For ppm levels of several thousands, a gravimetric assay
should be sensitive enough a method. Just take gross and
tare weights before and after evaporation of the water from
the microdyn. The evaporation can be done without
heating. Just let the microdyn sample sit at room
temperature in an open beaker, but covered with a
filter paper, for as many days as it takes to dry out.
Incidentally, I used this method to get a solid sample of
tetrasilver tetroxide, ag4o4, from a pint of silspa.
Solid ag4o4 is a beautiful charcoal-grey compound with
an earthy, clay-like smell and distinctive taste.

Is it correct to say you are making EIS without using

Dear Raine The Rat Momma,

I am sure that experience your rats are sensitive, loving and considerate

hungry.

Mine are not so two-faced.

I keep my laundry outside in a wicker basket that has a few holes in it.
They choose the top of my pile of used clothing as their favorite dump spot.

They will chew away the insulation of 100 foot power cables through to the

just sharpening their little teeth. Why do they choose to dump in my shoes?
I tried to co-exist with them peacefully, until one walked across my face

As a quid pro quo for my sensitivity to your rats, how about having your

excretions?

I will never again insult your rats. I suggest that you reply on the OT

Actually, if a rat doesn’t chew on things, his teeth
will grow right through the top or bottom of his head.
He MUST chew!

To get rid of wild rats, I read in Mother Earth
magazine some years ago that putting out bowls of Coca
Cola for them to drink would do it. Rats have no
burping mechanism (the article said), so when they
drink it, it kind of blows them up inside. If you make
it diet soda, it will kill them even if they don’t
internally burp to death (unless they have the sense
to avoid it).

Since I supply CS to HF stores, pharmacies and doctors
across Canada, I am a CS-brewing purist. But, in fact,
missionaries in India make CS with water from the
Ganges river (shudder), and it has a wonderful affect
used against malaria, etc. In fact, brewing CS in the
water is how they sanitize it. As far as the risks of
using non-distilled water, all you have to do is stop
brewing it before it looks like coffee. Whatever water
you use, if your CS is clear, the particles are not
big enough to even start to cause argyria. Faith says
his CS is clear, using spring water. Heck, I will even
drink yellow CS freely without any hesitation (and
let’s have no “yellow water” wisecracks, please!).
It’s not the minerals that are any problem, it’s that
minerals can cause the particles to be bigger. But
that is easily ascertained by observing the color. No
color, no big particles.

CS>Using DW

2005-05-13 Thread Matthew McCann
Hello, Terry,

Are you saying that argyria is caused by the large particles?
Dissolved silver salts such as silver nitrate and silver
citrate can and do result in argyria, even though there are
no elemental silver particulates in the solution. The Ag+ ions
are as small as particles of silver ever get, but they
cause argyria if enough are consumed though the dissolved
salt may be colorless.

Raw, infected water can be sanitized by electrolyzing silver in it, but this
occurs at ppb levels, not ppm levels. So the
risk of argyria is nil.

Best regards,

Matthew
