I don't know about carb cars. I know turbo cars. In turbo cars, ALL power
module between 85-87 are exactly the same, even L body. You can swap put a 85
in a 87 and the car will work just fine. There is nothing special about a power
module, even a manufactured one. Power Module does what the Logic Module says,
the programming is actually inside the Logic Module, LM tell the PM when and
what circuit to turn on and off. There is no programming inside a PM.

Exactly, the later years added more features for the unit so they would no
longer have to use a separate kick panel computer. For the earlier carburated
models these units had vacuum unit on the side to plug a hose into.

The later computers for the turbo & EFI models had a blockoff in that area. So
I know at the the least it's for a carburated model but there is about a dozen
or so different variations of them and I don't know this ones exact application.

I contacted a good friend that runs the parts department at the local Dodge

Rebuild the stock turbo, spend the money for injectors, wideband, 3 bar map,

I am currently in a debate about what
turbo to put in my 85 Shelby
Charger.  Right now, it still has the stock Garrett in
 it.  I am
running a MP Stage 2 LM, a two piece Shelby intake, larger
 injectors
(to match the LM), a newer 4 wire 02 sensor, and an SRT-4
 intercooler.
The engine though is pretty much the original stock 2.2,
 aside from
being punched out .40 over.  It does have the desirable
 head on it
(can't remember the number though - maybe 735?).
 Anyway, the car has
been sitting for a while, and I know the turbo is on it's
 way out.  I
am just trying to figure out if I would be better off just
 rebuilding
the one I have, buying a new one, or buying a bigger
 one.  I know I
don't want to spend a ton of money since I don't drive it a
 lot, but I
would like to do something to it to make it a little more
 fun to
drive.  Any thoughts, questions, concerns?  :)

 Hi All
I failed the emission test for Albuquerque, the HC's are
 just a little too
high at idle. I have noticed that my rich lean gauge rides
 1-2 bars above
center  at idle. After the test I changed the plug's,
 wire's, cap, rotor, I'm
going to  do a oil change next (it needed all this
 stuff anyway, I've been
lazy and just  letting it go) . I did switch out the
 fuel presser regulator
with a used  one I had and that seem to help a bit
 watching the R/L gauge
now it just  flutters above center. I was thinking if
 the regulator was making
it  rich at idle I would need to put some miles on the
 car to burn out all
the  unburned fuel and watch the R/L gauge.  I
 have not tested again (first
test 20 bucks, retest 10 bucks) but thought I would see if
 anyone had any
 words  of wisdom.
The car is the Shelby Lancer it has about 80,000 on a
 rebuilt 2.2.

Looking for a little help, I am trying to fix my dads 88
 daytona shelby z. it is a t2, 5 speed with .63 a/r turbo, i
believe 40% injectors, 2 piece intake, adjustable fuel
pressure reg at 30 psi. The fuel pressure is rising when it
given throttle, so i think the pump is fine. Anyway my
problem is that when you give it throttle it bogs really bad
to the point where it is not driveable. there is no check
engine light on. and it idles just fine. it just got new
plugs and fuel filter, needed both, but still same problem.
All 4 plugs looked the same, carbon fouled. Anyone have any
ideas on which direction to point me. Also what psi should
I have the fuel pressure reg at idle.

 Thanks

the 89 (or is it 90?) Omni axles but I'd like to get
 the beefier
