We'll never win one of these games with the coaching
staff we've got. I still despise Joe Kines, but I'd be
happy if Shula would just fire Rader and hire a real
offensive coordinator and give him full control of the
offense. In other words, Shula's fucking play calling
doesn't impress me a gotdamn bit. He needs to stop
calling plays like the national championship is on the
line, and start calling plays like a bowl invitation is
at stake. Someone needs to give Shula a fucking clue,
cause he damn sure ain't got one.

Bama Fans, one day, I don't know when, but one day
Bama is going to win
one of these close games in the 4th qtr and then
things will turn around
for them. Until that happens they will struggle with
confidence problems.
I can't help but wonder why the offense doesn't try to
run outside more.
Every running play seems to be geared toward running
inside. With
Darby's speed and his ability to make guys miss, I
wish they'd run the
toss sweep or do something to try to get the ball
outside the ends.
Damn, I'm hurting, I hate losing to Tennessee so much.

Bear Bryant's sister dead at 94
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Services were held Saturday in Nashville for Louise
Goolsby, who was Alabama coach Paul Bear Bryant's sister and his last
living sibling.

Goolsby died Tuesday night of heart failure at her home in Nashville.
She was 94.

Goolsby recently visited Tuscaloosa to attend an Alabama football game.
Bryant Museum director Ken Gaddy said Goolsby was surprised at how many
people remembered her brother and held him in such high regard.

Goolsby was the seventh of the nine Bryant children. The legendary coach
was the eighth.

Goolsby was active in the Donelson First Baptist Church in Nashville.

What's wrong with blaming CMS?

Franholio had it going on, no doubt about it. Some have
criticized his recruiting while at Bama, but under the
circumstances I can't imagine anyone else doing a better
job. With all the uncertainty facing the program during
his tenure, about all we could hope for was not to lose
any legacy recruits. I can't imagine a Keith Brown, or
D.J. Hall signing with Bama if they'd come along 3-4
years earlier.

But I just think all that uncertainty provided Franholio
with a convenient excuse for leaving. I don't think he
would have stayed with us much, if any longer regardless
of the circumstances at Bama. Certainly not long enough
to return Bama to domination.

Jeff Todd wrote:
What's wrong with blaming CMS?
This is a tough question without an easy answer. There's several excuses
as to why he shouldn't be blamed such as the fact he's still wet behind
the ears as a head coach and he's still a victim of circumstances that
were out of his control when he got the job. But the real rub, in my
mind at least (and probably yours as well), is that an *experienced and
successful* head coach would have a winning record over this 21 game
period, whereby CMS has a losing one. One can blame the coaches he has
on his staff, one can also blame it on *just plain bad luck* with
injuries to key personnel during that 21 game period. CMS needs to make
some staff changes and philosophy changes during this off season, no
doubt. I seriously doubt either of those will happen.

Franholio had it going on, no doubt about it. Some have
criticized his recruiting while at Bama, but under the

I don't disagree with this theory, but all I was saying is just imagine
if he had stayed for say 15 years and was happy and content to close out
his career at ALABAMA. Bama would have dominated. How many times have we
gone into places like Auburn and Knoxville and blew away those two teams
like we did while he was here (throw in LSU as well). That gave all of
us hope that Bama truly was on it's way back to the place it used to be.
Nothing over the past 21 games has given us hope that that will happen
any time soon. That is extremely frustrating. Yes everyone says be
patient, but Fran showed us what could be done and he did pretty quickly.

I defended Coach Fran to the all too bitter end. If he would have had the
character and staying power that I believed him to have had, he would have
stayed. But he didn't, so screw him. Maybe the powers that be should take
a look at themselves and wonder why he left? Was it something in the
administration? If so.are those people still in place? If so..why
aren't they gone? If Fran had stayed and developed a true love for Bama
instead of using us as a stepping stone, things would be looking up right
about now.

But he didn't.and things are not as good as they should be.
One day they will be though. Until thenRolltide any damn way.
