotus Notes won't display PNG images, so i did the previous mentioned patch to have pie chart/Bar graphs working. thanks for your answer. I have some graphs I send out in a dashboard and they all look fine. The only problem I've had with dashboards is the No Limit option doesn't really work and the output gets dropped after a certain number of lines. The graphs show up fine (I'm still in 3.8.7). Two considerations, your email provider (Gmail, etc.) may not like the html or whatever format you are sending and it has to be configured for that type of info. Maybe it wants text only. The other consideration is what you might have to do to RT to configure output in email to make graphs display inline. I really don't know as I haven't had to look into anything like that as yet. One step further : Lotus Notes won't accept PNG images, but will show GIF images So for the pie chart to be displayed correctly, the following patch did the trick : in /opt/rt3/share/html/Search/Chart line 191 -my @types = ('png' , 'gif'); +my @types = ('gif' , 'png'); but for the tickets relathionship graphs things are harder. I made some tries on /opt/rt3/share/html/Tickets/Graphs/dhandler lines 71 through 76, by changing png to gif but the result is not so immediate. On the WebUI, refreshing my browser, the image alterns between, having a black backgound, not displaying at all, displaying correctly. There must be another file to patch... hi, on a RT3.8.8 i've successfully configured NTLM authentification, but now i have a problem with fetchmail wich takes the emails from an imap server. As long as you guys plan to rip out what you don't need, it can be useful as a baseline of instruction on understanding terminology, privileges, notification scrips, searching reporting (including dashboards), and on. The first thing we noticed is that RT now uses the Real Name variable to show who posted comments/replies into a ticket, instead of the Username variable, which we were previously used too. In our case, all staff members Real Names are set to our company name, so after the upgrade we are unable to tell which staff member posted a comment/reply because they are all listed as our company name. The only reason we have our Real Names set to our company name, is because we want our staff members names to remain anonymous in Correspondence to customers. I have no problem changing our Real Names to our individual names, and that will fix part of the problem because we will then be able to see internally which staff member has updated a ticket, however doing that will then mean that when we send Correspondence to customers, they will see the staff members Real Name in the FROM field (eg John Citizen via RT). So I believe as well as changing our Real Names to our actual real names, I am also going to need to mofify the correspdance template, and some how get it to strip out our Real Name in the FROM field, and replace it with our company name. [rt-users] multiple files upload not working
hello, i'm using RT 3.8.8, and added a custom filed type multiple files upload (french Télécharger plusieurs fichiers) to tickets. It shows correctly on ticket creation, but the popup box allows only single file selection. this popup is named (Choisir un fichier à télécharger) choose a file to download. Upload multiple images has the same wrong behaviour. Tested with both firefox and IE, and found no related information in the mailinglist archives. Could Someaone help me find the reason ? [rt-users] changing priorities on the fly
Hello, on a RT3.8.8 We're using Dashboards with tickets order by priorities to see current actions. During meetings we want to change priorities of displayed tickets. to achieve this we need to : click on the ticket name, go to essential view, change priority, validate, and finally clisk a shortcut to the dashboard. this is not very user friendly What we would like is to be able to change priorities while in the dashboard view. Either by drag'n'drop (ideal but many UI coding seems necessary) or having the priorities being combobxes (drop down list) or having +/- buttons next to the priority number or having http links in custom fields launching a scrip to update the priority (like an Up arrow, and a Down arrow) the only solution i found is to have the priority number clickable to the modify.html page, wich save a few clicks i tried adding a custom field style combobox to the tickets but the dashboard still display the actual value not the combobox. maybe it is possible to modify the ColumnMap to show the combobox instead of the value ? The other solution i'm considering is in the ticket search engine when adding a column to display we can choose a Format:Relation with standard transactions actions, and resulting in something like : 'a href=__WebPath__/Ticket/Update.html?Action=Respondamp;id=__idQueueName__/a' Would it be possible to start a custom Scrip action when clicking the link instead of a web page ? or maybe a custom html page ? Hello, The quick descritpion symptom i have is sometimes RT is not displaying the colors edited in the FCKEditor. In 3.8, the CSS is unnecessarily restrictive to allowing only colors using rgb() rather than #hex. It's fixed in 4.0. If you really wanted you could backport the changes to ScrubHTML from 4.0, but that code has moved around so you'd have to adjust it appropriately (and know what you were doing). hi everyone, (on RT version 3.8.8, sending via smtp command) when forwarding a ticket with several attachments, i have the following behaviour : a zz.xls file is attached correctly as a xls file a xxx.TXT file is displayed in the body a yyy.log (containing plain-text) file is attached as a yyy.dat file theses are 3 differents things depending on the file type/extension. what i want is to always attach the files with original filename/extension where are the config option to setup attachments behaviour ? I haven't found any revelant option in RT_SiteConfig / RT_Config files ... may it be in the linux smtp configuration ? Another issue is that the field in the received mail are in english, although my RT interface is in french. Is there an option somewhere to force RT using the french equivalent words in the email ?
