I hate to say it guys, but I too have come across some white valve covers. I too have a white valve cover on one of my '88 Dodge Daytona Shelby-Zs, however it used to have black one on it before I got the white one off another one in a bone yard. I broke the original black one on my white Daytona and purchased the white replacement one. It pisses me off and I think I will strip it and repaint it. RE: SD Installing a wastegate can in a GLHS
Mike, it's usuallt either a circular flat clip or a cotter pin, depending on if it's the original clip or not. Needle nose pliers have always worked for me in both cases. If this replacement part is the kind with the threaded adjustable end, then you have to twist it around. If you make the length exact, then the exhaust pressure will just push it open. You need some tension on it, generally acentimeter or so has yielded me 7-10 psi depending on the individual setup. The neato thing about one of these adjustable arms is that in essence it sets your minimum boost, and then your boost controller does the rest based on vac signal delay. On Gus' old website he has pics of his setup, where he took a stock wastegate arm and modified it to work the same way. He actually used it as a boost controller, since there's no fuss, and little if any spike (because there is no delay). The more tension you put on the canister (menaing the shorter you make the arm), the longer the wastegate stays shut and hence the higher your boost goes. SD Convert T2.5 to TIII?

RE: SD Convert T2.5 to TIII?
LOL, well it has been done before... How much of the head did you get? Cams, lifters, followers, intake, exhaust, valve covers. The head will bolt on, but you'd lose the distributor (T3's use distributor less ignition) The timing belt stuff is different, etc. You'd definitely need to have a computer reprogrammed to drive it properly. I'll let the more knowledgable T3 folks give you the down and dirty details. Also I believe if you look into the 10 digits archive on thedodgegarage.com you'll find some info about the 2.5/lotus head stuff. SD WTB: 89-91 Daytona Shelby/ES/IROC plastic front lip
Hi all. Looking for a front lower lip for my '89 Daytona Shelby. This is the one for the last years of popups (it goes along the bottom of the front end with the two long, thin vents between the headlights). Gonna paint it but the one on mine is thrashed from crappy towtruck services. Any color ok but if someone has a red one that will be the shizzle of the year. How much including shipping to 91737 in California if any of you has one. SD white valve covers
This is another picture of an old flat silver valve cover. This is what the silver color on the later engines looks like when it gets old. I have been looking at these since they were new cars. As the engines have aged the color goes to this flat silvery white color. They were never white new. The early valve covers the paint falls off, the later ones turn out like these. Re: SD white valve covers
As Richard stated, Chrysler never used a white valve cover new from the factory, period. I have followed this thread some and having worked at a dealer from the time the first turbo cars came out in '84 all the way till last year I have seen the full range of factory turbo cars come thru the dealer both new and for service, TI, TII, TIII, VNT and the occasional Mazi powered cars. Never a white valve cover, not one at all. The later covers starting around '89 would turn white with age and cleaning but they came new a silver finish. Hope this helps to dispel the urban myth being started here. SD FFV stainless fuel rail on turbo engine?
Just curious if a FFV fuel rail would be any type of upgrade over a stock T1 2.5 rail.. I like stainless.. pros/cons? I know its for the methonal alternative fuel setup and what thats all about.. 2 things I noticed were the braided lines, id have to run my stock regulator and grind off the return lines crimp fitting dealy... Also it doesnt have that strange little round dealy on the throttle body side.. Will this work and benifit in any performance aspect? Isnt this the only MPFI NON TURBO style engine? thanks..
